How anyone could NOT like Collective Soul is beyond me. Right now, there are only 2 bands in my opinion where EVERYTHING they make is amazing. Foo Fighters is one band, and Collective Soul is the other.

I liked this song as a kid. I used to rewind the last 30 seconds to listen to it over and over.. I never saw the music vid..
As an adult I saw the music video and realized it was a message from God.. The last 30 seconds was showing me my destiny..
I just won a court battle to see my daughter that my ex wife was keeping from me. My daughter is half Korean... I had to win my rights to save her from a life of chaos and neglect...

Collective Soul was so underrated in the 90s so underrated it hurts. they wrote beautiful uplifting songs... I guess the 90s were filled with angry people. well... i was one.

Collective Soul is a simply amazing band. no words can describe how talented this band is. they are simply music geniuses. i have been a fan of CS for 15 years and still going.
They are truly one the best bands ever and I’ll be repetitive again and say they don’t get enough recognition they don’t have any bad songs
I love, love, love Collective Soul. I love this song and I love this video. I think the only way it has ever been topped is when they did it with the Atlanta youth orchestra. I love Ed's voice. And man are they ever young here!!!

Amazing song and band, I Love Collective Soul. Ed Roland, is a musical Genius. I hope he will do a book and share his story with us. Lyrics are so deep and inspiring in all his songs.

Still doesn't have a million views, but at the risk of sounding like a 90's teen, Collective Soul was a bit of a underrated band. Encountered more than a few people who were into these early 2000 indie bands that sound like solid 90's bands (like Collective Soul).

This song has deep meaning to me, not sure why, but it has since the first time I heard it. Powerful lyrics that each person can interpret their own way.
Same. I think we all feel like we don’t need anyone at some point in our lives. When those we love try to talk to us, we don’t listen to “the weight of [their] words” & push them away. At the same time, we look for things to make us feel perfect & whole, but it’s temporary & causes us distress. Then, we realize that special person(s) is all we need. “You’re all I need. And now I cry my soul to sleep.” At least, that’s how it feels to me. 😊

This song is to music as Hemingway was to the written word. It's one of my absolute favorites, and I'm almost exclusively into thrash metal and hard rock.
this is easily one of their greatest and most underrated songs. they are underrated to begin with... and most of their songs are some of the greatest in the whole world ;)
This was the first cd I ever bought in 1999. I played this album to death. I found it last year at record store for a $1. Still the best

First off CS is one of the greatest yet underated bands I know. I love these guys!! They play music out side of the box. I mean they step in directions that challenge their skill and bring into fruition masterpieces such as this song. While they where known as alternative rock these guys can play it all. I really enjoy the 3:10 and beyond. What talent to bring this all together.

Here in 2017. I've thought this song was beautiful since I first heard it in the early 2000s as a teenager. I watched the video often, and I have to say, I genuinely think this is one of the most beautiful songs I know. I still love CS and they deserve so much more credit than they get.

It's so saddening when i hear an amazing group like this with a song that's just this special, it just breaks my heart that they are so underated and not in mainstream viewing.
First heard this song played on some TV series I no longer remember. I was so haunted by it, that I wrote to the network to ask for the name of the tune and artist. 1999 was a terrible time in my life, full of chaos and the tearing down of every structure and source of stability I had ever known, much like this video depicts. Hemingway said, "the world breaks everyone, and afterwards, some people are stronger in the broken places." That year was my breaking, and this song was my therapy. (BTW, the best version of Needs is Collective Soul performing it live with a high school orchestra in their home state. Absolutely, awesomely, utterly inspiring, and hopefully still out there on youtube.)

I can LISTEN to all their albums from front to back (do you get it LISTEN) and I don’t know of any other artists that I can listen to their hole album without having to get up and skip any songs
This is one of their best songs... I remember listening to it so often after my wife left me with two young kids. I was wrong, I needed them, they needed me. More than 10 years later, I can listen to this and smile, I may still get emotional but we've come through so strong.

Man this band has sure grown on this old rocker born in 65. I saw them at at private concert for Novell employees in Salt Lake City years ago. They were great live and I still rotate the greatest hits CD.
