MOI ! .. 🎸👍🇺🇸
Hasn’t aged a bit , sounds as awesome now as it did when released 🤘
Yes...!!!
Looks like we made it!
That grungey guitar riff with the 'yeah' is an ultimate 90s rock sound 😎
Yes I agree and such a awesome song and group 👍
Yes it is. Love this song
Yeah and it came and went with 90s. No one can write consistently good music anymore. I hate the hit and miss attitude....
@@andrewgraham7659 it's a awesome song awe group I remember in the 90s

As a teenager back then I remember coming home from goofing off and finding my Dad at his stereo with my Collective Soul tape in it looking for this song. He looked at me with a BIG smile and said, "Find that, YEAH, song you listen too for me ". It is a memory I will remember forever!! Thanks Collective Soul for that!! I MISS and LOVE YOU DAD!!! Every Day!!!
You will meet again, friend. Someday, in Heaven.
I'm actually listening to this in memory of my dad as well. He passed on 5/9/24. I remember at 5-7 year old (1992-1995) cruising in his Nova listening to this, ACDC, Wilson Phillips and Paula Abdul.
Sorry to hear about your losses everybody. Keep your heads up and take care of yourselves !
Collective Saul was awesome. Are they still around?

I’m glad that they’re preserving this epic band’s legacy. Today they don’t make music like they used to. The music of the past decades 90s, 2000s, have more profound songs. Music was artwork. The songs of past decades had lyrics that touched the deepest corners of your soul. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Collective Soul, Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilot. Music of the 90s and early 2000s need preserving. They are work of art.

This band is WAY underrated.
My 3 year old son had been diagnosed with an aggressive brain stem tumor, medulloblastoma, in 1993. He and his two-year old sister LOVED this song, jumping on the bed and yelling out the chorus "Wooohhh" as I played it over and over in late 1993 and early 1994. He passed in February, 1994 but I'll never forget this song as it made him imminently happy in his last days!!
Bless you.

If I can’t go back to the 80’s , I will take the 90’s for sure. I remember dressing grunge all the time. Yes, girls wore flannels, construction boots, or doc martens , and a pair of jeans. I’m 51 . I feel as if time has sped up . Bittersweet
👍
I also miss the 90’s. I haven’t worn flannel since then 😂😂. Doc Martens and construction boots left blisters on my feet but hey I wanted to look cool 😂😂.
In the 70's we hippie chicks wore sleeveless white T with bib overalls lace up brown work boots and the ever present flannel shirt. Nothing's new under the Sun except once.

One of the best guitar solos out there. Not to mention, one of the best guitar songs.
Ross Childress can bend a note.
True that
They played a concert in Savannah, GA in the early 2000's. It was outdoors down by the river. A storm rolled in shortly after they took the stage and it started raining and lightning pretty bad. And this storm was no joke. Half the crowd left for cover because it was intense. Huge rain drops just pouring down. Lightning not too far away lighting up the sky. They all kind of gathered at the back of the stage for a minute, then came running back out. The singer said something about how they were making them call off the concert due to the weather, but they weren't going to leave until they played the song we all came to hear. Then they rocked this song out while getting soaked. Nobody would have blamed them for leaving when they were told to, but they hung in there for us and I'll always remember that.
Sounds like it was a once in a lifetime experience, I wish I was there.
That's awesome dedication really. Great memory and experience.
in a van down by the river
Aww, they love their fans.
Imagine this: “Heaven let your light shine down” *huge lighting strike

In my case, it’s quite the opposite. You should listen to Linkin Park if you’re a fan of HARD, ALETERNATIVE, and electronic rock. Or if you like AJR, you might like their last album, one more light. Well, last OFFICIAL song. The others are remixes and 20th anniversary additions which there’s 2 so far.
This song represents a time when music was simple but great
Nah, the alternative revolution brought alot of junk that degenerated into angry uncontrolled fires. This song brought light to an era that was getting increasingly dark.
it's still extremely simple today. You just need an auto-tune

@@SunBunz Sounds like he was a truly special man. It actually reminds me of the story of my maternal grandmother, a severe alcoholic who constantly neglected my mother and her two siblings. It's a very long story, and I don't know all the details, but I do know that her Christmas/birthday present (my aunt was actually born on Christmas day, believe it or not!) to them on, what I believe was my mom's 17th year of life, was to go to rehab.
She hasn't have a drop of alcohol since that day and is now slowly approaching her last days from congestive heart failure. She probably has no more than a few years left, sadly. Still, she's had a long and fulfilling life of about 75 years, so I can't complain. I'm going to miss her so much.

@@michaelbirke6050 I couldn't agree more. Music really speaks to the soul through every phase of life, which is incredible
I was lucky to have enjoyed the best music since the sixtys up to the ninetys. Unfortunetely afterwards music failed miserably with no depth, no good lyrics and no emotion. So sad for us older people. At least we had the opportunity to experience the best music and have the best musicians of all times.
Not the best, but at least a portion of it wasn't total trash till the transition to the the 2000s.

In the 90s I HATED this song, it was played to death and drove me crazy. Now here I am in 2019 so desperate with 90s nostalgia I am actively seeking this song out because I miss the 90s so much. 😭
RubyW00 we had an upstairs neighbor who played this constantly for a month when it first came out. Me and my wife really grew sick of it. I’ve since made my peace with the song and enjoy it and Collective Soul. Especially their “Dosage” album.
Im there with you. Ive always missed it but now lately im missing it even more
90s!!! 😭 This one never get old for me. So many interesting parts of the perfect whole that still seem fresh and keep me intently attuned every time. However, The 80s Tainted Love....oof! It made me cringe in the 80s, and flashback cringe during the All 80s All Day craze of the upper 90s. Played every hour. Ok, maybe not, but every 2 or 3, at least. Then I stumbled upon the original 60s version, and realized how brilliantly Soft Cell rearranged and reimagined that song as New Wave synthpop. I love it now. I shouldn't have revisited the video, tho. It gave me the creeps! :))
same here...
I hated this song too in the 1990s, then I heard it on the radio and realized how good the song was.....
Gawd this song reminds me of my local neighborhood bar. Early,20s & on top of the world!
300 years from now, they'll be playing this. Bank on it.
- edit - a select few will be playing this.
I just grew a flannel shirt by listening to this one.
Lmao
I laughed out loud, and scared my cat. Dude!
Yes!!!! Me too. ( 18apr2020)

@@vicdipietro9758 IMO opinion Our 90s Alt is gonna stand the test of time like classic 60 n 70s and golden oldies. The 80s was the worst. Though as a young kid just getting into music GnR was my 1st Fav band. Still like iem now n then.
True that
music is still about music bro. opinions like this suck
I heard this on our hard-rock radio station today. Forgot how good it was! I had to play it again on RUclips immediately. The 1990's was full of great alternative rock!
We shine together ❤❤
Give me a word,
Give me a sign.
Show me where to look,
Tell me what will I find?
What will I find?
What will I find?
Lay me on the ground,
Or fly me in the sky.
Show me where to look,
Tell me what will I find?
What will I find?
What will I find?
Yeah

Love is in the water,
Love is in the air.
Show me where to look,
Tell me will love be there?
Will love be there?
Teach me how to speak,
Teach me how to share.
Teach me where to go,
Tell me will love be there?
Will love be there?

Datgum good song, just seen a cover band, after that I had to go find collective soul. It's been a long time, song still has that feeling.
@@icuabc1235 every generation has their music, but damn if the early 90s didn't bring it.
Little disappointed you didn't put the "ya" in the lyrics. Messed me all up ! Lol
GOD shines his light down on us all the time!!! He even saved my soul!!!!
Thank you God, We love you :)
lol
Amen ❤️
All these guys were the voices of a generation and in the 90s they were the sounds of a decade. Gin Blossoms, Match Box 20, Candle Box, Bush, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Goo Goo Dolls All of those bands had that distinctive 90's ingredients to their productions. Listening to them now puts me in another place and time, in some cases with some that are no longer with us. There will never be another decade that sounds like the 90's.
Gotta give props to the pumpkins too. Who had a song called Drown that this song kinda sounds like 🤷♂️
And candle box sound Garden a awesome groups
Memories of grade 9 hanging out at the pool hall pumping loonies into the jukebox and playing Collective Soul, The Tragically Hip, and Stone Temple Pilots.....I'll go back any day!!!!
My grandpa was on a slow decline with his health. The last time he was ever able to drive us, we just drove around. Looking for deer. Watching the sun set and sky. This song came on the radio he loved it. He was so funny he’d say the “yeah” in such a funny way to get me to laugh. I didn’t know this would be my last ride with him or last time jamming out in the car. This song makes me miss him so much. He was driving 10-15 under the limit and it still wasn’t slow enough.. time moves too fast. This was last October and I miss him more every day. He was like another father to me. I’ve always liked this song but that’s how I fell in love with it and became a favorite.
Sending positive vibes to you
Your story brought a tear to my eyes ❤️
God bless you and the memory
What a fabulous memory! So touching. God bless you!
❤yeah!💜
Shine by Collective Soul is both a healing and well made 90s classic alternative rock song to listen to. This imaginative and soul nourishing song metaphorically made a mark on my memory again today when I unexpectedly heard this classic within a 90 minute span on two local radio stations.
this song had been stuck in my head for well over a year, i was beginning to believe it didnt exist
