If you have a chance to them live do it. Ed is so good with the audience and you can tell they love what they do. My wife and I got to meet Will Turpin and talk to him for about 15 minutes. What a super bright down to earth engaging person. He can play pretty much every instrument. Please do yourself a favor and listen to a song like Heavy in an uncompressed format. Most compressed music destroys the bass note. The guitar work in Heavy so underrated. The bass note during the solo is an amazing part of the song. I would think those of you who have heard them live would agree that Where the River Flows played live is one of the best all time live-played songs in rock. It's really impossible to describe how amazing it is live.
Ed Roland has stated Collective Soul is not classified as Christian music. Their music is heavily spiritually influenced, but their music is categorized as Rock/Alternative Rock.
Christian group?? lol “Turn your head now baby just spit me out.” Ah yes, very Christian indeed I mean, it’s possible he’s referring to an alter boy. I don’t know. It’s possible. lol
Not Christian. Growing up with a minister as a father it's clear to see why people think this. Either way these brothers are very creative and command the attention of their audience
Thank you so much, my friend! Just walked out to the S while wrapping gifts to put under the tree. Much love to you and all the other collective soul friends! Lisa from Chicago. Hope to see you guys at the next concert. Best band ever!🙏🫶🌲
the world i know was playing on the radio the day i walked into my motel room on 9/11 it was unreal to think he walked up on high in nyc that was the highest place in the town.I wonder how Ed Roland came up with that song before the buildings fell?
I don't understand why Collective Soul doesn't have thier 2009 self titled "Rabbit" album released under RoadRunner Records listed in thier lists of albums... It's a fucking Awesome record! Especially the song "Dig".. Ed Roland is a fucking MASTER songwriter! So underrated!! I put him up there next to the greats like The Man TOM fuckin' PETTY!!
i use to wash a chicken transport full of cages had to be compelty clean and sanatize average 7 to 8 hours straigt to do my neice put these song's on a cassett tape for me for my walkman
Decent list based off of singles. But if you take their catalog in totality, in my personal opinion, only "The World I Know" and "Heavy" would be top 5.
I LOVE YOU CHRISTINA MAE BUSH AND OUR CHILDREN I PROMISE BABY !!! I HAVE ETHNIC CLEANSED THIS BABY RAPERS AND RAPOS LIKE I PROMISED YOU AND YOUR MOTHER..!! IM SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG BABY !!❤❤❤️🤩🤩
For me personally, I would switch out Heavy for Simple. Not that Heavy is bad, Simple is just better. Other than that I'm good with this list. But to be fair, I'm sure that they also have many good songs that I'm not familiar with
Mantap......👍👍👍👍👍mengenang tahun 1994,sewaktu aku tinggal dijakarta.
And 15 others which are absolutely killer! Ed Roland is a genius & CS are deserving of a spot in the R&R HOF

Yeah most of us are spiritual on some level perhaps it’s not supposed to be categorized!!
I would just classify it as good with a slight spiritual bent!!

Uh if you don't have December in there than you are an idiot.
Heavy is one of the greatest < than 3 minute songs of all time. Right up there with Green River by CCR.

I definitely wouldn't put Run at #5. Maybe Gel, or Why Part 2 were definitely bigger songs.
