This band should be as big as Nirvana or Pearl Jam. Absolutely one of my favorite bands ever!
thats what SHE SAID
I attended 15 of their shows over the last 20 yrs...every show was pure gold
Heck yeah. Why don't they get air play?
They didn't sell out to the record label or sell their (collective) soul to the devil.
I agree. I thought they were from here.
One of the best bands to come out of the 90's. INCREDIBLE!
Facts!!!
I'm 47 years old. A van halen fan. Collective soul is in my top 5. Maybe top 3
1. Rush
2. vh
3. Eagles
4. Metallica
5. Collective soul. (But I'm listening to more collective soul right now than anyone)
This band has some seriously sweet messages about God in their songs.
I didn't realize at the time...
Ed and Dean Roland's father was a Southern Baptist minister.
Shine is a great example as well, very well written as are most of their songs…Seen them in concert several times and they sounded fricn great every time, Actually got to meet them once, very humble respectful down to Earth guys, I brought up my cover band and figured they wouldn’t give a crap lol but they were very interesting in hearing what songs we covered etc.. Definitely one of my favorite bands from the 90s.. ✌🏻
The best “Christian” rock bands are the ones that are just regular bands not trying to use labels to sell music.
Played golf with Ed Roland this weekend and partied throughout the nights. Ed is a class act and areal and wonderful, gracious and grateful human being. We spoke to his wife (who just had surgury) and his best friend and his brother. Just a wonderful weekend in the desert.
Thats so badass man
SUPERBE GROUPE À TOUT POINT DE VUE ❗️😍💋👍🏻📀
The 90's had a planet full of great rock bands and Collective Soul is one of 'em...still listening to them today. Miss the good old days!
Same here... exactly same.
The most underrated band 🤷🏽♂️
This screams 90s. The memories 💯
Collective Soul is such an amazing and talented band. I feel like they could make a hit song on any given day just rolling out of bed.
Yessss
My absolute favorite Collective Soul song. Just got their new album in the mail yesterday. Creed is back together, too. All is well in the world.
These riffs, the singing. I’ve been obsessed with this song for a long time
Ross is Awesome🔥🔥
2024.. I'm still listening because the message is still relevant
One of the greatest the 90's has to offer..
Absolutely yes,I love this band❤
In Memory Of Jessica L. Gillick~ OG Soul Sister. Miss Your Smiles,Laughter,& You. Everytime I Hear Sister Don't Cry. I Think Of You. Jess. Hope You Are Making Everybody In Heaven Laugh. 😔
My Husband and I 26 years ago use to call Collective Soul Our Traveling Tunes.
Excellent, and yes absolutely my go to for road trips ....my bitch'en CD
These guys will always be one of my favorite bands out there period. So much talent and very underrated in my opinion.
they always be my fav and im canadian
Ricky Bloom 7
Here we go with this underrated shit...Not in my town buddy Atl Ga they were the most played band on radio in the 90's...
One of my favorite bands too. I don't really care how under or over rated. I just know what I love listening to
@@gnargnarbobo6133 well aren't they from Georgia. Kind of a biased statement. Throughout the country in the world I think they were a little underrated. But it doesn't matter definitely one of the best bands of the 90s.
Very underrated band.... deserves much more popularity. They have managed to create music, which in my opinion is evergreen and will never get old.
This solo has so much emotion man
Very talented bricklayers. That's a top job in under 5 mins 😂🎉❤😊
I grew up in the 60's & 70's. Love this stuff. Age is not a factor musically speaking. I still rock as good as I ever did. ] -)
So do I buddy. And I am not even from the west; I am from India.
Ditto for that -I am 70-I like this band as much as those from the 60's and 70's.
This band has some seriously GREAT guitar riffs and solos in their songs.
I know right, they're my favorite parts.
i Really Love It
Erica Burns lyrics are awesome too.
120 %
I agree great singer and guitar I remember
This song is an absolute banger, such a catchy tune. 😊
That nineties fashion and style 😍😍😍😍
1997 in the air...after 25 years still rocks!!!
Greatest band of the 90s
I think this song is hands down their best work to date, breaking away from the Pearl Jam influence and creating their own unique riffs.
Yeah!
instant replay.
I agree Jeff! One of the most under rated bands ever too!
90's at its finest
My favourite alternative band of all time ❤️
Summer of 97
Too much awesome song composed by Collective Soul!!!......
I got this album when it got released on CD and 27 years later I am still here.
My art teacher in highschool always played your music.. Everyone loved that class!!
best band
All lyrics are Truth
I'm dumbfounded as to why Collective Soul never had a top 10 hit in the US. Severely underrated band .
One of the best from the '90s
They had 7 number one hits on the rock charts.
one of my favorite things about the "Alternative Rock" era during the 1990's...the connection between "Power Pop" and "Grunge"...Collective Soul, Everclear, Third Eye Blind...perfect for when rock is too downer, and pop is too uppity, a perfect balance...
This song has what I like to call a "Heroic" sound. It is positive, but it has this uplifting and defiant vibe that is the equivalent of seeing someone winning a race in slow motion, reaching the top of a mountain, or running the field after a home run.
Epic.
You know what ? AGREED ! 😎
It's the message, these guys jam while telling us for who, what, why , its clever lol. Look behind the music, CS is the best.
@@samsmith5004 I'm talking about the music, specifically.
Fantastic description! Well done CNNblackmail!
The older I get, these are the only kind of lyrics I want to hear. Enough with the angry and hateful music out there.
Kick ass music! Whew!
90s 🖤
This song is so fn good you can't help but playing it over and over what a very talented band are their songs are gold
Agreed! It's on my personal deezer playlist and when it comes on I have to play it 2-3 times, sometimes more. CS is awesome and so underrated!
🤘🏻🤘🏻👀😎🕺🏼
I'm totally drawn into C.S.
I put these guys on the same level as Queen. They’re that good.
One of The Best out of Atlanta!!! Moreover, McDonough...Thanks and will see you fabulous guys in Bay Saint Louis!!!!
They have a strong message of hope.
I genuinely want to send this song to my son...
One of the best.
Collective soul 👍💕
They should've been a lot bigger than they were they didn't make a bad song or album. This is genuine masterpiece and i think 100 years from now (If the world still exist) it will still be played
I have followed Collective Soul since 1993. They are truly a band that appreciates their fans and always gives a high energy show.
I was blessed to meet Ed and Joel before a show in Tempe, AZ. some years ago and if they come to Toronto, ON. Canada, I'll take my wife for sure to see them.
One of the greatist unsung bands of all time
yeah its not by no means to say they are not known, but these guy's are so under rated, very talented.
NYC HERE I AM!!! DJ
Hey your thirsty
Walking in the desert all alone
Hey you're now searching
Lost in isolation from your soul
when bullets you bite
From the pain you request
You're finding them harder to digest
but the answers you seek
Are the ones you destroy
Your anger's well deployed
Hey why can't you listen
Hey why can't you hear
Hey why can't you listen
as Love screams everywhere
Hey you now hunger
Feeding your mind with selfishness
Hey you now wander
Aimlessly around your consciousness
when your prophecies fail
when your thoughts become weak
the silence creates necessity
when You're clothing yourself
with the shield up despair…
your courage now impaired
Hey why can't you listen
Hey why can't you hear
Hey why can't you listen
As Love screams everywhere
you kiss goodbye all self esteem
no signs to see do you believe
and all your words just twist and turn
reviving just to crash and burn
you're fighting till the bitter end
if only your heart could open
open this
Hey why can't you listen
Hey why can't you hear
Hey why can't you listen
as Love screams everywhere
(Repeat chorus)
Some of the best music... ever.
+Jeffrey Dean was looking for some of the best music...
+Jeffrey Dean always makes my hippie azz smile :)
I concur good sir.
Agree!!
Great singer and guitar I remember, great group
One of my favorite bands. So talented. One of the most underrated bands. 2017 and still listening to this. So much better than today's crappy music.
Thank you for voicing my same sentiment. Collective Soul will always kick ass!
I agree great singer and guitar I remember
Seems like nothing but anger, titties, ass, hoes and bitches in 2020. Cant stand it. Thank god for youtube and the internet. Otherwise id be at the record store rn.
August 2020 and I'm still listening to these guys. They ROCK!!!
Valid😎
Best band in the 90s
I've always thought this is a great CS song. Top 5 from DB for sure. The guitar part was one of the first 20 or so guitar parts I ever learned. I love the guitar solo on this! 🔥👏🙌
*Ross Childress* is an underrated *Guitar Hero.*
Holy shit, haven't heard this song in literally 20 years. Can still sing along just like back when it got lots of radio airtime. But it doesn't make me feel old. More thankful than anything. I would play this in my head while I was out for a run on a warm summer day, and I'm lucky enough to be able to do the exact same thing now. Part of what makes timeless music timeless!
The song was LITERALLY released 19 years ago :p
Okay there Roland4Life. hahaha
In my opinion they should be in Rock Hall of Fame
Gotta listen to this song with good headphones - surround sound stereo to get the full experience in my humble opinion 🤘
absolutely some of the greatest music ever created....Collective Soul is a rare find....ageless!!
love this song. always makes me feel good and grateful for the little things.
I really haven't discovered how great collective soul is until recently. They've become a favorite of mine. Great riffs, good songwriting and surprisingly uplifting.
Same didnt buy my first Collective Soul album til i bought Dosage a few years ago. AXS showed a concert of them performing Dosage and i ordered the cd right away!
Genius is seldom understood at the moment of conception. I love this band.
I'm listening;)
These guys look good with the long hair. It suits them.
Collective Soul has come a way.And their music tells you why.
yeah, the 90's were awesome, I miss that decade.
Love this song, love this band and y trully miss the 90's
3:01 to 3:22 gives me such a good feeling, it's my most favorite part. 💜💜
I love it!!!💛💛💛
I love Collective Soul! They should have been a top band!
They've definitely always been one of my favorites. Since before I even knew them! You know how sometimes you find a band you like and then find they have like 4 or 5 hits you've always loved and you had no idea it was the same group? That happened with them awhile ago, and I've just loved them more and more since.
They were a top band. Where were you?
I agree great singer and guitar I remember
They were in Australia 🇦🇺 Still a lot of respect for them over here. I grew up listening to these awesome fellas
They didn't get a lot of critical respect and didn't make waves in the UK, among other things, but they got about as much radio play in the US as any other band during the back half of the 90s. And their music holds up great.
The brief shots of the WTC at the beginning and end of this video made my heart ache. Still...................one of my favorite CS vids (and songs!).
..Yes. At 0:06 and 3:57 ... God have mercy on their souls. 😥 🙏 🕊
I miss the 90s too! Collective was great, the face of the big city urban life, sad but warm.
I was a kid when I like them, now I'm a man and I still love them.
The best of the 90´s best. A beautiful song.
got insomnia and back to Collective Soul for my better soul 🤘
My idol.... Collective souls..
Love you guyz😘😘 !! I really love your songs...
One of my favorite groups
1st video ive watch from these guys and this is the reason why im in love with PRS Guitars
I feel the same exact way. Ross Childress effect. If it weren’t for him, I would have no interest in them. That’s called influence!
I think we need to re release these golden years of music
Pasa el tiempo y este tema sigue siendo uno de mis favoritos
Amo este tipo de música el grunge fue todo ahora no existe cualquier boludo dice pelotudeces y gana plata estos eran músicos de la p... Madre
This band was always too good for the world they inhabited.
A band with a lot of soul and talent, very rare today indeed
Love this band they rock!!!!!!!!
One of the best legendary rock bands for me until to this time🤘🏻🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏽
Clearly there music is great .....throw me back in the 90s and leave me there.....
this song is ridiculously good. Love the shot of WTC 1 and 2 still standing.
Collective Soul Rocks!!
Love these guys! Always positive and upbeat songs. Never really got their due. Keep it up guys we're still listening.
Succinct and thoughtful comment...Thanks!😁
My all time favorite Collective Soul song. Awesome chords, and heard it a lot on Z88.3 that summer of 97 on the Saturday night show geared towards the youth. Alternative Reign or Rain. Take your pick.
One of my favorite songs ever!
2020 and still listening to collective soul, my favorite group of all time, and this list has the includings of Steve Miller band, the cars, the hip, and yeah def leppard
They're my fave too and I'm 21! Have you seen them live before!?
Nope, working my ass off at the time, sure would have liked to though
Me neither, bought 2nd row tickets at a meet and greet in September, but I worry it won't go on :(
Such an underrated band like holy crap.
When you finally understand how much of the soundtrack of the 90's was collective soul...you will understand most things.
Ed roland for president!
I love these Georgian bands!
