My wife and I have the most amazing daughter and I will fight to my last breath to provide and protect her! Anyone can make a child it takes a man to be a Father! Helps having an amazing wife to have your back!
Such a beautiful song. A man finding out he will become a father and he is embracing it and anticipating the arrival of his first child. Such a feeling of acceptance and being wanted...LOVE.
This song inspired me to make a song that is inspired by love. If you want to listen to it here is the link: ruclips.net/video/3Wo0zFPt_t0/видео.html Thank you!
Such a heartfelt song coming from a man that found out he is about to be a father. Purest and most precious song ever written about a man that is about to be a new father.
This is one of the most soul-stirring songs ever released in the early 2000s. SCOTT STAPP, CREED's lead singer, wrote "WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN" after learning he was going to be a father in early 1998. One of the reasons he felt compelled to do it was that he didn't want his child to endure the same difficulties he did as a youngster. Stapp came from a strong religious Christian family, and he didn't want his son to question himself and his faith like Scott did.
I lost my little boy six years ago when he was four. My world changed drastically when he was born, every night I’d play my acoustic guitar and sing him this song till he fell asleep with a small smile on his face. I’ve never had a moment since his passing that he’s not at the forefront of my mind. This song still to this day makes tears stream down my face in remembrance of him. I’ll always and forever be proud of my sweet little boy. I love you Thomas Johnathon Sweeney, your father will always miss you
When MY SON Died I Listened To And Cried To This Song For a Very Long Time. And Now,.....I Just Listen. The Tears Still Stream a Little Down My Face 😢 But I Now Feel So GRATEFUL TO GOD, THAT I WAS BLESSED TO BE HIS MOTHER FOR AS LONG AS I WAS ALLOWED TO. 💜 I Miss You So Much My SWEET ROBERT (ROBBIE )😇. This song came out when my first child was born and will always have a special place in my heart for first baby girl, this song takes me back to when she first came into this world, and I heard her first cry, her first sound of life. Thank you Creed for this song!
When I was pregnant I used to sing “welcome to this place, I’ll show you everything” to my son each night, unfortunately he did not make it into this world but I would have shown him everything beautiful life had to offer
I found out I was going to be a dad around this same time last year. A couple months went by, and the baby’s mother and I split up in June. Last July was one of the hardest months of my life. I started bartending at a new restaurant. It was the grand opening and we were swamped all day. I was depressed, could barely function but I fought through the pain and put on a fake smile. I asked God for guidance many times that night. Around 10pm, amidst a still loud and crowded restaurant, I finally walked outside under the patio lights by myself to get a 5 minute break. I was the only one out there so it was so peaceful. There was a light mist in the air. Just moments later, this beautiful song began playing on the loud outside speakers, I couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. Everything I was going through was made alright though in that moment because God had given me the perfect sign. The heartbeat intro still gives me chills. Fast forward to now, I have a beautiful baby boy named Izaiah and I’m going to be the greatest dad for him. I will share this story with him some day.
This song was popular when my Son was born in 2001. It will always remind me of his birth and how I felt at the time. Done my best with him & his younger sister. Hope I never fail them.
Gregg Hunter I was born in 2001 and my dad took his own life he loved this song I just hope u will take care and love your kids everyday because you never know when you can loose them.
My oldest Son TJ was born in 2001 also....August 2nd....this song reminds me of when he was born too....can't believe he is graduating high school in June....time sure flies #Memories
To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. " ASK JESUS TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND SAVE YOU, AND TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS, FOR WE GIVE THANKS AND GLORY TO THE LORD. IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AMEN!

This song hit me in my mid 20's. I was homeless, depressed and living on my Grandparen'ts couch and I was listening to this as I was having my very first and very real psychic spiritual awakening. I started to understand so much and also how little I understood at the same time. I cried my eyes out for the gratitude and sorrow that came in hand in hand. I miss my Grandparents, they raised me and they are both gone now. I guess Spirit was holding me at that moment letting me know there was so much left in life to see.
My daddy bought me this album in high-school. I'll never forget sitting in my room with the blanket my mom hand sowed for me at my dad's new house misunderstanding life for what it was in a whole. I've never missed my parents more than I do today
How old were you when you discovered the meaning behind this is song was about being a dad and your baby coming to this world crazy the older you get the
My wife of 31 years just passed from cancer the 20th of last month. We have 3 kids: 18, 22, and 24. I hope your father is there or someone else to help you get through this. God bless.
This song my dad used to listen to when I was little boy and he passed away 11 years ago. I finally found this song and I broke down so hard. I miss him so very much.
Lyrics: Well I just heard the news today It seems my life is gonna to change I close my eyes, begin to pray Then tears of joy stream down my face With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open Well I don't know if I'm ready To be the man I have to be I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side We stand in awe, we've created life With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open Now everything has changed I'll show you love I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open I'll show you everything Oh yeah With arms wide open Wide open If I had just one wish Only one demand I hope he's not like me I hope he understands That he can take this life And hold it by the hand And he can greet the world With arms wide open With Arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open Now everything has changed I'll show you love I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open I'll show you everything oh yeah With arms wide open Wide open
It's not just that we come back to this song for memories we share for the ones we lost or forgotten I listen to this song cause this is the first song I showed my little brother who I miss so much and just to hear this song reminds me of the times we shared together as brothers
This song came on the radio as I started my car to move it from emergency parking in front of the hospital. My wife had just given birth to our first child. I was always skeptical hearing stories like this. I no longer am skeptical. Tons of emotions, this made it over the top. It still brings me back to that day. My daughter is 20 now. For all those young parents out there, stay the course, keep trying, you’ll make it!
This is the theme song for my son and I. It's our song together. I heard this as I was on the way to the hospital to pick up my new born son and my beautiful wife. It will be an eternal reminder of the most important day in life. Thank you.
When my kid was born I also listened to Creed on the way to see my newborn. I raised him on Creed, Nickelback, Ted Nugent and Meatloaf. We are all Trump supporters in our home and he's owned guns since the age of four. God bless America brother!

@@aR0ttenBANANA maybe you dont have a kid, but when or if you do you'll really understand it. I never really cared for it until I became a father. Its lame ,but every time I hear this song I cry a bit because It reminds me of the day he was born and love my 1 year old mess maker so much.
My son passed away 6 years ago. I wasn't ready to be the man i had to be but he knows i've done everything for him. Wherever you are Enzo, love u forever.
My dad said this song was for me.... After all the abuse, addiction, and pain he caused me. I hear this song and know exactly what he meant when he said "i love you". I never believed he actually loved me until i found out that this was his song to me. My dad is clean now and i hear this song and it hurts so much. Knowing he never knew how to love me until now
Learn to forgive him. I know he's not perfect, but he's as human as you, me or anyone else. I don't know what he's been through, but nobody teaches you how to be a father. I hope you spend your days with him in a caring way and may your relationship with him grow stronger.
Well... unfortunately this comment did not age well. My father relapsed and got 3 DUI's within 3 months. He will now be spending his 61st, 62nd, and potentially his 63rd birthday in prison. It's so hard to love someone who could let you down this many times. I know he loves me but sometimes I can't tell what he loves more. His family. Or. His addiction
As a father myself and a addict who is clean now for 3 years I can promise you your father always loved you and whatever demons he has he hopes he ain’t passed em on to you, be a better man than your father at the end of the day that’s all we want as a parent and it’s a shame when some fathers can’t conquer themselves and their own faults but regardless he loves you bro, take care
@@FrankyCpunishmentSTYLE your comment means the world to me. Thanks to everyone for the hopeful wishes. I really do pray things turn around for our relationship. I always wanted me and my dad to be best friends. Instead we've been more of strangers in this world
Creed is a lesson in the duality of man. Scott Stapp has said in interviews that he doesn't know why he wrote his music this way, but says he felt compelled to do so by a higher power. My father used to sing this song to me when I was young. He was also a tortured man. May god rest hos soul.. Love you dad, miss you so much..
My friend just passed away a few days and he was an organ donor ❤️ we celebrated him for donating his organs and we walked him to the elevator to this song where they took him off life support and he was able to donate his heart and kidneys 😭 rest in peace Jacob 😢 we love you so much 😢 So proud you saved so many lives ❤
I’m so sorry for your loss. My best friend passed away 3 years ago and was also an organ donor. 5 different people received her organs, including her heart going to a little girl. She wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Take comfort in the fact that your friend’s act of kindness keeps his memory alive.
I listened to this song 4 years before I got pregnant, after having 3 miscarriages. It gave me hope, and now I have a 13 year old son. One of my fav songs of all time.
Just found out I'm gonna be a father. This song was very important to my mother when she was pregnant with me. She found out and then heard this song for the first time the same day. Now almost 22 years, later, here I am.
It came out just a few weeks before I found out my girl was pregnant. We were just kids back then and we got into a huge fight and she told me to leave, I did. Fast forward till 2022 and I still bawl my eyes out because of my ignorance and pride as a boy.
I was a single mother, who gave birth to my first born at the time this song came out. It was just be and I against the world. He changed me in all the best ways. This song is relevant to me as a mother to my first born son. I still cry when I hear it. He’s 23 now and I made sure he knows what this song means to me, so that he can carry it with him when I am gone
I was a teenager when this song came out. It seemed so cheesey and corny, we relentlessly made fun of it. My tastes were much cooler, I thought. But now that I've got a little son in my life, this song makes me cry, lol. Its so evocative. I didn't like kids or know how to act until I had the baby in my arms. I had no idea I was going to love him so much. This song truly hits that nerve, right on the bullseye. It's funny how this stuff changes you. Time passes, and you take different perspectives on the same things.
My dad would play this song late night and drink a beer. He felt this song with his soul. Rest up dad I listen to this song often it makes me so emotional though. 😢❤

Played this for the first time to my daughter after her up from her mums house. I was driving/ singing and she was dancing in her car seat, after the song finished she said “that was a cool song dad” a very special moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget ❤️
My son was born in 1996. This song was popular that year. It is my song to him. Fast forward 25 years later, he was killed in a car accident. This was one of many songs played at his funeral. The pain never goes away. His passing has shattered me beyond repair. My world is so dark and dim. RIP my boy, daddy loves you.
I'm sorry. You know that Paul the apostle who was the apostle to the gentiles (us) says that those who know Christ don't grieve like others who have no hope. What does this mean? If you believe in Christ fully, there is no need to grieve because we have an eternal life outside this place.
My dad passed away 1 day ago and he said this song was for me not literally but like in the fact that this is how he felt when I was born it's hard listening to this song
@@libbil9943 Exactly my opinion. All you "gift" them is the guarantee of death and struggle who would want to give that to someone. Living out losing everything and everyone around you slowly. How great it is.
One of the most amazing things my husband ever said to me was after the birth of our son, he told me this song described his feelings about becoming a dad! Our son is now 15 and we have an 11 year old daughter and he’s still an amazingly loving husband and dad!
My beautiful 47 year old son died 3/12/2021he had a heart attack. We are having a memorial in his honor and this is one.of his favorite songs it will be played
If you’re still listening to this song in 2020, you’re such a legend! I first heard this song back in 1999 and still can’t get rid off listening! So nice! ❤️
I'd be honored if some fans of mid/late 90s classics would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of "1979" by the Smashing Pumpkins, LONG DECEMBER by the Counting Crows, and NAME by the GooGoo Dolls in tribute to 3 great standards of the era. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace out and stay safe in the '020s.
My son-in-law had this song playing while my daughter was giving birth. It was a very special, sweet moment and very powerful. I never knew that I would love this song.
Used to listen as a kid and I thought it was the sweetest thing a dad could think or say to his boy. Now I'm that man later on in life that's gonna keep these thoughts and give my boy the best life possible here for you. You will know love and also know the love of God. ❤
This song was #1 in the day my son was born in September of 2000... He came out of me with his arms stretched so wide open... It was beautiful. This song always reminds me and makes me cry tears of joy. He's 23 this year and has epilepsy...I just pray he outlives me by so many years

I remember my dad told me a story about before I was born. He had found out that my mom was pregnant that day and he went to the bar and played this song on the jukebox. I’m 16 years old today and he’s the best father I could have ever asked for.

Human Clay released a week or so after my little sister was born, when I was 10 years old. My dad had passed away tragically when I was 6 and I was starting to understand what it meant to be part of a new family. This song gave my stepdad and me an incredible connection as we welcomed Rachel to our family and into our hearts. We listened to it on repeat and cried and hugged.
My father used to sing this to me when I was a kid , now he is gone... He passed away 2 years ago , He was an awesome person and I miss him but this song remembers to me all the love he gave to me he was an awesome dad... I can't listen to this song without crying :''')
This was getting a lot of airplay still in 2001 when I found out we were having our first child. Filled me with emotion every time I heard it. I can't believe this song was written in 15 minutes at a soundcheck, when the lead singer (Stapp) found out he was going to be a father.
How beautiful is that 💖
Gorgeous story
16 years ago I found out that I was going to be a father, this song is always playing in my mind. My wife and I have the most amazing daughter and I will fight to my last breath to provide and protect her!
Anyone can make a child it takes a man to be a Father!
Helps having an amazing wife to have your back!
72 yrs old..fell in love with Scott Stapp after hearing his songs..his voice..many years ago
wow this is the only non sad comment.
Such a beautiful song. A man finding out he will become a father and he is embracing it and anticipating the arrival of his first child. Such a feeling of acceptance and being wanted...LOVE.
This song inspired me to make a song that is inspired by love. If you want to listen to it here is the link: ruclips.net/video/3Wo0zFPt_t0/видео.html
Thank you!
wow son, is that what this song is about? you nailed it
Such a heartfelt song coming from a man that found out he is about to be a father. Purest and most precious song ever written about a man that is about to be a new father.
Congrats Roger 🙏🏼
😍❤️
When I found out I would be a dad, the first song I started to re-listen to was Get Free by The Vines.
I love you Thomas Johnathon Sweeney, your father will always miss you
Jay. Sending you light love and peace. God bless you & yours always. ❤
Praying for solace to your soul.
Bro, heart breaks bro, couldn't imagine, sorry to hear
He is very proud of his father I can guarantee you that. Im so sorry for your loss
You may not see him in the flesh at this juncture in life but, he is with you.
I Miss You So Much My SWEET ROBERT (ROBBIE )😇. I Pray That You Know While You Are In HEAVEN, That

Why cant there be music this good any more😢?
This song came out when my first child was born and will always have a special place in my heart for first baby girl, this song takes me back to when she first came into this world, and I heard her first cry, her first sound of life. Thank you Creed for this song!
When I was pregnant I used to sing “welcome to this place, I’ll show you everything” to my son each night, unfortunately he did not make it into this world but I would have shown him everything beautiful life had to offer
I'm so sorry for your loss

Izaiah is a great name and you’ll be a great dad
Hey mate, what a beautiful story. You’re going to be a great dad, it’s a beautiful name you’ve chosen, and I wish you all the best.
Sucks for both you and the kid hope the mom won't screw him up
May God bless you and your son and give you the strength to continue on in happiness and love always💕💕
Enjoy the journey, sensitive soul..... 💙
11 days before 2025, who's here?
This song was popular when my Son was born in 2001. It will always remind me of his birth and how I felt at the time. Done my best with him & his younger sister. Hope I never fail them.
Gregg Hunter I was born in 2001 and my dad took his own life he loved this song I just hope u will take care and love your kids everyday because you never know when you can loose them.
My oldest Son TJ was born in 2001 also....August 2nd....this song reminds me of when he was born too....can't believe he is graduating high school in June....time sure flies #Memories
Cool
Same it's exactly how I read the song. I also sing it live . Kind of a nod to my children that I no longer live with but try to see as often as I can.
All u can do is your best mate . If your there for them then that's enough.
Believe it or not, I needed in this moment. ❤

Did you go out in the rain with your arms wide open

The question is, What did you do about it?

Lyrics:
Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is gonna to change
I close my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man I have to be
I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything
Oh yeah
With arms wide open
Wide open
If I had just one wish
Only one demand
I hope he's not like me
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it by the hand
And he can greet the world
With arms wide open
With Arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love

This song came on the radio as I started my car to move it from emergency parking in front of the hospital. My wife had just given birth to our first child. I was always skeptical hearing stories like this. I no longer am skeptical. Tons of emotions, this made it over the top. It still brings me back to that day. My daughter is 20 now. Im sure he was happy to have you as a father.
My dad said this song was for me.... After all the abuse, addiction, and pain he caused me. I hear this song and know exactly what he meant when he said "i love you". I never believed he actually loved me until i found out that this was his song to me. My dad is clean now and i hear this song and it hurts so much. Knowing he never knew how to love me until now
bless you and your dad.
As a father myself and a addict who is clean now for
3 years I can promise you your father always loved you and whatever demons he has he hopes he ain’t passed em on to you, be a better man than your father at the end of the day that’s all we want as a parent and it’s a shame when some fathers can’t conquer themselves and their own faults but regardless he loves you bro, take care

Dancing with my 23 year old son to “his” song at his wedding this weekend!

I'm sorry. You know that Paul the apostle who was the apostle to the gentiles (us) says that those who know Christ don't grieve like others who have no hope. What does this mean? If you believe in Christ fully, there is no need to grieve because we have an eternal life outside this place.

I had never actually heard this song before. I heard the Tobuscus parody in 2014 and now I’ll never be able to take this song seriously.
This song is a true classic & anyone who has ever brought a life into this crazy world can relate. I absolutely love this song!
I first heard this in 2009 and I’m only 19 years old, I don’t quite relate but the lyrics are deep
flow THE PREASANTS ARE OAPAAAHN
My son-in-law had this song playing while my daughter was giving birth. It was a very special, sweet moment and very powerful. I never knew that I would love this song.

Used to listen as a kid and I thought it was the sweetest thing a dad could think or say to his boy. Now I'm that man later on in life that's gonna keep these thoughts and give my boy the best life possible here for you. You will know love and also know the love of God. ❤
God bless you and your family 🙏🏼

This song was #1 in the day my son was born in September of 2000... He came out of me with his arms stretched so wide open... It was beautiful. This song always reminds me and makes me cry tears of joy. He's 23 this year and has epilepsy...I just pray he outlives me by so many years

I remember my dad told me a story about before I was born. He had found out that my mom was pregnant that day and he went to the bar and played this song on the jukebox. I’m 16 years old today and he’s the best father I could have ever asked for.
Jukebox ay! That must of been some time ago - I know 16 years 🤣
@@tonyholland7936 😂😂. Honestly not sure if it was a jukebox or a radio
I used to sing this song to my son. I am a mom and yesterday he turned 19. I am so happy that you have an awesome dad!
So he finds out she's pregnant and decides to go to a bar alone for drinks? Yeah sounds like he wasn't disappointed at all lol
I played this song when my son was born. He's going to be 10 this year

This is one of the greatest songs ever made imo

Love the song. He truly love his son and its beautiful song for his son. 🥰🥰
This was getting a lot of airplay still in 2001 when I found out we were having our first child. Filled me with emotion every time I heard it. Grown man in his truck with tears in his eyes listening to this song on the radio. My firstborn daughter is now a terrific young woman in her final year of college, so proud of her. Every once in a while, I think of this song when we're together.

One of the greatest Christian ✝️ rock songs, always brings me tears 😢 and uplifts my faith in Christ.
If you look closely there is a demonic figure when he enters that building. If it is not satan himself. Many think this a Christian song but look at the imagery.
When my dad would pick me up from pre school I’d tell him to play “the song”. This was me and my dads song and now that I’m older I realized it really was his song to me.
My dad dedicated this song to me to
