  • So yeah... I admit I stole this from TheVitaminBee, so all credit goes to him or her. I just adore this, and I would LOVE to find the original source, but I have NO information where this clip is from. Any information would be MUCH appreciated! I added some purple tinting in iMovie. Edie was the finest lady in the world.

Her family did not support her dreams emotionally or financially. She was an outcast. And her way to get them to notice her was to become famous so they couldn’t ignore her anymore. But it all fell apart rather quickly because her new benefactor was a user who didn’t care about her either. She was used and discarded just like a used tissue paper. The same thing happened to Basquat who was a talented artist.

No. Edie had a large trust fund that gave her opportunities that other people can only dream of. She (at least formally) attended a number of good schools and was well connected in society. The reason she failed and died so young was her heavy drug and alcohol abuse. She also seems to have had an underlying psychiatric condition, or a number of conditions, and these were not diagnosed and addressed properly. Everyone makes their own choices in life based on their abilities and means and she chose drugs and alcohol. Her dangerous predicament was also heavily and ruthlessly exploited by a number of people right up until the very end. She was used up and thrown away.

@@MowgliXher family cut her off. The only money she had was the money her grandmother left her. She was an addict, but Warhol still exploited her

You can really see why people were so captivated by her. I think she would've made a great movie actress (no, Warhol movies don't count!).

No-one seems to know where this is from. There must be a lot of footage of Edie that we have never seen.

My sister Gia Carrangi! There's a movie about Gia , and similar to Edie Sedgewicks story in that they both became heroin addicts about 15 to maybe 17 years apart timeline wize, being Sedgewicks takes place in the 60s , and Gia's takes place 79 to 84; Gia died from complications of HIV aquired from dirty needles shooting smack!

There is something about her that reminds me of Natalie Portman. Im not quite sure if its the voice or the mannerisms.
