“I want to reach people and express myself. You have to put up with the risk of being misunderstood if you are going to try to communicate. You have to put up with people projecting their own ideas, attitudes, misunderstanding you. But it's worth being a public fool if that's all you can be in order to communicate yourself.”

Jacno - Anne cherchait l’amour (1979)
Просмотров 4742 года назад
This song is “Anne cherchait l’amour” (Anne Was Looking For Love), the first release by the French artist Jacno, who was sort of obscure himself but helped many others to fame. It is the B-side of “Rectangle”. The singer is Elli Medeiros. She and Jacno once had a punk band called Stinky Toys. I hope you like it. If you *do* like it, please press... You now. If you don’t like it, that’s fine too...

Red Light - Siouxsie and the Banshees

Here is another film I made with the most impressive track Red Light from the Kaleidoscope album. I am a huge fan of Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Cure and Depeche Mode. This vinyl record is owned by me. I've owned it since 1980. It is mine. I can post it anywhere. It is called "fair use" in most jurisdictions. This is the analogue recording, the vinyl record, that I have made a film of. I use...
Taking the Veil - David Sylvian

Taking the Veil by David Sylvian, formerly the lead singer of Japan. I made this video as a test and it is my first attempt. Because the Lumix GX80 camera does not have an audio input for some reason, and because it's not possible to send high quality stereo audio into my iPhone 11 without a special hardware interface, I had to record the audio and video separately and then edit them together u...

This is one of the few I haven't made myself. I stole it somewhere. But It's so damn good I had to post it, because Edie died today, on November 16, 1971, exactly 45 years ago. If someone wants me to take this down, I will of course do it.

An Edie clip that I found somewhere on one of teh internets and I stole it. I did not make this particular one and I will of course remove it if anyone asks me to. Let us hope that the Andy Warhol Foundation will release everything soon. This was part of an event called "Times Square Arts: Screen Tests 1964-66" and was shown there May 1, 2015 - May 31, 2015. The ful clip is 4 to 5 minutes in le...

escribía sobre esta dama , pero no había visto nada, ahora veo algo de Ciao Manhattan con mi pequeño celular....
Marvelous montage of scintillating scenes! THANKS for uploading for us to enjoy!
Thanks for posting... Leonard Cohen, Janis, Joni, William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan, etc - so many interesting people congregated here.
Bone thin and strung out . Very scary .
I got this soundtrack on lp today in a grab bag I bought
I posted this 13 years ago. But yeah, it works even today. The music, if I may say so, is perfect, ideal.
❤ RIP EDIE
Warhol was a very calculating and toxic individual - but a great 2D tomato soup can replicator.
Beautiful Edie ❤
I really like her funky hat with the goggles, supercool
Edie + premiere symptomes track… my uni days try-hard hipster days flashback 😂🤦🏻
Eddie is super tragic. She comes from wealth and privilege yet it came with a huge price of messed up parenting and mental illness. She was ripe for Warhol to exploit.
the doctor couldn't resist kissing her sweet ass
she seemed very down to earth, zero snooty air like her father exuded
Shes so high in these clips
Edie spent most of her waking hours drinking and doing a number of different illicit drugs and also took prescription medication, so yes, she was always on some psychoactive, mind-altering chemicals. She made her choices, and she also had “friends” that had similar problems, people like Lou Reed, Chuck Wein, Ondine, Ingrid, Paul America, Nico, Brigid and Richie Berlin. That is the truth about what happened. It was Edie's idea of a life and no one can tell you how to spend your short time here in the world, but her lifestyle certainly caused her a lot of harm.
Beautiful video. Thank you.
Sister co owner of restaurant attached to hotel at one time, worked there for a time, she had room booked continuously, I was a Chelsea boy until 17, then fled the big apple, still visit after 50 years!

My friend, thank you for uploading these six parts, which was very fascinating to watch - sorry one of them was muted by the parasitical vermin. I would recommend not including what you have in the description, this might encourage malicious, false copyright strikes. if there is any true copyright holder, they will find you - but even then fight the claim by citing fair use.
Where did you steal it from?
I posted this clip in 2016, nearly eight years ago, and I can't remember any more where I found it. I think I asked the person who had made it originally and he or she said it was OK. Or perhaps I didn't want to mention who made it because it was obviously shot during a screening in a movie theater.
This was cool to watch. Thanx!❄️🌎❄️
Thank *you* so much! Yes, it is super rare that I find something quite like that. I only post things if they are really special, otherwise forget it. If it it's a standard thing it's probably already out there.
@@MowgliX Excellent and your standards are superb! Really loved it and watch it again!❄️🌎❄️
All these years and people still haven't figured out this guy was a fraud?
What guy would that be?
@@MowgliX Warhol
Then life is a fraud, all he did was frame it.
@@sharksport01 It has been said that "art is whatever you can get away with" Warhol is a prime example

1972. I checked in for 2 days and the second day there I heard a knock on the door. I opened it up and there stood Beat poet Gregory Corso. What turned out to be the opening welcome of my 8 year stay at The Chelsea. A Bohemian Disneyland overseen by a man with no equal in visionary thinking and humanitarian eccentricity. Stanley Bard.
🖤🔥
I wish I could find a complete version of this great documentary to download. It's a shame that RUclips muted the entire second clip.
Can someone tell me where I can watch this movie in full?
It's on Criterion
how i see it she was a very lost young lady . she would put trust in people believing that there was good people out there . but she never found it in her highs and lows and the rabbit hole of the people surrounding her dragged her to her demises
EDIE my cam
Edie was an extremely beautiful girl. Unfortunately she got into very bad company.
Nobody will ever again make clothes look that cool.
She was incredibly beautiful
Air is perfect for Edie 🕊🕊
I absolutely love this and Edie !xx
Thanks! I posted this but it was shot by a friend, someone else on RUclips. (Where did you go?)

She was so beautiful
I think, that when the collective public focuses their collective, destructive, hunger on another living being, they then therefore sacrifice the right to be shocked at the (any), outcome. RIP Edie, and Marilyn, and Jean Seberg, and, and, and....
The book”Edie” by George Plimpton and Jean Stein is very good, I first read it about 1982 and have felt very sorry for her misguided life. I have visited her grave in Ballard, Ca. three times while in that area. Gone too soon.
A lot of people have misguided lives and die young. The only difference as I see it is that Edie was very pretty. If the had been plain-looking or fat etc nobody would remember her outside of her family. That’s how shallow people can be.
@@MowgliX couldn't agree more........if she were fat or plain, Andy wouldn't have been interested. She was an anorexia, rich, spoiled person who wasted her life! But, she looked good
@@MowgliXHigh society w/ very sad humanity, the world lost a superb angel very young. R.I.P.
George Plimpton wrote a cover blurb far as I know. Ms. Stein interviewed me. for the book.
@@j.kittredge It was the first book I had read written in “oral historical format” - very clever and captivating.
What's the name of the song they play at the beginning?

My English Aunt Marion Sullivan worked there …
I believe this is the way documentaries should be done. You do not try to prove a point or create some sort of narrative. You try to show what reality is like today and what it was really like in the old days. You let people who were there at the time spreak and you precent this more or less unfiltered. If you don't then what you get is a fictional story and not a documentary.
A potentially beautiful lady with the underpinnings of a junkie
Edie was a beautiful wreck of a person. I think Andy was right when he said that Edie never really grew up.
@@MowgliX I had never heard her name before today and had to do a little research. My first thought was my gosh what a beauty but serious users and abusers have this look about them that just screams damaged.
@@Jeffsafe Yes, she was extremely beautiful, but beauty can be a curse. Like money, it doesn’t make you whole as a person. Beauty doesn’t last long and is superficial in the end. Edie was trapped in a 1960’s infinity loop, a time bubble with methamphetamine pills.
@@MowgliX and false friends who used her
@@randyrandall8274 Yes, that is certainly true. She should have *done something* such as focus on acting or a career as an artist. Instead she took heavy drugs, drank like a fish and did nothing.
