  • This is one of the few I haven't made myself. I stole it somewhere. But It's so damn good I had to post it, because Edie died today, on November 16, 1971, exactly 45 years ago. If someone wants me to take this down, I will of course do it.

    She had such beauty and charisma I believe she could have gone far but the wrong crowd and drugs ruined her.Such a shame.

      A.B. She was born into the wrong family. That's how she ended up in the wrong crowd and drugs.

      Everything that I've read and seen points to her being "emotionally disabled " in some way, in addition to being drawn to the drugs for self-medicating AND to party. From that viewpoint, she never stood a chance. All of the Warhol group were so stoned on one thing or another that they seemed not to notice her condition. Not to say that they were the pinnacles of mental healthiness themselves.....difficult and confusing situation, to say the least.

      Edie made her own choices. Unfortunately she chose drugs and an early death. She is not a good role model.

      Desi Chiffon - very nice thoughtfulness on your part. I agree, she WAS used by that bunch. Their only saving grace in having done, so is that most of them were just as broken in their own ways and may not have noticed what was happening.

    Where did you steal it from?

    • @MowgliX
      @MowgliX  10 месяцев назад

      I posted this clip in 2016, nearly eight years ago, and I can't remember any more where I found it. I think I asked the person who had made it originally and he or she said it was OK. Or perhaps I didn't want to mention who made it because it was obviously shot during a screening in a movie theater.

      What makes you think I stole it? I didn’t steal this from anywhere. Someone I know shot that with her phone. I then did some editing. That’s all.

      Like I mentioned before, I stole this myself, so that's not for me to say. And I don't remember who made it. I hope that person sees this. If he or she wants me to take it down, I of course will. Petty thievery is a very bad habit indeed. I broke my own rules here because Edie died exactly 45 years ago on this date - November 16, 1971 - and I wanted to post something in memory of her.
      You may use any one of the other ones that I have made myself, as long as you mention where you found it. Here is another suggestion. Pick a clip that is readily available elsewhere and that seems to be in the common domain and replace the audio, edit it heavily, etc. Do something different and creative!

      +MowgliX alrighty thank you and I will make sure to give credit where it's due. I'm striving for my own creative vision using Edie's footage because it's just so versatile. Plenty to work with :)

      I was searching for hours who plays the song. Then I found in Google News this article: www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/exposed-songs-for-unseen-warhol-films-gig-review-rock-stars-pay-tribute-with-original-scores-a7036521.html
      The next step was to find the facebook page and to ask. I send the message last night, and I got the answer today! I never thought that an artist would reply. I'm speechless. Thank you Dean Wareham and Eleanor Friedberger!
