- Edie Sedgwick and others, choice pieces accompanied by chill-axing music courtesy of Air, part un, edited in iMovie.
The song is called La Femme d'argent, meaning The Silver Woman, but also The Money Woman. After all, Edie was the Poor Little Rich Girl.
I first heard Air on a tiny little TV in a Paris hotel room near École Militaire, not far from the Eiffel tower, and was hooked within one minute. That song was Alpha Beta Gaga.
The scene where Edie is balancing precariously on that wall says it all.
Nobody will ever again make clothes look that cool.
This music is perfection
+Peitarchia pennylane Edie was perfection.
👍Indeed!
"Air" the silver girl- French band.
I got this soundtrack on lp today in a grab bag I bought
The book”Edie” by George Plimpton and Jean Stein is very good, I first read it about 1982 and have felt very sorry for her misguided life. I have visited her grave in Ballard, Ca. three times while in that area. Gone too soon.
A lot of people have misguided lives and die young. The only difference as I see it is that Edie was very pretty. If the had been plain-looking or fat etc nobody would remember her outside of her family. That’s how shallow people can be.
@@MowgliX couldn't agree more........if she were fat or plain, Andy wouldn't have been interested. She was an anorexia, rich, spoiled person who wasted her life! But, she looked good
@@MowgliXHigh society w/ very sad humanity, the world lost a superb angel very young. R.I.P.
George Plimpton wrote a cover blurb far as I know. Ms. Stein interviewed me. for the book.
@@j.kittredge It was the first book I had read written in “oral historical format” - very clever and captivating.
She was so beautiful
Marvelous montage of scintillating scenes! THANKS for uploading for us to enjoy!
Camera loves the Pretty rich girl
Beautiful video. Thank you.
Love the music Air
Thank you, Gina. I wish I could be more active here, but it's hard to think of something new and special to do, and Edie deserves only the best of the best.
Air is perfect for Edie 🕊🕊
Bone thin and strung out . Very scary .
My gawd is she beautiful
0:27 how can someone be so beatiful...?
poor edie she deserved so much better. But was so rich to be beyound her means
Captivating and brilliant!
Quand on connaît son histoire , c'est très triste de finir ainsi , elle était magnifique, une beauté au delà de son époque, elle avait tout pour elle, j'aurais bien voulu être son sauveur, mais 20 ans nous séparer.
I can still read and understand French (and also German) without much effort. Strange. I have not used it for a hundred years.
Isn't it "nous separait'?
how i see it she was a very lost young lady . she would put trust in people believing that there was good people out there . but she never found it in her highs and lows and the rabbit hole of the people surrounding her dragged her to her demises
escribía sobre esta dama , pero no había visto nada, ahora veo algo de Ciao Manhattan con mi pequeño celular....
Thanks for uploading this MowgliX. There is so much in this video I'd never seen before' excellent. thanks again! Oh btw the music was something else. ✌️
good job! the music syncs flawlessly w/ the images.
one of the best Air traxx as well ("le femme de argent"?)
VERY KOOL!
Shes so high in these clips
Edie spent most of her waking hours drinking and doing a number of different illicit drugs and also took prescription medication, so yes, she was always on some psychoactive, mind-altering chemicals. She made her choices, and she also had “friends” that had similar problems, people like Lou Reed, Chuck Wein, Ondine, Ingrid, Paul America, Nico, Brigid and Richie Berlin. That is the truth about what happened. It was Edie's idea of a life and no one can tell you how to spend your short time here in the world, but her lifestyle certainly caused her a lot of harm.
Edie + premiere symptomes track… my uni days try-hard hipster days flashback 😂🤦🏻
She looklikes a mix of keira knightley & suki waterhouse !
Edie ❤
All these years and people still haven't figured out this guy was a fraud?
What guy would that be?
@@MowgliX Warhol
Then life is a fraud, all he did was frame it.
@@sharksport01
It has been said that "art is whatever you can get away with" Warhol is a prime example
@@MowgliX Warhole and all his doped up lemmings
EDIE my cam
Tormented soul
A potentially beautiful lady with the underpinnings of a junkie
Edie was a beautiful wreck of a person. I think Andy was right when he said that Edie never really grew up.
@@MowgliX I had never heard her name before today and had to do a little research. My first thought was my gosh what a beauty but serious users and abusers have this look about them that just screams damaged.
@@Jeffsafe Yes, she was extremely beautiful, but beauty can be a curse. Like money, it doesn’t make you whole as a person. Beauty doesn’t last long and is superficial in the end. Edie was trapped in a 1960’s infinity loop, a time bubble with methamphetamine pills.
@@MowgliX and false friends who used her
@@randyrandall8274 Yes, that is certainly true. She should have *done something* such as focus on acting or a career as an artist. Instead she took heavy drugs, drank like a fish and did nothing.
Edie was an extremely beautiful girl. Unfortunately she got into very bad company.
🖤🔥
Who plays this music?⚘
The band is called Air I can't recall the song title tho
@@vincehenriquez680 La Femme d''Argent, which translates to "Silver Woman"
Can someone tell me where I can watch this movie in full?
It's on Criterion
I feel so sorry for her and the whole silicone injection thing :// she had a horrible life, and her relationship with andy was nothing but abusive
God knows I love Edie, but how exactly did Andy abuse her? She had very serious mental issues and Andy was not a psychiatrist. He was an artist and he made it possible for a lot of people to create art, act in underground movies and he also supported a band, the Velvet Underground. If Edie and Andy had never met, she would have done something else, but we have no idea what might have happened.
I feel sorry for folks spreading misinformation, she had a fine and creative relation with Warhol, the number one abuser in her life was her father, and she had metal sequels from it through her whole life. Barbiturates from negligent prescriptive psychiatrisation killed her.
I agree. He used her for money and her connections, then when some newer more shinny toy came along, he dumped her. Thats not a true friend. . But then again, He used EVERYONE he came in contact with. He would make money off of other artist by selling their work as his. Can not stand him. Overrated POS.
@@MowgliX Andy sucked the life out of so many people. Yes he had creative vision, but literally set up a "factory" to create the work, and suck the life out of others.
@@lauraanne5175 yes, thank you. He was a vampire, sucking the life and creative energy out of those he chose to be a part of his "factory". Then dumped them when they weren't of use to him anymore.
