What I love about your videos (besides your upbeat tone and that you do everything w/ tight budgets in mind) is that you get straight to the point. Quick and informative.
Wow! I didn’t watch the entire video and immediately grabbed a box I had around the house and made this divider in less than 10 min. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Absolutely love this idea. I've been wanting to buy dividers for my closet drawers for awhile now. I can make them myself instead of spending more. Thanks for the idea! :)
I use cardboard boxes in my drawers as dividers. It's alot easier. I have been doing this in all stages of my life and different dressers and homes. I am a huge cardboard reuser. I like boxes better than dollar store bins because boxes are square and no space is between them when I have them lined up on a shelf. I have large boxes paper reams come in standing on end on my closet shelf over my hanger rods and they keep my piles of jeans, sweatshirts, sweaters, capris and things from falling over.
I am pregnant and nesting like crazy.. I've been following your channel throughout my pregnancy..and my house and closets has never been so organized..and all on a dime from dollar tree and goodwill..you are awesome!
D: Thank-you! I've been looking for some drawer organizers for my dresser, but haven't been able to find any containers that fit. This will work perfectly!
I'm in the UK and our similar store don't seem to stock as much stuff as yours. I use cut down cereal boxes for dividing up some drawers. You can reinforce them by using the off cuts and they can be covered in pretty paper in you want to. I also use to use cut down cereal boxes to make little boxes for my daughters hamster to sleep in, they can gnaw at them and then be replaced.
I just moved in to my new temporary home (military), finally unpacking/putting away clothes, I have way more space here than I did at my last home and pulled out my iPad to look for "DIY drawer dividers." The point is before I even typed that in the search I clicked on your channel and this was the first video, you were reading my mind!!! Lol thanks for the tips.
i love this! Thank you so much! Your channel ROCKS by the way. I seriously want to get this started ASAP. Growing up I had a tall dresser with 4 drawers. Each drawer had its own things (socks, undies, bras in one .. shirts in the next.. jeans in the next.. and PJs at the bottom) It worked out soooo well! Now, my fiance and i share a long 3 drawer dresser! (we also have closet) I've been searching for a tall dresser for myself bc that is what im used to. Your project looks REALLY fun and im excited to get started. No need to thrift a new dresser. I'm going to get a bottle of wine this weekend and work on this project, lol. thanks again!!
I am so doing this week!! I have been wanting to organize my drawers for ever and have one diamond shape drawer organizer that I bought at Marshall's forever ago, but never used so now I cam bring it out of the box finally and complete the rest of the drawers this way! Thanks for sharing!
WOW! Great vid! As always! I started using cornflakes boxes! LOL My kids and I love it! I just believe that when there's lil or no money, necessity is really the mother of all invention! I've decided to 'homeschool' my girls for the summer (a sort of academic but fun summer school at home) and I want their 'school' supplies to be organized. There is a shoe box I got the other day which was too big for my shoes. I have a few cornflakes boxes that I'm going to use to make sections in the box so that each item has a home. That will be our project just before the rest of the excitement begins! Plus, pretty paper! YAY! And, you've guessed it: Kiddi Organization 101 will be apart of our summer 'curriculum'. They're 5 and 7 and they seem to appreciate keeping things neat and organized somewhat. I want them to appreciate an orderly life from now, even though, yes, there is chaos sometimes, but in order to feel even a lil grounded in all the confusion, there must be some element organization, whether it's a concrete area or a routine. I believe that can really help us remember our focus. Have a blessed day!
That's a good idea - I didn't think of using old boxes covered with contact paper! I have some old Avon boxes to throw out so I think I'll take a look at those - will be even cheaper!
Great idea! I would suggest using a ruler with a metal edge as over time the plastic can nick and cause jumps with your blade. Just love practical, affordable options. Thanks so much!
I love it! It's worth the extra elbow grease sometimes to save a few dollars. I had the spring-loaded drawer dividers from Target, and I was trying to put one of them into a smaller dresser and it broke! I'm not going to run out any buy another, so I might have to incorporate your idea. :) We love our Dollar Tree!
Found your channel from pinkos foxy. Love organization and diy. Just started trying to incorporate some into my channel. I have to do this for my husbands sock drawer and my vanity and you just saved me $50!!!
Thanks so much! We just put in a new kitchen and those dividers are expensive. I went looking for something I could do myself that would be inexpensive... I'm going to buy the stuff right now!
Awesome idea! I would really like drawer organizers in a few of my drawers but all of the drawer organizers I have seen are ridiculously expensive for what you get, like you said. I'm going to try this!
This Is a GREAT idea! I have been trying to figure out how to divide my drawers without having to fork out all that money and this will work PERFECT! THANK YOU!
1:19 I don't have a cutting mat -- or a carpet, actually --, so I usually make do with either cardboard from a box I won't be using or just plain newspaper (a stack of several sheets).
I don't know if I would have the patience to make drawer dividers look so nice, but I must give you credit where it is due....that looks really good and is so thrifty in comparison to those commercially made ones. Maybe I will make some eventually, cough, cough...I might have to actually organize my drawers first. ;-) You are most inspiring!
If you want to do a little more economical, I used cardboard from my jobs previous truck(they where just throwing the boxes out, so I salvaged a few) I cut them up and they work. If you don't want to deal with the notching system, I just used glue from my child's craft bin. You can add color/paint/liners if you want, but I didn't do anything special other than use a nice patterned duck-tape on the top edges and they are super adorable. Now if only you could make a video on a kitchen that doesn't have a pantry, and only 3 upper cabinets and 4 lower cabinets.
So glad u did this as I was wondering if this method would work. Glad to see it will. Off to Dollar tree for the board. Also if you're looking for another spot for cheap supplies you may want to check Roses on Independence Blvd it's where that TJ Maxx was. HTH :-)
You can also use good sturdy cardboard for this project. So this has the potential to be even cheaper if you get a good sturdy box for free...would be totally free if you just use the free cardboard and no contact paper. Great video!
Great video! I have been telling myself to do something like this for a while now (as I am not about to shell out $17+) and watching your video has given me the push I needed. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend! :-)
Not to make a rude comment but I had a spirit take undergarments from my drawer and then put them back maybe if I organize more they wouldn't do that! This is a great idea!
wow that's cool! I've looked at drawer dividers (I'm in the UK) and they are expensive over here too! Need a few dividers for various drawers so may give this a go - now to source the foam board... :)
You probably found some already but just in case - I'm in the UK too and made myself some of these, you can get foam board in Hobbycraft or off ebay :)
Hi Kathryn. Quick question. I did this for a couple of my deeper kitchen drawers and it worked out great, but my question is when I covered mine with contact paper (which I hadn't used before) I don't know if I wrapped it too tight but it seemed to change how well it fit into my drawer. How do you measure for this with the form board or did you make your board a little longer to account for this? I hope that made sense. Again I had never really used either of these things before so it could truly be an "operator error. Lol.
This is funny, I did the same thing to my make up vanity drawers a few months ago. The only difference is that I used colored duct tape on the top edge of the dividers. Great minds think alike lol. ;). Another great video, love your channel!
I'm so excited about doing this in my son's drawers! My dollar tree has the foam board too!! P.s. I mentioned you in my first youtube video!! Love your channel :)

So happy stuff stays on you tube! I’m finally ready to make this.
LOVE IT!!
My jaw is literally hanging open lmao this is BRILLIANT!!!!!!! Thank you so much for the idea I just subscribed!!
Absolutely love this idea. I've been wanting to buy dividers for my closet drawers for awhile now. I can make them myself instead of spending more. Thanks for the idea! :)
Love it! A couple of ideas: cardboard that you have on hand works just as good. Duct tape really helps to make it more durable.

LOVE that. Teaching kids organizing and making it fun. You go, momma!
That's a good idea - I didn't think of using old boxes covered with contact paper! I have some old Avon boxes to throw out so I think I'll take a look at those - will be even cheaper!
Cool video. Ikea sells dividers pretty inexpensive but this is a great way to customize.
Nice, I haven't seen them there.
Living on the edge lol! Thanks for sharing, I had not thought of using foam board!
Love that faux wood contact paper, great idea as always :)
Thanks my dear!
Great idea! I would suggest using a ruler with a metal edge as over time the plastic can nick and cause jumps with your blade. Just love practical, affordable options. Thanks so much!
I so appreciate this videos. I was going to purchase a couple of these but didn't care for the price. This is such a great idea. Thank you!!
This was literally the best one I’ve seen! Thank you!
I love it! It's worth the extra elbow grease sometimes to save a few dollars. Boo on that! DT to the rescue ;)
Found your channel from pinkos foxy. Love organization and diy. Just started trying to incorporate some into my channel. I have to do this for my husbands sock drawer and my vanity and you just saved me $50!!!
I found a great foam board at dollar tree for a $1. I was so happy. Cant wait to make these dividers.
Thanks so much! We just put in a new kitchen and those dividers are expensive. I went looking for something I could do myself that would be inexpensive... I'm going to buy the stuff right now!
Looks great...I love looking into drawers that are organized!
You are much more talented than me! I just use empty shoe boxes in different sizes to organize all of my drawers. Love all of your videos!
Empty shoe boxes rule! Those would look cute in contact paper, too.
Did you know they have foam board AND contact paper like that at Dollar Tree? I just did this in my baby's dresser a few days ago. Love this idea!
I love your channel so helpful this is a great idea I've been using cardboard lol do you have any organizing tips for preparing for storms
THANK YOU!
Yay! Happy organizing :)
Oh my gosh I have to bow down to your thrifty wisdom mama !! Can't wait to try this
I like how you used the paper to cover the plain white foam board. Good idea!
Love your channel! I will be doing this for my Grandchildren' s rooms. Thanks again.
I really like your budget friendly tips. In this economy it pays to save any way you can!

I’m definitely doing this idea in my home..I love DO IT ON A DIME 💯

***** very small lol

For sure! That's another great option :)
Love this! I currently have cardboard in my drawers. I like this sturdier option and the contact paper can give it a nice look. thanks
I love your videos,I am so inspired to organize my home. Thanks .
Great idea and I love that it is so cheap to do. Thank you Kathryn! :)
Thank you so much! I love watching your videos and I wait for them eagerly.
Una idea genial, me encanto pero aquí en México el foam board es muy caro :( tal vez pueda intentarlo con cartón de alguna caja
Could i use wrapping paper instead?
I love this! My kind of project. Thanks for doing it.
Great video! I have been telling myself to do something like this for a while now (as I am not about to shell out $17+) and watching your video has given me the push I needed. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend! :-)
Yay! I would love to see how yours turn out if you try it!
u can also use empty tins (i.e. altoids) to organize a shallow drawer, w/the lids removed.
What a great idea! Your videos are fun to watch too.
Awesome was looking into buying dividers but I also said too expensive to due all new 6 dresser drawers 😉
Hi, I've just watched this video. How durable are they and do you still use them or have you improved the design.
looks great Kathryn!!! Thank you!
Hi just love all your tips I done under my kitchen sink looks great keep the videos coming x
Love it. This looks great :D Love the faux wood touch.
I'm glad you linked this after mentioning it in the Dollar Tree organizer haul. Conner must be 3 by now
Not to make a rude comment but I had a spirit take undergarments from my drawer and then put them back maybe if I organize more they wouldn't do that! This is a great idea!
I'm a newbie to you chanel but I love your ideas, I'm a savvy shopper myself :-) greetings from London :-)
The contact paper idea... Genius!!
wow that's cool! I've looked at drawer dividers (I'm in the UK) and they are expensive over here too! Need a few dividers for various drawers so may give this a go - now to source the foam board... :)
BTW - posting this on July 4th so Happy Independence Day to all you people across the pond!
You probably found some already but just in case - I'm in the UK too and made myself some of these, you can get foam board in Hobbycraft or off ebay :)
sugarmeboo Thanks for the heads-up on where to get this foam board from! :)
Lol.
Everyday Organization I didn't have that problem when I wrapped mine, although if you had a very tight fit you might have to adjust for it. GL!
awesome idea....but no dollar store in my country..... hope to try in few shops.....
You are amazing! I love this idea!
Way easier to do if your drawers come out, esp if they don't open all the way, just a tip thanks for the video!!!
So timely, i just made drawer dividers last night too for my junk drawer! I used pinksofoxys tutorial though, i noticed you commented on her vids too!
Wohoo! I love Christine. She rocks the fabric, glue spray, and hot glue with these....and it looks amazing.
This is funny, I did the same thing to my make up vanity drawers a few months ago. The only difference is that I used colored duct tape on the top edge of the dividers. Great minds think alike lol. ;). Another great video, love your channel!
I live on the edge! Ha love it!! Great idea Thanks.
" I shouldn't be cutting this on the carpet, but whatever, I live on the edge!"🤣🤣🤣
hope your carpet survived😂😂
Lady, you really rock! This is an awesome idea.
Have you tried these in the kitchen? How do they hold up there? Great idea.
I haven't, but I think it would be worth the $1 to find out :) You could make a totally custom drawer for your gadgets.
Amazing, it's very helpful ❤
Foam board @ Dollar Tee...and pretty contact paper too!
Omg another great idea! You're so creative! Im definitely trying this :D
Gracias por darnos siempre muy buenas ideas 👍👍👍👍😘
Have you considered using any kind of putty along the edge of the drawer divider...just curious.
That's an awesome idea! If I notice them shifting I totally will.
Can't wait to try this! Thanks!
OMG great idea!!! Love this. So easy!
Great idea dollar tree has white and black foam boards.
Love the video & the new blog! Awesome job! :D
I'm so excited about doing this in my son's drawers! My dollar tree has the foam board too!! P.s. I mentioned you in my first youtube video!! Love your channel :)
Woohoo! Happy organizing and welcome to the community :)
Awesome, ty, exactly what I was looking for ❤
Thanks for this amazing idea!
Nice and thank you, always wanted inexpensive way to do this.
Love this DIY.........thanks for sharing.
Great idea. Dollar Tree sells that foam board - $1 and it is a big piece....dee
Yes! That's the best place to get it :)
They also have large sheets of this foam board at dollar tree!
I love the ideas you have. God bless.
Please do a video on your favorite coupon sites.
This is GENIUS!
how did it hold up?
Such a great idea😊
I’ve bought dollar tree fabric baskets and used them to decide up my underwear drawer
Love this idea.
Hi I love your home decor ideas, can you make a summer decor or up dates on your house? :-)
You should do a video on all the DIYs with foam board.
Genius! Why didn't I think of that?!
Yep this is exactly what I did after filming my dollar tree haul #19, easy enough huh? :)
Wohoo! Nice :)
Great job! Thanks for sharing.
