- A Halo story set during the events of Combat Evolved. Fireteam Expendable tells the tale about a group of marines who are trying to survive after being caught in the middle of the war between the Humans and the Covenant. Throughout their journey, they will encounter some unexpected foes and allies, and face a very harsh reality.
This is an episodic series that has been compiled into a movie. This was made with absolutely no budget except from my own pocket, and had no crowdfunding whatsoever.

I’ve gotten this as an ad, and it honestly peaked my interest, next thing I know I’ve watched this whole damn thing! It was honestly really fun to watch, you kept me interested the whole time, not just because I like Halo, but honestly this is a good series. It’s really tough for me to pick a personal favorite character, because I honestly think they’re all interesting. You all did a great job, doing this for 4 years must’ve been a challenge. I hope to see where this goes next, it’s always fun to see people make their own spin on things! So happy to have gotten this recommendation, and may you continue your great work in the future!
44:20 This is why I mainly save marines in halo, not only does it give me extra fire power and assistance, it allows me to save others from imminent death.
I know its just a video game but even so its not wrong to save something even if its insignificant towards the objective, and saving marines is no different.

Great series, although their walk animation is very "awkward" maybe something to work on in the next season

You do realise he changes his whole armour from mjiolnir mark V to mjiolnir mark VI and not just the helmet, right?

and i am already watching this again this time im watching it in movie form ahah i also shared this to my brother and now he is enjoying it as well. cant wait to see season 2. also makes me wonder if Season 2 will focus on halo 2 if so then holy crap we are in for a treat halo 2 and 3 are my all time favorite.

What if for season 2, you could use halo 2 models because it's season 2? Or not, your choice
The only bad character is the rogue spartan, should've been an innie to make one molecule of sense within lore perspective
but this is just my opinion, and if an official television show can do it, fanmade stuff sure as hell can too

Theory:The Spartan is half human half alien by some point during first contact or something, every human hatenot treats her like crap because she has alien blood in them and this was before human and covenant teaming up was a thing, Probably the prophet of regert see her have related blood to the aliens and since she show she hate human life and herself for being half,that why they allow her to fight with the covenant...just a weird theory:P
It ain't perfect. But you got one thing over on all the others. I stayed the watch, not sure why. But hell of a job with a hard job.

To younger generations this may seem outdated but personally I see this as charming ( I was born 2006 btw )
Animations are weird but yeah it's cool
3 and a half minutes in, I would suggest rewriting this scene.
The extreme focus on "friends" in a world of war death, and hardcore military training.
It seems seriously misplaced.
Also, 2 idiots in the beginning.
Bad choice.
1 makes it lovable, 2 makes it annoying.
Especially when these are supposed to be adult soldiers.
Just some critics from a fellow writer.
I appreciate the feedback, and definitely agree with your point about how making two of the characters idiots wasn't a good starting point. Bear in mind the first episode in particular was made about 5 years ago and none of the story was planned and was made up a lot as it went along, and I hadn't decided what each of these characters were like, and from episode 3 onward Hugo's character becomes much less of an idiot, and the other characters evolve more. I also agree that the way in which I wrote the whole "friends" thing came off as a cheesy high school drama. I don't see much to gain from rewriting the scene at this point as this has been out for ages now, and I think I should just learn from this in future episodes I create, rather than allocating a lot of my time in changing and retconning what's already done.

I meant rewrite as, if you were going to make a book of this, like to extend the information about the character and tie it into the lore of halo deeper and such.

I would say the reveal of the female spartan was spot on, and the tie in to the 2 other characters.
Though it was difficult at times to tell the difference between the characters.
Other than 2 or 3 original marines, the other marines all kind of blended together, vocal wise, though I'm sure that's just lack of voice actors, but even with lack of voice actors, the none marine characters voice were impressively varied.
I would, say, I liked the style of exposition and minor comedic cliche of the twin brother along wi the explained differences.
However the main character and Douglass, are still blank slates, it's almost hard to care what's happening to them.
I ran into this problem in one of my books, where I cut to action too quickly not giving anything any real depth or importance.
However I think you know this, because you made the same point when talking about red v blue zero.
So, outside of what my last critic was.
The only other thing I could suggest is, use the story that also already exists.
Make a key statement about say, the main character being attached to ONI or someone sharing a story about master chief saving them.
Perhaps talk about the inserectionists and mercenaries that halo always talks about but never shows.
Until halo wars.
Like maybe, have a character hint at noble team.
Or about what the spartan 2 project was about.
Maybe someone questioning the spartan 3 experiments which made up most of noble team.
And depend on how many time jumps your going to make for season 2.
Perhaps one of them runs into the arbiter.
Or they sign up for odst training that way you can show off the new animation style, with the old animation style as the flash back to how they happened to get back to friendly space and meet up with unsc officials, get decorated and so on.
Honestly I've imaged a halo fan book about following marines for a long time.
So you're really making dreams come true here, so however you choose to direct the story, I'll love it.
