Do you need to read the Halo books to understand the games story?

Halo trivia: There are many Halo books as of this video with some of them holding key information about events and characters not seen or spoken about in the game. This is one of the criticisms against 343 Industries with a lot of fans saying that to much of the games story is found in the expanded universe. In this video we examine every Halo game to see if you really need to read the books to understand the story in the games.
