- Halo Infinite is coming out... Halo Infinite is already here. On July 30, 2019, Brian David Gilbert set out to read every single Halo novel. He has finally unraveled all of them, but it's come at a price: No one wants to talk to him about Halo anymore.

It would have been far better.

@@mikecameron6667 he probably likes the show because the AI woman got cucked
No it would've been the exact same.
@@mikecameron6667 I’m about to start a full fledged immature rant on why this statement is wrong, if you play the games, you realize master chief is a stoic, silent, respectful individual, the show brutally assassinated his character, the show turned him into a rebellious, talkative, shouty moron. But more on your statement, the reason we hate to see him without his helmet is because not only does it disrespect the character and everything he’s been for the past two decades, its also utterly useless and the “emotion” they try to portray is just him being whiny or angry, it’s not master chief. You don’t even need to read the novels to understand who he is, halo doesn’t always need to revolve around him, Halo 3 ODST displayed this perfectly, it made the player enjoy the fresh take on the halo universe and find interest in character not known in the games. The show could have gone with that route, but we got a politically correct, utterly garbage, non canon joke of a show. I’m never going to see it as Halo, it’s a fan fiction set in the halo universe the show writers want, not what’s established, I’m no longer giving paramount my money or attention, that’s one way to destroy my interest.
Brian was so absorbed in the halo universe that when listing his qualifications for writing for the halo tv show he didn't even mention his degree in creative writing.

Seeing the halo show finally release, what a massive yike. Brian must have discovered a new despair when the show abandoned all the novels, lore, and everything else of substance. He really should have written it (after playing the games)
The show actually only abandoned things that had no substance whatsoever, like chief having his helmet in inappropriate situations and chief having stockholm syndrome about being kidnapped and brainwashed. The cool and important stuff is in the show such as Soren
@@BiomechanicalBrick You re a clown
@@BiomechanicalBrick the thing is that the helmet and extended suit are like a second skin, they’re even more basic to him then the clothes you wear, so of course he doesn’t take it off. Ozymandias.
They should've let you write the Halo show
I really would like to see even a short follow up with Brian about how the show turned out. I haven't seen it but all my mates who have and are also Halo fans were disappointed. Plus it would be the perfect excuse for Brian to put his limitless knowledge about the universe to good use again!
Master Cheeks would be an insult of Brian's commitment to this project.
"It's like trying to explain Shaw-Fujikawa drives to an Unggoy"
I don't know what's sadder, the sentence or the fact that I understood the sentence.
I laughed along with him at that line. Then I realized that I had laughed. I then swore loudly.
We are all in the same boat, everyone grab a drink.
Eesh. I truly am sad.
I think that fact that it made sense to all of us is the sadder part.
Facts
“Because God has cursed me for my hubris, and my work is never finished.”
Remember when he said that the TV show was made for Halo fans like himself who have read the books?
Well that that was a fucking lie.
@\f_a/ they clearly didn’t read or play any of the games because they fucking admitted to the latter and butchered everything
"bad blood. Sequel to new blood. The blood is bad now." Your words speak volumes my friend.
The fact that he started exactly 1 year ago is the most bdg thing I've ever seen
Exactly my thoughts
This is why I love him so much
I thought to myself, "Brian...are you alright?"
Keep in mind that all the unraveleds for the past year were done on top of this
You've underestimated the powers of theatre kids
The realization that the past year of Brian’s life was spent reading halo books recontextualize every single video he has put out
Just like the novels :0
Little did Brian know, the Halo TV show could of done with someone who read even the title of one of the books or even the back of the game box / digital description
The scream of terror gets me everytime
“Because God has cursed me for my hubris, and my work is never finished.”
You thought this an idle joke? No. It is real!
Petition to have an entire video on Brian just telling us everything he wants to tell us about the Novels so he doesn’t feel so alone because we care. We wanna know.
I cannot fucking describe how much I would be on board with this
Worst case scenario: Make it a drinking game. Tonnes of fun either way.
Right? I don't care if it's 4 hours long, just give me all those juicy deets
proud to upvote this petition to the weed number
As someone who has also read almost every single Halo book… I relate to this. Once you know so much there is NOBODY to talk to about Halo.
Please send help.
hello please join halo pedia for fun
@@derpynerdy6294 oh I use Halopedia. A lot.
"Uh Oh John..."
Im crying.
“July 30 2019”
Me: there’s no way he read that many books, write a script and edit in a week! Is there?
“July 30 *2019”*
Me: oh.
Is that a Hollow Knight mixed with Lego Star Wars profile pic?
@@zeng6042 definitely.
congrats, brian. you got my mom to read the halo novels, something that years of me and my brother infodumping halo lore has never done. i guess you're the favorite child now.
edit: when the hell did this gain traction
What an interesting family unit!
Wait, how did he get your mom to read the Halo books?
Hey be glad at least your mom can write for the show now
@@JoshuaC34 By telling her that John's suit doesn't jack him off.
Oof
So turns out Brian DID know more than the writers of the Halo TV show/
@19:15 if only we knew then, what we know now...
Poor guy…
"The average American reads 12 books a year." I don't think I've ever heard a statement more false.
books georg reads 8000 books a year
This is a primary example of why the average is far less important than the median
He also said the median is 4, which is fair. The mean includes people like academics and uh, Brian now I guess.
I know I am the wierdo here, but I think I read about 150 books since 2019? so I am doing my part to keep that average nice and high
@@adammiller4473 I'm not from the US, so I don't affect your statistics at all, but I had to ask someone else that reads a lot. Is it just me, or is it weird to complain about reading 25 books in a _year_ when he can do it FOR WORK. I mean, imagine getting paid for reading books! The Halo books are mostly pretty okay books as well so it's not like they are a slog to get through.
This man is a titan of his industry...Now if I could just figure out what that industry is
Ikr like what degree do you need for this job? Journalism? Media?
@@chrischin_94 yes
His industry is having three first names and no last name
Chaos
You just gotta watch his video about how to make 20,000 a month by being your own boss
The books instantly showing up on the table is done perfectly. Great acting.
Honestly, a longer version of this sounds pretty interesting... though it would probably mean BDG unravels his own sanity more having to reread the books
Cortana Being Described As A Vocaloid Waifu Is Too Damn Funny
Cortana = Hatsune Miku
Honestly the love story between John and Cortana is one of the purest ever told. Until 343 turned it into really bad erotic fan fiction.
Brian's descent into madness is a clear example why the UNSC discontinues their AIs after 7 years of service.
Oh my god BDG went rampant
They used Replika and the Royal Fandom as their Neo-key. United Nations Sec. Council pays anything but attention *coughing 19xs*
I have watched this video countless times throughout the years.
However, only recently I actually started playing the games in order, so far I've beaten all of them from Reach to Guardians, only Infinite is left
And boy oh boy, the amount of references I'm now understanding is just WILD
