Halo: The Final Words - Fan Animation

- Very loosely based on the event of Halo: CE and loosely based on a short story made by @sergioruiz733 I found in a youtube comment of a Halo CEA Soundtrack video.

I had to make a lot of workarounds to create this project because of the lack of assets, time, and skill. i.e:
I planned to use Halo 2 Anniversary models to capture Halo: CE's aesthetic much better but unfortunately I can't seem to make the rigging works so I had to use Halo Infinite's Elite models. Thankfully Infinite's Elite looks really nice.
The setting itself was supposed to be in the Halo's Control Room but unfortunately I couldn't find the assets needed to recreate the scene by the time I started this project. So I took some liberty to make it set during the first hour the UNSC and Covenant landed on the Ring.
So please don't expect SODAZ quality of animation. And it's been almost 2 years since I last touched SFM. My first intention was just to use Sergio's story as a Voice Acting practice but my intrusive thoughts compeled me to make it into a full short film.

Thanks to the Voice Actors and all the 3D artists who imported the models into SFM and GMOD.
Hopefully, this is only the first part of a full series in the future.

I must have watched this 4 times over.....this was beautiful to see and the General certainly earned the title of Zealot! His VA really embodied how I imagined him in my head. He had perfect movements and grace for his character, this was really well done and Im really honoured. You got it out so quickly too! Great stuff!

@@arquitensproduction8001 Glad to be of service, I do have a few monologue and scripts for a few Halo shorts if you want them. Specifically a short about a Elite Councilor and his advisor adjusting to the changes in the Covenant before the events of their deaths in Halo 2. There is more action in that script then the comment story I made in this.
@@sergioruiz733 Please do! So far a lot of people who have watched this really like the part that you wrote! So to have more stories as options to choose from you would be great. Would love to read that story about councilor as well since I have the model of them and I really want to use them in a story (still figuring out the rigging for it, though). Just like this one, you'll be properly credited as the writer!

Absolutely loved it! The General probably was my favorite character in this film, his fighting must be amazing! Also one scene I thought was amusing was at 4:43 when they were dropping down, the Blue Elite on the right fell haha. 10/10 Film for Halo!
Thank you! The general strikes me as an honourable zealot when I first read Sergio's (the main writer for this animation) story. I'm glad that I was able to deliver and do justice to his character! Hopefully we'll see more of him in my future project!

Thank you! The General's monologue was written by Sergio Ruiz which he wrote as a comment in a youtube video. I translated it through animation and voice acting :)
Amazing!!!! always loved the "general being respectful to soldiers" vibe, but seeing this on the enemy side is incredible, specially with the elite's honor and will to fight
Thank you! I've been yearning to see more Halo stories from the Covenant perspective especially from the Elites but there aren't too many of it. At least in film formats or games. And when I saw someone wrote about that character, I immediately thought to make it into an animated short. I too also love the respectful and honorable leader vibe and teaching his subordinates to be one as well!

The was great. The animation was really good and the story and dialogue was well made. The only thing I thought was a little off was the fact that the elites should have much deeper voices as they sounde just a tad bit too human here, but other than that it was fantastic.
Hi, thank you for the feedback! :D I used Rtas's voice as a reference since a lot of the Elite's main characters (H2 and H3) have deep smooth human voice but with subtle accent. However, I couldnt find the sweet spot to make the filtered layered voice they had in H2 and H3 to make it more "alien".
@arquitensproduction8001 The filter and the accent were actually really good, it's just that the voices themselves needed to be a little bit deeper and more baritone.

I'm new at SFM but this is impressive how did you make it so smooth and other animations stay in place??

It was mostly back and forth process. I did some blockings/storyboarding using step tangents and do pose to pose every few frames each (each 5 frames for example). Then I do some inbetween poses for frame 2, 3, and 4 then 6, 7, 8 and so on. Once its done doing a whole movement, I selected all the keyframes and spline them and do some corrections for the details :)
