These tyres are tight and I initially found them impossible to fit. Warming them up with a hair dryer for 5 minutes was all it took to fit them without levers.

Watched the video before fitting to Mavic UST wheels. They are VERY tight to get on but with the use of a single metal tyre lever they went on OK. I didn’t use a plastic tyre level, I’m sure it would have snapped. Also used an Airshot to get them to seat, worked a treat.

Lol, I did break one of my plastic ones but I'll take that loss.

The Tips and Trick section of the video describes: "“In individual cases where the tire bead does not properly sit on the inside of the rim, try unscrewing the valve nut and pushing the valve back”. What does pushing the valve back accomplish?

I installed correctly and inflated these tires to the proper pressure and went out for a ride,
2 miles into my ride my rear tire pressure went down. When I pressed down on the tire with my thumb I could hear air seeping out from around the bead. I threw a CO2 cartridge in which got me to work. On my 15 mile return trip it felt okay when I got home but i wanted to see what kind of pressure I had so I hooked up my bicycle pump to the tire and had roughly 100 psi. SOMETHING is causing my tire to lose pressure and I have no idea what's causing it. These tires are brand new and I'm not sure why this is happening!

Fitted quickly but used a set of tyre pliers. Fitted tighter tyres in the past which didn’t fit.

As much as I loved the GP4000s tires in the past we have to get honest here: Continental has been *cutting corners* to achieve their tubeless tires!
The sidewalls aren't reinforced and their bead isn't hookless compatible. Essentially you're getting a normal tire that works with sealant. Many people on the forums and on Reddit have issues with these tires: damage on the fragile sidewalls runs them inoperable!
So *not* a proper tubeless tire!

These are the world's hardest tyres to fit! Once they're on they're fantastic but not worth the agro.

Spent about 3 hours tonight trying to achieve this lofty goal. Fit the tire twice and used for and car tire air compressor. Apparently that is not enough though so I'll be paying a bike shop to fit my special tire.

@@RichardGriswold only three hours? You gave up too soon. If you can get them 90% on and don't need them urgently, leave them as they stretch a bit and become a tiny bit easier to get on. I ended up using three tyre leavers, fairy liquid etc. Then it wouldn't bloody seat. Had to buy an airshot cylinder.

@@tomholtom7811 about half of those three hours were reseating the tire and trying the low pressure compressor. Took it to a shop this morning and blew up no problem. You are probably right about it stretching and possibly the sealant that was left drying. A real hassle for a bike tire.

@@tomholtom7811 in the event you're bored on a Friday fun update. I actually ordered the wrong version of the 5000 the first time around. Fooled me and my bike shop, initially, as it didn't have TL on it. Now I have the correct tire and WAAAAYYYYY harder to put on. About an hour in to get one bead on and two snapped tire irons (plastic). To be fair they are possibly 10 years old.
