DUDE! Your setup FINALLY solved my audio/video problems, when all others failed! YOU DA MAN!!!
No problem and thanks for viewing.
Appreciate this. It's refreshinglly straightforward.
Thank you, I'm glad there's viewers like yourself that just understand straight to the point videos.
Awesome video brother. Class is in session. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT brother
Thanks for always supporting tim.
Tnx i forgot to set the passtrough in plex after a reinstall of the shield. Pretty clear and relaxt video
Glad it helped.
Do you have your Shield directly connected to your soundbar? I have a Samsung Q990D with 2.1 HDMI...Do you recommend direct to 2.1 HDMI TV or 2.1 HDMI soundbar? Thanks!
I tried both you plug your shield into your soundbar/AVR if you need or want all those audio codecs that your tv may not support natively. I recommend you try both and see what you like more.
Thanks king
You're welcome
I just got a Shield Pro and wondering how to get the video and audio info on the thumbnail pics of the movies? I see you have them and not sure how to do it.
You can try photoshop or a alternative it's all text fonts.
Still wondering how to Rip the 4K bluray and set up the Plex in the Nas so it works well in PLEX (NAS)-> PLEX (Nvidia Shield) with DV and max quality (So no transcoding).
Makemkv for 4K blurays Rips:
-> Can rip to Mkv-file with DV in 1 layer (Combines tihe layers in 1) -> What i do to only get the usefull stuff (Movie + best 2 audio + subs)
-> Can rip the whole disk (Backup) with DV in 2 layers (HDR10+DV layer on top like normal)
Well this is my understanding anyways.
So how can i get the full DV from these type of rips. Will Mkv-file Rips work (Give DV)?
Send me an email at peinuzumaki95@gmail.com I'll send some information on getting you started for sure.
In the resolution of the shield settings, I don’t have 4k 59.9 hz Dolby vision and hdr10. Mine says 4k 23.9 hz dolby vision and hdr10. Why doesn’t mine have the 59.9 hz? My shield is plugged into my avr.
That would come down to your avr you might need to change a setting.
What content on plex is available in dolby atmos? I went through a lot of the list and was unable to find any. Just a lot of old movies from the 80's and prior. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to all this sound stuff and tech
Content that is added by the users ripping their media to their server
You can add content to plex that supports dolby atmos. Email me and book a session if you're curious on all this.
When I go into display and sounds I dont seem to have the dolby vidion slider and whee I go to resolution I dont have the dolby vision option either. What version of the shield firmware are you running?
What nvidia shield model do you have? The 2019 supports dolby vision out of the box.
@@pein3480 Soooo, if I have the first gen Nvidia Shield (2015) - there is no support for dolby vision? 😲
Found the answer - it does not... So, when is next gen Nvidia Shield coming out.
I stick to aac or opus since I have firestick
Understandable.
I have full bit for bit rips on my shield Plex server 2019 and still cannot play 4k uhd Dolby vision on films I know for a fact are in Dolby vision. What am I doing wrong? I have all the setting the same as you explained in your video here.
That's a bit odd.. what is your video setup like?
@@pein3480 to clarify as well I am using the Plex server software that comes with the shield tv pro. Not sure if that makes a difference. Also all my 4k uhd rips are used in mkv container
I always used the shield as a client and the server was separate. Now I run everything in the cloud. What is your tv/projector setup?
@@pein3480 oh that is interesting. I will have to try setting up the server on my pc then. I’ll give it a shot and report back thanks
No problem guarantee you'll see a difference in performance that way and good luck 👍
Pls Bro make a video on: Best Picture settings for Anime (LED Screen) 🛐
The only led I have plugged up is my lg gysnc gaming monitor, perhaps I'll make that video whenever I decide to plug up my hisense u8g again. It's in my basement I just have to clean up the space a bit before using it.
@@pein3480 thanks brother 💗
Cheers bro
i only want this for its ability to play DV & ATMOS up to 7.1 via my USB stick
i recently discovered my LG G3 USB has issues with some ATMOS and it says"This video does not support audio", then it just plays regular surround
I think i have narrowed it down to the possibility G3 USB may not support 7.1 ATMOS (I am not certain), either way i cant suss why those files fail to process the ATMOS, and on other ATMOS it does fine,or there is something in that file G3 usb cant support
So i turned to researching Nvidia Shield Pro,ad Nvidea assured me it would support all i throw at it
Long rant short, will all those settings be the same if i never stream,i only want it to play my DV ATMOS (Some xs .MKV) movies,as Windows does not support Dolby vision
UPDATE
It is .mkv that my LG G3 wont support. Its fine with 7.1 ATMOS
I assume this shield pro is ok with .MKV
Thanks mate
External player will always be better in your scenario. A shield supports all the major audio that you would need and would provide more stability for you.
@@pein3480 Cheers bro
i am saving for the pro now
My luck is ill have it a week and the new one will be released with major upgrades lol
i still have some questions, but i am trying to figure em myself 1st
I am subbed and will be following
@@leperlord7078 You'd need MP4 files for DV support via USB.
Anyone having auto play issues with plex on shield?
I mainly use emby, you might want to check the plex forums directly.
So basically you did what everyone can do. Why do such a video?
Because the video got straight to the point and helped viewers down in the comments. Why type such a comment?
Some folks aren't very appreciative. You took time to do the video and help people; for that you a thumbs up and a sub. Thanks man!
Thank you comments like these will always be appreciated.
@@pein3480 Had a bad day. Sorry guys.
This is the only video on RUclips that give the info. that we need! Thank You brother🫡
Glad it was helpful and thank you.
