An old pack I had from years ago seemed broken and I didn't have time to assemble my own, but this inspiration of an updated all in one pack will allow me the chance to get it up and running again. Do you or anyone else here know how to force a different emulator to be used with this setup? Say for example, Galaxian, which seems to hang using MAME2010 after a few seconds. I tried through retroarch and used MAME2003 and it works fine, but can't seem to find how to get Hyperspin Android to change a default emu for one game. (Donkey Kong also hangs on 2010 after a minute or 2) Any ideas?
@@Moes_Prep_and_TechStill works for me. My external hard drive is formatted as system storage. I installed then moved all the apps in the zip file to internal storage. Make sure your hyper spin folder is in the correct place.

Has the NZB consolidated from the 3 folders listed in the first sentence to one file? Please assist.
I did the exact same thing, step by step... when I open hyperspin, the very last step, it asks for permission, I select yes and it shuts down from there. Any help pretty please!! :)

@@remydupon9965 Don't give up, its probably something simple. It sounds like hyper spin is the problem. Maybe try a uninstall and reinstall of hyper spin. What year and how big is your shields storage?

What did you rename it from? I used NZB Leech to download and when it unpacked everything the folder was named "chippos" instead of "hypersin'. I renamed it to hyperspin, but still didn't work.

Great video nice and simple to understand, When you copied to clipboard from your removeable USB for it to work, Do you still have to copy to clipboard when I have a external HD 4TB connected to my shield has my main storage with my Hyperspin files on it before I install them.
Works great on my Nvidia Shield Pro other than nes games which is only thing so far that doesn't seem to be working but might be down to me mucking things up, Am well pleased though otherwise
How are you installing retroarch on the shield? The 64 bit apk from the site wont install. Playstore is the old version and it says it was made for an older version of android.

Has this finally been fixed? I used to have it a couple of years ago maybe and after a Nvidia update it all just crashed, and it was never clear if it was ever going to be patched. Please 🙏 hopefully resolved

I'm having issues using the Nvidia Controller, like being able to start games once I'm in the game menu. It's like there's no start button. A button doesn't work to start games.
There's a start button but it sucks to use it, I personally have to lift up the plastic over it to use it, the start button is on the bottom between the sticks. In the end I got frustrated and stopped using it, I had a PS3 controller laying around it and it works with the shield.
I downloaded this but I don't have in hyperspin any previews (trailers) of the games. And on some emulators hyperspin is crashing (black screen). I installed now two times and followed your instructions. Any ideas ? Thanks
When I extract using NZB Leech it creates a folder named "Chippos" instead of Hyperspin. And instead of the files being in separate folders like "Apk's, Emulators...etc" everything is just in the "chippos" folder.

Great video. I followed everything you did and Hyperspin loads up fine and shows all the console listing but when i enter one of the consoles i get a black screen. Does anyone know if there is anything else i need to do like link retroarch so it can find the roms? I'm doing mine from my usb 1TB hard drive as i have the 2019 shield pro with only 12 GB hard drive. Only one that loads up is Mame.

@@mehmetgungor5776 Not sure why tekken is giving you so many problems. It has to be a software issue, the shield has more than enough power to play tekken. I will try to figure it out and get back to you as soon as possible.

Went through the download and the three files didn't show up like yours did. I am using 2019 and i downloaded the files but the files were already unzipped so i just ran one of the rar files and it asked me to pick some stuff from retro arch but when i ran hyperspin it was a no go. Yes, extract any one of the rar files with WinRAR and you should get the 110gb file. if you have errors repair with quick par. www.quickpar.org.uk/Download-0.9.1.0.htm
I figured it out, was probably something I did wrong on the PC side of things. The root Hyperspin folder was redundant. I moved(copy and pasted) the Hyperspin folder with 5 files further down on my usb drive, and then deleted that original Hyperspin folder and it worked. Took some extra time, but whatever.
The root hyperspin file you have probably shows one sub folder, right? You need to get rid of it. So once you enter that folder you're taken to another Hyperspin folder, with 5 sub folders. You need to copy that folder and paste it back onto your hard drive or usb stick, whatever you're using. Then go back and delete that original folder that showed just one sub folder.@@harbyoye
Hello regajitos and thanks for watching. Yes you can add roms from your collection. All you have to do is place rom in the roms folder. Example (USB Drive/Hyperspin/Emulators/select a console/Roms) hope this helps.
I've been using this for awhile, but lately it keeps locking up, especially in the mame section. Anyone have this issue? I uninstalled and reinstalled and still same issues. Any help would be great

I just installed this on my Shield this week. It’s a great-looking setup, but I have yet to find a way to create favorites. Having to scroll through hundreds or thousands of games to get to the one I want is a real pain. Which is too bad because other than that this is the best emulation front end I have found for android.
I'm using an Xbox Series X controller and just like other Retroarch standards you can use the LB to go up and RB to go down to just letters (Press RB > A, Press RB [again] > B, Press LB > [back to] A etc...). I would assume it would work for other similar controllers (Xbox, PS, etc...)
Hi hope this helps people.Shield Pro 2019,software version 9.1.0.Adopted storage 500gb,hyperspin 3.2 gen usb stick.Would not work when I tried opening roms at first.I tried again toggled off force install apps to external in developer options and made sure all .apk have proper permissions.Worked flawlessly then once right cores downloaded in Retroarch.Dolphin needs a Sys file in dolphin emu in retroarch,you download it from.Think maybe retroarch needs to be installed in the native internal shield storage not adopted.👍👍Ty for your great tutorial❤
Ty,also got Dolphin and Drastic working too.Adding my own roms,done a few systems using Dons Hyperspin Tools to create the database .xml,not as hard as it looks!@@kelleytech ,also merged some arcade from Bandits No Clutter image ,stills downloads pretty quick using Tixati and use the new .apks from Chippos.
Has anyone had any issues loading the videos / covers in the main menu? Followed the instructions but can get in and load the roms, but no videos appear for the game as if it's not reading from the media folder on the usb drive. Any help would be great greatly appreciated

It already contains the consoles and the games, the law here is that it did not come with roms and if it has them, in my case I will change the roms because the ones it has are not in Spanish. Mibox n any newer firestick should be more than fine to run everything up to dreamcast. I've done it on both but the older fire devices. I don't trust any of the new stuff

I have retrorch 1.8.9 installed on my older nvidia shield TV with udb ports. Loaded some roms onto a thumb drive. The nvidia shield TV does see the u. S b drive, but unfortunately, retrorch does not see it. I don't know what dev thought this was a good idea, Very mutiniesh Towards the end users. I've been tinkering with this on and off for Several hours. Irritating is an understatement...

is this working for Android 11 on shield Tube ?
I don't have one on hand to test but it should work. Just put everything on SD card instead of a usb drive. Hope this helps!

Didn't know george clooney did youtube videos!
Went through the download and the three files didn't show up like yours did. I am using 2019 and i downloaded the files but the files were already unzipped so i just ran one of the rar files and it asked me to pick some stuff from retro arch but when i ran hyperspin it was a no go. What could be the issue?
you have to unzip them files to a zip folder name it Hyperspin stick it on root of hdd or sd card /pen drive it wont work as a rar file
Has anyone goes This working on the nvida shield pro android 9 ? Because the issue was after the update the external storage would not read
Did anyone else have an issue where when you click on the games in Hyperspin the screen would just go black and nothing would happen? I'm using Nvidia Shield Pro TV (2019)

Just checked the file structure has no roms folder so it’s just the front end no games. 111gb of nothing but front end
Do you have to use winrar to first unzip the files? I just have a bunch of rar files downloaded
Yes, extract any one of the rar files with WinRAR and you should get the 110gb file. if you have errors repair with quick par. www.quickpar.org.uk/Download-0.9.1.0.htm

My Hyperspin folder says it is 111GB so I’m hoping roms are in it

Hyperdrive app says it’s not compatible with my shield version…..😢 anyone else have this problem when opening it up?
It says no hyperspin data folder found!
Then says valid location are "/storage//Hyperspin'/sdcard/hyperspin" OR another SD card path

I figured it out, was probably something I did wrong on the PC side of things. The root Hyperspin folder was redundant. I moved(copy and pasted) the Hyperspin folder with 5 files further down on my usb drive, and then deleted that original Hyperspin folder and it worked. Took some extra time, but whatever.

The root hyperspin file you have probably shows one sub folder, right? You need to get rid of it. So once you enter that folder you're taken to another Hyperspin folder, with 5 sub folders. You need to copy that folder and paste it back onto your hard drive or usb stick, whatever you're using. Then go back and delete that original folder that showed just one sub folder.@@harbyoye

Hello regajitos and thanks for watching. Yes you can add roms from your collection. All you have to do is place rom in the roms folder. Example (USB Drive/Hyperspin/Emulators/select a console/Roms) hope this helps.

I've been using this for awhile, but lately it keeps locking up, especially in the mame section. Anyone have this issue? I uninstalled and reinstalled and still same issues. Any help would be great

Version of shield.
You could download retroarch from the playstore, it should still work with hyperspin.
Will this work on version 9.0?

I just installed this on my Shield this week. It’s a great-looking setup, but I have yet to find a way to create favorites. Having to scroll through hundreds or thousands of games to get to the one I want is a real pain. Which is too bad because other than that this is the best emulation front end I have found for android.
I'm using an Xbox Series X controller and just like other Retroarch standards you can use the LB to go up and RB to go down to just letters (Press RB > A, Press RB [again] > B, Press LB > [back to] A etc...). I would assume it would work for other similar controllers (Xbox, PS, etc...)
No rumble support, which is a bit of a killer for PlayStation games like Metal Gear Solid 😢
I think if you get the nvidia brand controller, it has rumble
Hi hope this helps people.Shield Pro 2019,software version 9.1.0.Adopted storage 500gb,hyperspin 3.2 gen usb stick.Would not work when I tried opening roms at first.I tried again toggled off force install apps to external in developer options and made sure all .apk have proper permissions.Worked flawlessly then once right cores downloaded in Retroarch.Dolphin needs a Sys file in dolphin emu in retroarch,you download it from.Think maybe retroarch needs to be installed in the native internal shield storage not adopted.👍👍Ty for your great tutorial❤

Ty,also got Dolphin and Drastic working too.Adding my own roms,done a few systems using Dons Hyperspin Tools to create the database .xml,not as hard as it looks!@@kelleytech ,also merged some arcade from Bandits No Clutter image ,stills downloads pretty quick using Tixati and use the new .apks from Chippos.
Has anyone had any issues loading the videos / covers in the main menu? Followed the instructions but can get in and load the roms, but no videos appear for the game as if it's not reading from the media folder on the usb drive. Any help would be great greatly appreciated
Thank you very much, last night I installed it following the Tutorial, it works correctly on nvidia 2019 with android TV 11.
It already contains the consoles and the games, the law here is that it did not come with roms and if it has them, in my case I will change the roms because the ones it has are not in Spanish.

Mibox n any newer firestick should be more than fine to run everything up to dreamcast. I've done it on both but the older fire devices. I don't trust any of the new stuff

You could try to repair NZB compressed files with quick par. download.quickpar.org.uk/download.php/QuickPar-0.9.1.0.exe Torrent file seems to be working with Utorrent. www.utorrent.com/web/downloads/complete/track/stable/os/win/

@richardcraig416 Same for me, the torrent shows up with 0 seeders or leechers. Odd. Tried 2 clients on windows, Mac and my unraid server as well. (EDIT) Fixed. For me both Transmission and U failed but Qbittorrent grabbed seeding and all. Thanks for this as I thought Hyperspin was dead on Shield.

I have retrorch 1.8.9 installed on my older nvidia shield TV with udb ports. Loaded some roms onto a thumb drive. The nvidia shield TV does see the u. S b drive, but unfortunately, retrorch does not see it. I don't know what dev thought this was a good idea, Very mutiniesh Towards the end users. I've been tinkering with this on and off for Several hours. Irritating is an understatement...
