Thanks for walking thru the picture of what depression and feelings of isolation can feel like. Black Sabbath did a lot of songs about the different ways that mental illness manifests: "Solitude" is about loneliness. "Changes" and "She's Gone" are about the grief that follows a breakup. "Megalomania" is about that very subject. "Am I Going (Insane)" is a person who feels he's losing his mind. Other songs touch on the these issues more tangentially (e.g., "Wheels of Confusion," "Tomorrow's Dream," "St. Vitus Dance," etc.)
My condolences to you, there is a song titled Reset by Silent Skies that has been a soundtrack to the last year of my life. At any rate, I love what you're doing here and many thanks for continuing your work.
Sorry for your losses. It’s so hard to loose someone you love. It doesn’t feel like the pain will ever subside. I lost my daughter to an accidental fentanyl overdose and a close friend to an accident in the last year and half. I sank into a deep depression, trying to find meaning and trying to escape using marijuana. I finally understood that pot didn’t help. I turned to therapy, group grief meetings, creative pursuits, outdoor exercise and spending time with friends. There is light, but it can be hard to understand how to find it and live again. Music is also an amazing source of comfort. Can’t tell you how many times I put in ear buds or cranked up music to immerse myself into it. Every time I listen to Grief Motif by Fiddlehead, it reminds me of my daughter. I carry your heart with me I carry it in my heart I am never without it Anywhere I go you go

I’m so sorry. ❤ My heart grieves with you. ❤️ It is such an honor and privilege to have been touch by heroes who came along side us to encourage us to keep going. To continue to persevere in the battles of life, even if it was just to set with us. True Angels
Hi Therapist I'm from South Africa, 66 yrs old and a rock junky and never ever have I enjoy music meaning like this before. I stumbled on your page by pure accident. You rock girl do good and good will become onto you. Sorry my English not so good, I speak a totally different language (Afrikaans) Sorry about your "ouma" this is grandma in english.
I was a severely depressed teenager when this song was released. Unfortunately my depression was not recognised (by anyone, including me). I got no help or treatment. This song was one of the things that spoke straight at me and how I felt.
When i was about 16 years old i enjoyed the Song for its vibe never understanding what he was talking about. Now that i have lived through a decade of depression i can relate to this Song intimately.
This is the second video of yours I am watching. You seem like a really nice person, It must be hard for someone so young to understand the music many of us "old folks" grew up with. It was SOOO different then, a lot better if I'm honest. I am a lifelong musician/guitarist and this is the first song I played on stage with a band at 15. It was a talent show. We were so loud everyone was like WTF. The lady in charge was totally offended we played a Black Sabbath song, she walked up to me and asked, " Someone told me that was Black Sabbath" I was all like "Yea, why(thinking HELL YEAH)" She turned up her nose and walked away obviously angry. Within 2 years as a senior, I started playing clubs opening up for bigger bands. The next thing I knew I was doing so limited touring, opening up for even bigger bands that were on the radio, some of them cool, some snotty(Joe Walsh) But here I sit decades later and can't even recognize the world around me. It all seems to be falling apart. I truly feel technology advanced too fast for average people to comprehend and the elite powers that be are using it against us now. Today seems very similar to ancient times where lords ruled over the peasants and manipulated the people they considered to be ignorant. Trust me even just 30 years ago we literally had so much freedom in America. I now feel helpless and hopeless and drink way too much whisky. Thanks for the memory, makes me really long for the days of innocence. Remember one thing, you can't unlearn stuff. Once your brain has the knowledge there's no going back, ignorance is truly bliss.
You're so sweet, just lost my fiance a month ago to cancer, I gave her my everything!! She got sepsis from all the things they did, never told me what to look for, it happened 3 days after a procedure... Now her family is blaming me, but they never bothered to come see her. They loved me until now... It's very painful, I keep second guessing myself now. I never left her side. I will never get closure because they all blocked me, won't tell me anything 😢
From adv_mat: @jackmarrah977 Hi and thank you for opening up. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing someone so close, loved one, especially in such difficult situation has to be very panful and deep. I hear you gave your fiance so much love, attention and care and that is something that no one can ever take away from you. I know to little to comment on maybe why her family is going through grief this way, or maybe there are different reasons but for sure losing a fiance to you, and a family member to them might bring some intensive emotions. Each of us go through grief differently, with different pace, there is no simple solution or timeframe for that and that is completely within human nature. We grief cause someone was important to us so much. You stayed by her side when it mattered most, and that is a powerful testament to your love and dedication. Please try to be kind to yourself-you were there for her in most important times! It is normal thing to question yourself especially when her family reacts this way, but please remember something that you showed here- you gave her attention, time, love, yourself fully in most important time. That speaks a lot about your love! I hope, in time, you can find a way to hold onto the love and memories you shared with her. I know at this moment pain and this mess around doesn’t have easy answers, but at the same time i know you will go through this. Sending my love, support and hugs :hugs: Matt

Black sabbath can definitely put you in a different mood Great song and reaction
Rest in peace to both of them!

When i was about 16 years old i enjoyed the Song for its vibe never understanding what he was talking about. Now that i have lived through a decade of depression i can relate to this Song intimately.
My condolences and sympathy for your loss.
It's a classic. Literally over 50 years old and still sound like it made not to long ago. Why I love Black Sabbath.
Sending my love, support and hugs :hugs:
Matt
