Chasing a Covered Wagon - N.C. Transportation Museum

  • In early May, I visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer to check out their excursion operations. I was expecting one of the Geeps (SR 2601 or N&W 620) to be leading the train, but I was surprised to see FP7 6133 in charge!
    This beautiful "covered wagon" from 1950 was still going strong, showing how the Southern Railway embraced dieselization - ending steam operations only three years later. 6133 has also seen service as backup and helper power on the Southern's popular steam excursion program during the 1970's.

      @@nicenatalie_theleadershiplady he's not gonna go that far north to film Blue Mountain & Reading 425 just because you said 425... like 3 times.... that'd be like me trying to ask him to go film Southern 722 before her rebuild was complete by saying 722 3 times in the comments. not gonna happen.
