Thanks for hooking us Khmer kids up. We the new generation of Khmer love u and your mom for this! Love her cooking it's very authentic just like how my mom cooks!
@MsJadeci I've told her that I wanted to record her make that sauce for awhile now. She has some made already so when she runs out I'll record her make a new batch. So subscribe and I'll keep you updated!
They have a creamy version of the mud fish where its all chopped up for you already. So all you would have to do is chop up the peppers and garlic into the mudfish. The way we did it here we had to chop up the mudfish first, then add the peppers and garlic.
the way your mom cook is similar to how my family cook. I like the conversation between you and your mom..it is wayyy better than listening to the music that most people have in their cooking video.
My dad tells me to put Cambodian music, but I don't listen to Cambodian music often. Plus I don't even know what they're saying half the time haha. Thanks for watching.

I love how the videos have funny conversations.. well to me its funny but memorable.. I have a video of my mom mixing the ingredients for eggrolls and she's lecturing me about dating... lol... ima have to try your mom's way of making tirk prahok without the msg
Has anyone ever tried making bah hok with a blender? I appreciate the traditional methods, but it seems like you would be able to save ten minutes and prevent carpal tunnel by using one.
To be honest old folks always tell me the smashing and chopping make the food taste better but I feel like blender is way easier and also save time. Feel like old folks just stuck in their old ways lol
Lol this was one of my first videos. Now I try to eat at the end of every video. I don't know why. I think my viewers want to make the recipe more after I take a bite.
My mom says that she isn't mixed. Although my dad thinks that hes part laos. So I may be part laos. Pretty interesting since my dad can speak khmer, thai and laos.
You can literally use any mint leaf you want. We use basic mint leaves here, Green onions and we also used some sawtooth herb. Under the description you'll find the list of ingredients.
Hi Oun, was wondering if your mom does catering, or make food for certain event with an exceptional price? Would really love it, food of course would be paid too.

I'll be honest I'm surprise there no lemongrass or kaffir limes leaves in this prahok. Thought those 2 were essential. As well.

Is that the fish from the phok jar? can we also use the sardin in the can fom the asian market?
Vandy Keophonexay is that sardine fermented? think... if so.. try it
Oun, how come there no lemon grass for this? Or is that a different recipe? Just wondering. Thank you.
Julie Lu We don't use lemongrass in our dip. If you like it you can add it. Would be a good idea to slice it very thin.
Hi Oun, was wondering if your mom does catering, or make food for certain event with an exceptional price? Would really love it, food of course would be paid too.

I meant, now i know how to make it :-).
what do you use this sauce with
***** Grilled steak, baked chicken, pig or cow intestines, tripe. You can compliment those pieces of meat with lettuce, mushrooms and eggplants.
