Ingredients
Chili (Dried or fresh)
Pahok
Garlic

You use this dipping sauce to eat with fish or chicken as well as assorted vegetables. I also this this to eat with eggs. I'm sure most of you know what to use this sauce for.
Your mom reminds me so much of my grandma, she raised me.. thank you and your mom for making these videos, please keep them up for generations to come! Your mom reminds me so much of my grandma and so does her cooking and I have to say out of all the youtube channels, I love your mom's recipes the most.

Theres a lot of different versions but this is the most common version that my mom makes and it tasted like it always tasted, good. I have about 5 videos I haven't uploaded yet, they're kind of long but I'll get to it soon. Thanks for watching :)
Great video. Thank you and your mom for taking the time to do this video.

I love your mom cooking...she has the same way and steps like my mom does. Very good! My mom is far away so I'd always watch her cooking and I be making some good KHMER food ;)

Thank you for sharing. My mother use the same fish too in that and Nom pachok too. I've learn a lot from your mother recipes. It's hard to ask my parents since they are very far away from me. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing!!! I love all your videos and recipes!!!!
thank you for posting...pls guys, if you have different dishes..don't forget to post in this youtobe...I had learned from them lots...
I asked my mom about egg prokok. She said that she is familiar with it. It surprises me how many recipes she knows. I want to get as much as I can on video. We'll see if we can get to that one!
Oh man I want some right now!! haha love it too.
yumm...
Look good oum
Its so easy why not!
And your mom is so sweet!!!
sweet mom. I have a cambodian mom too but she always gets mad at me if i wanna cook with her
That sounds good lol. I'll ask her if she knows how to do it that way. She usually just deep fries or bakes the fish and eat it with this sauce.
No problem, hope you enjoy!
Thanks for the recipe! Im gonna try this weekend (:
Lol. Can't wait until our garden is full of vegetables. Thats when we eat tirk kroeung the most.
thank you for the recipe Ming!
Awesome recipes! Please keep them coming! My bf is Cambodian, but I'm Chinese; so I tend to cook Chinese/American food. He misses his mom cooking, so I try to learn. Unfortunately we have a language barrier and my bf is a horrible translator. It's even little harder to learn when she doesn't want to give out her recipes! =(
I also like to request a recipe tutorial. it's kinda like your Tirk Kroeung? but it's made with pork and coconut milk? They usually serve it with sliced beef and vegs.
Thats called pahok ktiss. I'll make a video when our vegetables grow abundant in the coming weeks!!!!!!
But that still looks bomb cuz that is 1 of my favorite dish
In its dry state, you can keep it in the fridge (covered) for upwards of 2 weeks. My mom makes Kroeung weekly so its always fresh.
this is wonderful
my parents would also make this with canned tuna
No problem!
My moms recipe she usually put steamed throp in the thuk kreung
How do you make it without the fish or any kind of meat. I don't eat meat but I love tirk kroeung.
Remind me of my ma
Is it ground pork with little green pea like vegetables? I might know what your talking about.
Your welcome.
yup, that's it!
Do you know what that sauce you dip in with sour plums, it is so good? i had it a long time ago when i was a kid.
Just don't add msg and see how it taste. My mom usually would substitute granulation chicken flavor soup base mix if she don't use MSG for other recipes. I'm not sure about tirk kreung though.
Ok this might sound weird but I need to know what is trey(fish) nyeat?
Are there other versions of this that don't use fish?
If don't have MSG, can use salt right?
Can you ask your mom to make Kapeek Pao.? I think that what's it call lol
dried fish... similar to fish jerky or dehydrated fish
Lol
Lol thats not right! She should be happy if you want to learn.
Going to have to stop watching these vids on an empty stomach....
Nope, never!
Bune lan biz dışkı yemiyoruz
this is wonderful
