Those wages are still low for pilots, especially those that are experienced. As a country we must start paying skilled and professional labor to international standards or we will lose them to other countries
The wages are even better than the average pay for pilots in some developed countries. I say if you are young and need a job, this is your opportunity. KQ trains.
So how does 1.6M turn into 500k gross? This is pretty poorly researched. 4000 dollars a month gross is a terrible wage for someone who has spent all those years and tens of thousands of dollars in flight school. After taxes these guys are making half what a basic MCA politician earns. Ask yourself who is more valuable and educated; the pilot or the MCA?
True 30K house allowance is peanuts for a Captain of an airliner. They should have at least 150K housing allowance and more benefits befitting their positions.
In Kenya, pilots, MPs , MCA's. senators, governors, CSs etc are paid alot of money than even more than what their counterparts in South Africa which has stronger economy than Kenya get. It's better salaries are taxed heavily and governments invest in reducing cost of living
First, the recent strike had nothing to do with their salaries, rather their pension which is part of their contract. Secondly, there is no connection between KQ losses and pilot salaries(which btw are below international standards, and in some cases below most Wilson pilots standards). It's just baffling that you mention poor performance and somehow paint the pilots as the culprits.
Dude you are throwing dust in to our eyes..160.000 Dollars per Month..😱😱😱.. Lufthansa The salary starts at €98,229 per year and goes up to €125,719 per year for the highest level of seniority... Today almost every thing is transparent..when componies are privetised..so every knows what others earn..so don't tell us a stories that even fools cannot listen.. How can an Airline exist when it has 414 Pilots and only 38 Airplanes??

Ethiopia airlines pilots earn less than these KQ pilots and it's a more superior airline, talk of greedy KQ pilots. The aviation world is still recovering from the pandemic and this is how they start acting.
Ethiopia is a crappy country with no economy and eternal war. They can’t afford real pilots for Ethiopian Air. The KQ pilots deserve every penny of their salaries and this recent industrial action is not about wages.. it’s about the Govt screwing them over on pension allocation and reneging on promises.
Very poor review. You accounted for only about 520K as the highest limit yet you mentioned KES 1.6M. Do your research properly, otherwise poor content.
In the United States, the average salary of a pilot is $ 130,440 per year ($ 10,870 per month). If the Kenyan pilots are earning ksh1.6M per month, that’s equivalent to almost $14,000 per month using the current exchange rate. I think the pilots are being greedy. Young people should apply to get those vacancies.
You never listened carefully. You've assumed the average pilot salary in Kenya 1,6million and that's for the captain which is not true. That's for the captain.

Kenya yetu my friend. The ones who work hard r not paid better..The land of hyena politicians n vultures
Pilot is more educated than any MCA
@@hassancharo1496 some MCA's like myself have PhD.Its not necessarily true that all pilots are more educated than MCA's.😄

Aah samahani mkuu...zero error hiyo🤣🤣 my math is very hot air.
Our current exchange rate is KES 120 for every US Dollar. so Kes1.6M is $13,179.57
Is that the monthly or annual salary?

414 pilots for 32 aircraft? Someone make me understand

This research is not credible.
Poorly researched. Pilots don’t make $160,000 per month.
160000$ seriously ??? 😂😂
Really? 1.6M ksh is $160,000 should check out your facts before you say anything because I find this misleading
Do your research well comedian..what is dogging kq is not the pilots..
Very poorly researched content. How does the 1.6M salary turn into 483K?
what of hostes salary

$160,000 per month?they don't earn even 10% of that! Even shs 1.6m is extremely difficult to achieved if the roster is prudently planned.

Not true. Many KQ pilots I know have gone to Ethiopian airline for greener pastures! The salaries shown here are FAKE.
