      Kenya is a Black state. You don't expect to see whites in a 54 Million populated black state doing such jobs. From the Media,Aviation,Hospitality,Government,Military, Banking to Academics its the black race running the state & region, There is no white factor there.East Africa itself having a population of 300 Million melanated people, You'd Sound dumb talking in that black minority western tone.

      I know it is rear but Delta has a has a few set as you described. Caribbean Airlines share the same compliments aswell but unfortunately, it's only one set. One pilot from Jamaica and the other from Trinidad.

To me his comment says that he is happy that somewhere in the world black people have opportunities to achieve at a high level and that makes him happy.
      Let me say this as a Kenyan woman: It is amazing even for me to see an all BLACK FEMALE crew it gives me courage to strive.
      His comment was nice with positive intentions.

Ethiopian Airlines was the first airliner in Africa to receive the dream liner 787 AND it was the second in the world (next to Japan Airways) to receive Boeing 787. Captain Amsale of Ethiopian Airlines was among those first batch of qualified captains of Ethiopian Airlines for Boeing 787.

      @@KingoftheRoad-2023 They mentioned gender particularly with Capt. Mutungi because there is a history to it. I'm personally proud of all female pilots. All flights I have flown in my whole life I have only heard one female captain. It's still a male dominated industry but hopefully these women and all other female pilots are breaking barriers for other aspiring women. I don't think she meant that statement in a negative way.

Captain Mwaura is a living legend, one of the best to fly our colours. I remember meeting him back when I was in high school, at Mang'u High School. He was the guest of honour, for a certain function.

    As a black woman, I am proud to see black women getting away from the office jobs and other jobs that were only available to them. Thanks to the parents who have worked very hard to support their daughters with their education so that they could reach such great heights. For a society like Africa where men seem to be in charge, I am glad that things are changing. Nevertheless, she was a pilot for 19 years, which means things have been changing for some time now. Congratulations to these ladies. I wanted to be a flight attendant, but never got the opportunity, but my nephew became a pilot and my niece, a flight attendant.

My mother was very much Colonial stock, and would have a fit with a) Africans flying planes, and 2nd women (known locally as Bebe's) . I was not allowed to speak Swahili, and I so much regret that part of my upbringing. Well done ladies, I would feel safe anytime, not like PIA 8303

    I flew Kenyan Airway from Australia to Lagos. Everything was just 5 star. The captain was professional top notch and spoke with so much clarity and calmness. The hostesses were so nice, not argumentative and all announcements were clear in clear language. I watched also African and Nigerian movies . Best flight ever . Am proud of Kenyan Airway

    My husband traveled with Kenya Airways while returning back to Canada he connected in Amsterdam with KLM. On his way to Africa he traveled with Canada Air and connected within Lufthansa to Kenya. His experience was Kenya Airways gave the best of service. Watching this wonderful ladies l have no doubt next time l travel l will definitely connect with Kenya Airways.

      It;s called SOP, standard operating procedures,, based on what was learned from hundreds of air crashes, with thousands killed.. due to sloppy procedures, pilots.. drunk, drugged, hung over, fatigued, outside problems affecting concentration, below standard etc etc. Today.. nearly every flight would be operated with this professionalism (Rtd Airline Check Capt. East African Airways. 1963 to1973. DC3. F27, Comet IVc, SVC10)

    Flew with Kenyan Airways from Lagos to Johannesburg via Nairobi and return from Johannesburg to Lagos via Nairobi in October/November 2015, I would recommend Kenyan Airlines to anyone, they really did everything to make all flights a truly a superb experience.

    The captains father flew us twice from LHR-NBO back in 1989 in the Kenya Airways a310 back in 1989 and 1990. We were also invited to see the cockpit inflight. Great to see his daughter flying!

    Very inspiring, professional ladies! Was on several trips Liberia to Nairobi flown by Captain Koki Mutungi, the landings were smooth, she handled the aircraft like a baby. Keep it up!

    For many years Captain Mutungi was the sole lady flying the 767 as the F/O,they had a sole lady engineer as well..Paula came from Air Kenya if am not wrong..she must have logged in thousands of hours flying no doubt..proud of the ladies

    i remember flying over Lake Victoria from Addis Ababa to Johannesburg and thinking we were flying over the Indian ocean, the lake was so big. So proud of these amazing Ladies such an inspiration for young girls everywhere

    I had two women, one Egyptian as the captain on an A380 flight from Dubai to Casablanca. Not an issue, our captain was Emirates first female A380 captain. Her brothers and father were all pilots.

    I flew Into Kinshasa with Kenya airways.. one of the best flight in Africa.. started getting attracted to fly with Kenya airways in 2020 from Johannesburg to Nairobi was the best fly i had with a female captain and landing to Kenya so was amazing, since then I flew Kenya airways about 4 times. It's my African flight.Eric K

    Great pre-flight inspection by the lady pilot, she is thorough. The captain and the first officer are great with their communication and flight status and checks. surely feel safe with them at the controls.

A polite correction though Mwanza Tanzania isn’t a small town with most people doing fishing only, rather a city and buzzing commercial one. Otherwise Kudos Captain
