Animals on the Runway - Masai Mara Fly-in Safari Adventure

- Join me for an amazing fly-in safari to the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. I flew on the Safarilink Cessna Grand Caravan from Nairobi Wilson Airport. Within 20 minutes of departure, the landscape and scenery changed dramatically; grass became greener and I spotted a group of elephants while flying low over the national park. It is really Africa bush flying! There are a total of 11 active airstrips in the Masai Mara area. My flight made a stop at Kichwa Tempo to drop off tourists before continuing to Mara Serena where I am staying.
I spotted some Giraffes on landing at the dirt strip airfield as there is no fence at the airport. After landing, I did an amazing safari and spotted the Big 5 animals. The next day, I flew back to Nairobi on the Safarilink Dash-8-100 seated behind the pilots in the cockpit on the milk run.

Sam looking genuinely happy and relaxed. I was born in Kenya during Colonial times, to British parents.learnt to fly at Wilson, became a bush pilot at 19 years, for 2 years, then left and joined Gulf Air in Bahrain, for 30 years. Great fan of your channel, thank you.
Kenya is a country blessed by God! I flew many times from Wilson it's an amazing airport especially the east African aviation club

I loved this vlog. I have been to Masai Mara on the same flight and had such fun. so lush and green with healthy wild life. No safari like in E. Africa . I was born in E.Africa so safari was part and parcel of my life. I love your Safaris series.

Kenya is a magical place....there's a national park just 15 mins from the capital withe the best view....it should be everyone's bucket list around the world to visit the Mara and other amazing sites in Kenya.

National Park is within the capital. The main entrance to the park is less than 15 minutes from the airport.
In the early 2000s I'd see giraffes and zebras before the airport exit everyday I was working. Beautiful days those were.
As a Kenyan I have to say this is an awesomely good video... Anybody who can make it here has to visit the MARA at least once in their lifetime and especially do the game drive. You will live to remember.. Thank you Chui..

As a kenyan I will say this for a country of our size we have every type of realizable geographical area possible, safari, tropical, snowy, coastal, desert, plus if you want to go to mara, use the road better than flying

Sam, Masai is a tribe and they live in Masai Mara. I thought you knew that. The question you asked them surprised me. They are nomads and you were in their territory. I wish you had gone to visit their huts how they live in Masai Mara. It is fascinating. I have done that.
