This looks like the Star Trek: Armada (Real-time strategy) game series. They definitely did get the visuals and sound effects from Star Trek: Armada I & II.
For Sins of a Solar Empire you can install the Armada 3 Mod :)

The Nova class was actually the original design for the Defiant class, but they shelved that design for the different look they ended up going with. They later used the Nova class design for the USS Equinox in Star Trek Voyager. The Nova class can be fitted with aft torpedoes and set up to be an effective fighter. The Equinox wasn't equipped with those abilities though as it was only used for scientific missions when it was taken by the Caretaker.

Venture class was a scout in Star Trek: Armada 2 (my favorite old star trek game)

Maaaan, that takes me back, though I found myself staring at the textures to see if anything had been reused from the old Sacrifice of Angels mod. Old habits die hard.

Skullost if your buying the game for the mod I would wait anyway at the moment it only has skirmish battles... so what you see in this video is practically most of what the game is

I dont know if anyone said it, but I am sure someone did - the fighters from the Playstation game were called Valkyries, and if they would put those in a mod I bet the subscription t it would double. Venture is a scout ship, more like a runabout. Peregrine is supposed to be the "fighter", but is supposed to be more like a corvette since it has a crew of 3-5.

The Saucer separation was too expensive to do every time there was a battle so they only did it a few times, Personally I'm glad they only did it a few times as I thought it was a stupid gimmick except when used in Generations to save everyone when the stardrive was about to explode
when I heard "Just tell me where to go" my mind went straight to Homeworld: Cataclysm... ah the memories... (I think it was the Recon who said it?)

Cool. Do the original series era. Stay focused on single ships for longer and get more cinematic shots of them firing instead of hopping around, if you can.

So...not gonna lie, I've lost count of how many times I nerdgasmed in this.
shack some advice for miners if there is 2 asteroids use 4 and just have it be the number of asteroids times 2 as it is the most effective way that I have found
i have talked with one of the devs and he said that they will make so the phasers are good against shields and torpedos are good vs the hull

Interesting. I like Sins of a Solar Empire, and ive been playing a couple of the mods for it that Shack has highlighted, but I dismissed Homeworld because it didn't seem all that exciting as far as actual space combat. However I might give it a look see based off this.
Rodney Gaul The problem from what ive seen is that the majority of mods are for Homeworld 2 classic, not the remastered edition.
Its only natural as the classic version has been out for well over a decade (12-13 years)
With any luck they will release the mod outside of the s̶h̶i̶t̶t̶y̶ Steam Workshop for us folks who bought the game through Good Old Games instead...

If you do some digging perhaps you could find a way to get it from the workshop.
Tell you what mate, I'll be installing this tomorrow via the workshop. Once I've got it all installed I'd be happy to take a copy of the mod files and stick them on a hosting site for you.

I'm new to this - I have played Homeworld once, years ago, but there was no "Beginner" mode so I pretty much got wiped out every time. I did eventually get better with it - but never did reach the end of the story. As a Star Trek fan - this looks great! But I suspect this mod also assumes everyone who plays is an Expert. I may try it anyway - where do you get it? (BTW: I would prefer the TOS and TMP eras.)

there seems to be a bug where the ore harvesters are crashing into asteroids and dying very frequently, really sucks having to micromanage resources because of that... once fixed this will be an awesome mod though

STO is alot more entertaining than this game but I know Shack loves these type of games.

Is this worth getting if I'm running windows 10? I'm having issues with the Star Trek mod for sins on my comp.
1) you needed fewer federation ships to cardasian ships because the mod is properly balanced. Cardassian tech is 50 years behind the federation in the prime uni.
2) Akiras are designed to be light and nimble. Armour is something they dont have much of.
Is it just me or do the "Vessels under attack" and "Course Heading" voicelines sound like T'pol?

For some reason all the ships in remastered are see through for me and the classic homeworld just don't work any answers to why this is happening

Hey Shack, can you take a look/make a video on Star Trek New Horizons? It is a Star Trek mod for Stellaris. It has a Star Trek Galaxy map, which lets you play through all the series, and your ships change as you go through the game, from ENT style onward. Currently I am in the late 22nd Century, and already have TOS Constitution-class cruisers. And there are tons of factions as well. You can even make a Federation with the founding members of the actual Federation.
Yes that would be very cool. Later there is an event so you can control the andorians vulcans and tellarites
Yeah i just hit that. Then ran into a bug where i can invite more factions, but it just makes a coalition, and i cant invite them completely into the federation
the steam version is EXTREMELY broken now idk about moddb though im trying to use that now

hey I got a question my home world keeps freezing on the launcher I did a fresh install and that didn't seem to help...any ideas why it's doing that?

Well, I can read it on my phone, so...
Take into account he is playing in a ultrawide monitor at 1440p, it might seem small unless you are watching on full screen, and even then it might seem small unless you have an ultrawide too.
In-game the text and interface is adjustable. As for the vid, what @wrathchild said.
