Superb review, Mike! You always create quality content.
Always great information thank you spending the time to do a deep dive.
Quite amazing. Thank you for helping us figure it out.
This is such a well made and thought out plugin. Insane feature depth while keeping high usability and an intuitive UI that also looks great AND provides really useful metering information. Impressive.
This song is going to be in my head for weeks. Great video, Mike!
I've heard it so many times by now in other mike's videos 😅🤣
Hi Mike, I am a bit late to the Basslane Pro party but what an amazing tool is this. Thank you so much for your detailed demonstration, much appreciated!
Good morning Mike, and glad your covering this plugin 🙌🏼
Cheers!
Love this song ❤
This is a powerful tool if used correctly. It does look confusing, but it is actually very carefully, smartly labeled and work as advertised. We are in an era where wide bass is the trend but if you understand the low end, it doesn't have to be the real low end that is widen but sounds like it is without any phase problem. This plugin does that really really well.
There is no other tool for low end that comes close to this
Great song and beautiful voice...
This is a to p5 favourite plugin of all time for me. You can get euphonic sound out of your masters. Loooove it
I have to say it´s the third of their plugins I love !!!! this one is a also big time
This is AMAZING plugin!!! 😳😍
Yes!
the bass groove reminds me of The Gap Band, thx again Mike
Mike, you do an incredibly thorough and detailed job in explaining plugins and what is going on under the hood. Thank you!
i must agree here
Cheers!
Amazing.
Thanks Mike!
Cheers!
Was expecting this 😎🥳🥳
Cheers!
Wow, seems to make everything a little more 3D with clarity!
Yes!
Great Vid Thanks
Cheers!
Holy shit..... Did you just demonstrate a mastering plugin on a mastering project??? Imagine that!! Who's been asking for that for years?!?!?!?!?!?
Hahaha!
amazing plugin
Yes!
SUPER!!!!!!! GOOD VIDEO!!! THE BEST!!!!!!!
Cheers!
Bassrift and this is the go to bass.
Great content . Wish i could use this setting to work for tiktok live streaming 😊🙏
I would buy just for the ballistics alone...very informative
All of the Tone Projects plugins are amazing in this way
Hi Mike,
How would you compare this one to Expand3d from United Plugins? Would you say it is mostly redundant to purchase Basslane if I have the other?
Am i the only one that feel that this is one the most complicated plugin ?. Need to watch this video few more times . Thanks Micheal . Like always ,dissecting the plugin to atom's : )
Perhaps I could've taken a simpler approach, but it is very much a micro-managing plugin for a very difficult frequency zone.
@@mixingwithmike You explained it well. There's just a lot to wrap your head around.
Where on the mix bus chain would you suggest this go?
Hi Michael. Thanks for another helpful review. A question; do you do much mid-side processing in your work flow? What's your philosophy or approach to it? Thanks.
Yes, especially with EQ in mastering and width processing. Occasionally, I do M/S compression but only if the mix requires it.
How does this plugin compare to Nugen Monofilter?
I wasn't able to find the final version of this song? Was it ever released? Anyone know? Had no luck finding it on Spotify
There was a version released before I was given access to the stems. There is not a released version of this mix used in the demonstrations.
Dangerous tools are fun :)
Ah ! The Tone Projects overpriced plugins !
I couldn't find any use for this one.
Don't believe the hype !
Your review worths much more than the plug-in itself !
Cheers
would be very interesting how this compares to Matthelanes DrMs in real life use
Just one opinion, but to my ear this is much more intuitive and does a better job in the low end. I didn't do a serious AB, but basically dropped DrMS today because of this.
@@HondoFelder Interesting. Yeah this kind of plug is still missing from my arsenal and I'm kind of torn between those two
@@HondoFelder I agree with you about the design of DrMS
@@joost3783 The DrMS does more to add depth to the mix but far less detailed in the low freq management IMO
DrMS does more for depth field management than LF detailing. I have always had a difficult time connecting with the DrMS GUI
I think I gotta ask my mom if I’m allowed to use this plugin.
Are others hearing a low level pinging or something in this video or is my iphone misbehaving :) ?
I often wonder why demos of audio software are usually dominated by the voice of the dude that did the video and not the software.
I appreciate your perspective. But, to be fair, I am explaining how the plugin works and why so you understand how to use it. If you just want to hear what it sounds like, download the demo and take it for a spin. I also provided a link above that takes you to the audio examples.
Mike don't change your format. Nobody else does what you do. You shorten the learning curve. Thanks for the effort!
@@briansanders3756 Cheers!
I really don’t see the point of some of these plugins they don’t help just confuse things
I know its boring reading the manuals...but in this case it helps a lot... and like everything, theory alone does nothing. We have to test it enough to get familiar with what it can do, and then, and only then, the true value of this plugin comes up. Which is a fast and accurate way of dealing with bass mixing/mastering. But obviously if you've already mastered other plugins together (linear eq, stereo compressing and visual aids like phase correlation meters), this might feel redudant, but still isn't in my opinion.
This is an advanced plugin, not for beginners or those looking for simple solutions that hide all the detailed work under the hood.
@@davidpereira4455 Well said! Cheers!
To much Complicated
It's designed for professional mastering engineers like the detailed management of Low Freqs. Not for everyone...
It's a very subtle plugin, if you use it the right way, like gh0sttransist0r already mentioned, now the price, that could be an obstacle, because I have tools that almost doing the same, but with more plugins in serial. It's on sale for $90 US. That's cheap.
Considering the design and quality, I think the price is very fair. I guess I'd rather have 1 plugin that does the job better than 3 other plugins strung together.
