Spot on in all regards. 100% on every point. And as someone in the US, who has loved Doctor Who since I was a kid, I especially agree with the thing about the Doctor being British. In fact, i would say the same holds true for the Master (*cough* Eric Roberts *cough).

Haha Eric Roberts was wasted in that movie, as was McGann. I think that's the only way they could actually save the show. Fire everyone currently involved and do a series with Paul McGann as the 9th Doctor. If it was good it could start the recovery. Can't see that ever happening now... 😥

Personally I don't have an issue with female and/or homosexual doctors and/or people of colour, as long as the essential britishness is kept intact. And if you have to have a gay doctor, don't make him this obnoxious, flamboyant diva we got with the current iteration. Have his sexuality be a part, not the entirety of his character. What killed the doctor for me were the nonsensical, inconsequential and just plain stupid storylines, the current-day gender politics and the constant talking down on the audience or even on the doctor himself.
I can agree with that. I don't care about the sexuality of the actor, and I'd probably prefer an A sexual doctor, as he's thousands of years old and an alien, humans would at best be like children to him, and equally I don't really want love stories in Doctor Who... And yeah I think there are plenty of black British actors or just general actors that could do the role, and don't get me started on the writing...
