    Thanks for the video. Definitely time to do it myself. I went to Ford and they left the under shield dangling once, recently they left the oil fill cap off, oil splashed up on my engine on start up. Got a so sorry! After they cleaned up my engine. Plus they doubled the price on a standard oil change. Again appreciate all Escape do it yourself Videos.

    Ok.....so they actually give you near zero room to access the oil filter, figures. Thanks for the warning. Nice job though. I'da had oil down to my elbow. Doing this tomorrow. Same vehicle. Thanks for the vid.

      @@chrisrichardson1366 Couldn't get the old filter off by hand. Had to get my filter pliers. I definitely took some of your tips seriously and it worked out well. Thanks so much for the long distance help. Can't get that locally.

    Good video but personally I would read the owners manual for oil quantity, you read the amount of oil that goes in the A/C system. For ecoboost owners, do not recommend 12k miles or a year between service intervals. 3-5K mile oil changes should be typical for the longevity of the turbo. Otherwise you will be replacing a turbocharger if you do extended oil changes as oil filter and oil manufactures "suggest."

      Thank you for pointing that out. I thought it was weird it was posted at 4.4 L. When 4.3 quarts were recommended on the Amsoil site. Sorry for the confusion.

    What shitty engineering that a regular service component (oil filter) is not more readily accessible. I saw some other online place where they say that a long interval oil filter can plug up to a point where the oil will be bypassed, so even if the oil is rated for a long intervals, I would recommend at least changing the filter more often and add back new oil to cover what you lost from the old filter.

    How do you rotate your tires?

    • @chrisrichardson1366
      @chrisrichardson1366  Год назад +1

      I use my car jack, a jack stand, and a spare tire. I pick a tire, switch it out with the spare, and rotate it. I continue this process until I have rotated all of the tires and returned to swap out the spare. Does this make sense?

    It's funny how the under carriage shields are too flimsy to provide any real protection and they don't help with aero either because they only cover the engine not the whole car. Ford wont admit it but the shields real purpose is to catch engine oil leaks before they land on your driveway. I guess they gave up on building an engine that doesn't leak. LOL

      You must have the 2.0L 4 cyl turbo, yes? Thanks for pointing that out. The 2.5L 4-cyl engine and the 1.6L 4-cyl engine require the 5W-20.

    I will never understand why they dont place the oil filter in a place where you dont make a mess changing it. #stupid
