Ahhh, if only… XD You could probably modify the farm to use some other method than water to move the silverfish to the kill chamber. Iron golems and silverfish pathfinding is likely the answer here
Bedrock troubleshooting: - Note blocks + Observers will not work on Bedrock, instead use a redstone tower for vertical signaling. - Sweeping edge is Java exclusive, use a trident killer directly below. I recommend a 3x3 trident killer. - WARNING! Java and Bedrock have different default tick speeds, what this means to the farm is that the Allay will get damaged by the campfire at a faster rate than on Java. This will result in the Allay's death within ~1:40 minutes, do not have the campfire on for too long or your Allays will die. So, on Bedrock you have to have a mechanism in place that turns the campfire off and on. - WARNING! Since Bedrock has faster tick speeds this means the Allay's will produce MUCH MORE Silver Fish than on Java, I recommend no more than 5 Allays, 6 was enough to spew some Silver Fish through blocks to attack you. Although if you'd like more Allays then you must have extra open spaces for the Silver Fish to exit which prevents the block phasing. They block phase IF there are too many cramped in one spot, they attempt to push each other but can't... instead they phase through blocks. For example, I only had one open trap door for the 5 Allays. TIP: For the trident killer I highly suggest you add a small hitbox block in what ever corner you're closest to, such as fence bars or wooden fences, if not the Silver Fish will likely go toward the corner and excessively jump which allows them to dodge the trident killer. The small hitbox block helps reduce lag and increases XP/per second. EDIT: As of now there's plenty of optimized farm contraptions videos for Bedrock on RUclips, check them out and good luck!
You can also just use splash poison potions along with the infested splash potions. Poison doesn't kill mobs. Edit: As for the observer tower, you can use leafstone for the trigger.
I think you'll find more success doing this kind of video than the create mod videos. You have a natural knack for being clear and concise. And this is a great technical achievement.

What a nice farm! It deserves more views for sure, and I think it's safe to say that it's not too broken as it requires you to get some things that could still be considered tedious to get (blaze rods, amethyst, allays of course, and you need at least a few diamonds and enchantments). I've been playing on a multiplayer server with a few friends and I've found that skeleton/zombie grinders from a basic spawner are extremely slow when there's more than one player online (but that could also be blamed by server settings that I don't know of) so this would be a good alternative.
Thanks! It definitely falls into that “Mid-Game” category of farms with the resources needed. You could probably speed run it and have everything in 2-3 hours from a fresh world tho
For those who would want to build this on an online SMP that has the statues book, there's an option to make the statue invulnerable to player hits. I totally recommend this with any farm that uses armourstands.
If you're concerned about the number of observers used, you can always have the observer pointing into a block next to a noteblock, which is cheaper and faster.

Thanks! I tried to consider whatever would've gotten myself hung up on if I was doing this from a tutorial and I think that helped find some edge case issues :D
Cool farm. Instead of turning the campfire on and off this way, I had an idea, but maybe it won't work. Give the allays an extra block of vertical space to get away from the campfire. When you turn on the farm, activate a sticky piston that pushes the block above the allays downwards so they're against the campfire, then dispense the potion, and when turned off, pull the block back up. Might be simple enough to just hop up on the roof to start things off with minimal redstone/observers.

I've been building it for so long, but all the Allays just died in the fire, even though I gave them all blocks in their hands. I'm playing on a private server with a friend
Happened 2 times for me. It’s difficult to troubleshoot the issue but I think they died because after the first time in my second iteration I turned the fire off and they lived a long time. Days later when I turned it back on is when they vanished.
I have worked with an infested allay design like this before to test an instant ice highway idea I had (by splashing all the crammed silverfish with a wind charge potion and killing them all at once), and I found out that having the water bottle dispenser UNDER the campfire was the only way to consistently put out the campfire if there were too many allays crammed in there. Idk if you already say this later in the video though since I only watched like 2 minutes so far
me resisting the urge to build this above an enemy's base and just leave the gate open for a while and let the silverfish infest every single stone block in a 10 chunk radius
Very nice. Works great on a SMP running Paper. I made an additional farm under this one that dispensed splash oozing potions with soul fire and hopper collection for super easy slime balls. Instead of the piston moving block for lava dump, they can go down the shoot for slime farm. I set up a hopper clock for those potions. 1.21 is so much fun
You don't build this farm because you are lazy, I don't build this farm because i don't want to put cute allays in eternal pain. We are not the same 🧑⚖
You could add a separate killing chamber where the silverfish are splashed with the new oozing potion, and dropped on campfires that are on top of hoppers. I will build your farm and try it myself, but I am not so good with Redstone
Farm works great for the most part - except for some reason, I keep having silverfish spawning on the top of the farm, where they bunch up and push each other off, which can be a huge problem, obviously. I tried spawn proofing the top of the farm with slabs, but they still kept popping up somehow. I'm not sure if it's a phasing issue, I'm using 16 allays for clarification.
bro to be honest at first i was like is this guy for real, does silverfish even give some good exp ? but when i tried it i got from lvl 0 to lvl 68 in like 9 min not cus the farm is slow bu cus the exp orbs take too long when they are too much XD .thx man this farm is op
It's definitely possible, but I get the feeling that they won't nerf it. This seems too intentional. They might make allays immune to the potion effect, but there are other ways to make it work such as Iron Golems
this works differently on bedrock with the note blocks. on bedrock, the note blocks don't cause observers to activate so you have to replace that with something else you can easily use to trigger the observer
Also i have no idea why but with more than 4 allays, so many silverfish were spawning that some were flying out of the contraption. Seems like the natural tickrate on bedrock might be higher cus the allay was also not outhealing the campfire for me
I did the farm underground, but the silverfish have broken everything, now there is hundreds of silverfish in my house that want to kill me please help
i have built this on a realm with friends it works great but after 24 hours the allaeys are dead or despawned i have made the simple viersion. any tips
for whatever reason my flint and steel doesnt work when clicking on the noteblock, the redstone upon the dispenser gets activated and the potions get thrown but the flint and steel just stay in their and doesnt activae anything
sharpness 3 sweeping edge 2 sword works fine. no difference. with 24 allays and 1 potion (i ended the farm before potions time ran out), i gained 45 levels and mended a half damaged diamond pickaxe
The allays keep dying. is it because some silverfish can get stuck in the box with the allays? is it because of hard mode? Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
im guessing the ideal sword could also be bane with sweep unb men unless sweeping dosent work on it. If so then atleast there is more of a use for it ingame
BoA would absolutely work as well, but because sharpness over level 3 is enough to 1 shot the silverfish, it is not needed. Most people would probably just use their normal sword for this farm
i attempted a bedrock version, and it is significantly faster, to the point of lagging my world, but unfortunately it seems that the silverfish have been damaging the allays. If you know a way to solve this it would be very helpful! :D
you can actually use fire aspect 2 if u have it on your sword like i did by mistake just at the block ur Armour stand is standing on just dig 1 block and replace it with water the Armour stand will be a block below and submerged in water so when u hit it ur fire aspect wont do anything and the silverfish with get the fire aspect and it will kill them dope farm
So, I built this on a server, and when i logged back on, the allays were despawned. Does anybody know what may have caused this? (Or should I just confront every player on the server?)
the best thing about this farm is that it just doesnt drop anything *but* xp. theres no need to tack on an item filter or extended storage, which I think is the best plus to making this design

You could add a separate killing chamber where the silverfish are splashed with the new oozing potion, and dropped on campfires that are on top of hoppers.
I will build your farm and try it myself, but I am not so good with Redstone
Good luck! It should be easy to build, I am also not good with Redstone but if you follow the tutorial step by step it will work. Have fun :)
I didn't even know you could breed allays i thought you were gonna use some glitch
No problem! We really do need a way to absorb the XP faster :D
@@Sir_James_Ender i dont think it will take too long to Mojang to nerf it somehow i feel bad for that its really helpful in the start of the game
It's definitely possible, but I get the feeling that they won't nerf it. This seems too intentional. They might make allays immune to the potion effect, but there are other ways to make it work such as Iron Golems
@@Sir_James_Ender yeah true we always find another way to make it work cuz tbh Minecraft players are the most creative community i've ever seen XD
Amazing video. Like the tutorial and explanation. Thanks you!
Tried to make a rudimentary version without a whole enclosed chamber, somehow the campfire killed the allay, tragic..
does this work on bedrock edition? of course except for the sweeping edge, i’ll replace it with trident killer
Never knew I’d be following an xp farm tutorial by Ben Shapiro
this works differently on bedrock with the note blocks. on bedrock, the note blocks don't cause observers to activate so you have to replace that with something else you can easily use to trigger the observer
Also i have no idea why but with more than 4 allays, so many silverfish were spawning that some were flying out of the contraption. Seems like the natural tickrate on bedrock might be higher cus the allay was also not outhealing the campfire for me
Very good tutorial man, easy to understand, thank you!
very nice farm, but can you make a tutorial video on how to build this in bedrock edition?
This works amazing and was pretty easy to set up. Thanks!
No problem! Glad it’s working for ya :D
I did the farm underground, but the silverfish have broken everything, now there is hundreds of silverfish in my house that want to kill me please help
Oh god... Best wishes for your survival!
i have built this on a realm with friends it works great but after 24 hours the allaeys are dead or despawned i have made the simple viersion. any tips
That's incredible!
Thank you!
Best tutorial very clear ty, you should make a gunpowder farm with this tutorial style if you are up for it!
if u dont want to find allays u can find a mob spawn
or build a mob farm
and throw it infestation potion
asnd add camp fire below it
for whatever reason my flint and steel doesnt work when clicking on the noteblock, the redstone upon the dispenser gets activated and the potions get thrown but the flint and steel just stay in their and doesnt activae anything
amazing, underated
sharpness 3 sweeping edge 2 sword works fine. no difference. with 24 allays and 1 potion (i ended the farm before potions time ran out), i gained 45 levels and mended a half damaged diamond pickaxe
ridicilously op
Bro can u please please design this same farm for bedrock too
The allays keep dying. is it because some silverfish can get stuck in the box with the allays? is it because of hard mode? Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
im guessing the ideal sword could also be bane with sweep unb men unless sweeping dosent work on it. If so then atleast there is more of a use for it ingame
BoA would absolutely work as well, but because sharpness over level 3 is enough to 1 shot the silverfish, it is not needed. Most people would probably just use their normal sword for this farm
I might try this wity bedrock, im not sure of the allay and potion mechanics, but for killing youd just do a trident killer instead of sweeping edge
I've tired over and over and over, allay will last about 4 minutes in it, i changed different passive damaging, but 19 levels in 45 seconds
i attempted a bedrock version, and it is significantly faster, to the point of lagging my world, but unfortunately it seems that the silverfish have been damaging the allays. If you know a way to solve this it would be very helpful! :D
@@FryGuy- im gonna keep trying
you can actually use fire aspect 2 if u have it on your sword like i did by mistake just at the block ur Armour stand is standing on just dig 1 block and replace it with water the Armour stand will be a block below and submerged in water so when u hit it ur fire aspect wont do anything and the silverfish with get the fire aspect and it will kill them dope farm
Worked great thanks man.
u dont even need to do all that sweeping edge stuff, u can hit the silverfish through the holes on the side of a chest, most of this farm is excessive
Great design and worked great, my only issues is about 2 days ago all of my allays disappeared and I have no idea why. Any help guys?
So, I built this on a server, and when i logged back on, the allays were despawned. Does anybody know what may have caused this? (Or should I just confront every player on the server?)
Nice job!
Thanks!
comment for algorithm, this is sick!!
