Jamie giving himself a 9.5 after mixing Salt and Cinnamon is just one of the most Jamie things ever!
If only he knew at the time 😂
Or Mike things
unless the containers are labeled, even if they're labeled, don't you usually taste the sugar/salt to make sure you have the right stuff?
@@cfwraith ikr
Easy mistake to make when you don't label your stuff.
Jamie: cannot tell difference between Salt and Sugar, scores himself 9.5
Barry: cannot tell difference between Chicken and Fish, scores himself 8.0
Mike: scores himself 5
That should be "Mike: Considers balancing flavours and also avoiding waste, turns hobs off, scores himself 5".
I'm most surprised at the salt sugar thing. Can you guys not smell salt?
barry deserves the 8 he put together the best dish there
@@jacobelsenbrook1121 yes, his fish and chips casserole mix with all the things everyone else made was good... Except he didnt taste it, so his whole idea was wrong. Still looked edible, but dont defend the 8 when he got the meat wrong xD
@@TheTorbjoern I agree. Opening a container of salt smells very different than a container of sugar
Jamie, once again proving "if you don't know what a seasoning/ingredient is, TASTE IT!"
Well, he knew what it was. Sugar. So he didn't need to taste it 😂
@@Ghostiification a bowl of salt v sugar should never be trusted to visual cues.
Also, Barry with his fish pie filling. Just taste it! 🤣
Especially egregious considering he had taste-tested the chicken soup at the prep stage to see what it was!
@@trinkab I dont know how about in UK but here in CZ if placed side by side, sugar is slightly more yellowish and coarser grains if normally powdered, salt is way way more whiter (like a copy machine paper vs regular school notebook or a school quarter of paper if you know what I mean) and a slightly more finely ground. But under artifical light with no comparison no way for sure.
Mike throwing herbs with reckless abandon is honestly the best strategy in his position, haha
If in doubt just chuck it all in 😂
@@SortedFood aka "Enthusiasm Stew", because you give it everything you've got? 😂
Forget Salt Bae, Mike is Herb Bae.
Honestly my favorite part of Pass It On is when Ben comes up with this outlandish but brilliant idea, and then says, "Hopefully the boys will know where I was going with this." But the boys never do, Ben... and that is peak Chaos energy and I'm here for it.
Barry immediately walked in and said “fish pie” 😂😂😂😂
The two anti-rules of "Pass it on": 1) Always check the oven and 2) Always taste the "creation"
the oven and fridge*
Feels like this challenge was guess what things are without tasting them (sugar vs salt, chicken vs fish) lol😂
You’ve always got to test the sugar to make sure it’s actually sugar 😂
@@SortedFood Did you take the label maker away from Ebbers?
Ooo, and let's not forget "tarragon, for 'whatever that is', because 'green'! ....[rip-chop-fling]" 😂
Or Custard vs. Cold Soup
I feel like that should be a challenge. Make food without tasting the ingredients. Just smell, touch, and sight. Use some unknown ingredients and tell them what they taste like and have them cook with it
dying over the fact that the janice lore has expanded so much that she's now a scientologist
Ebbers sounded so upset saying "but this is the salt for my pretzels"
I'd be too. It's special salt.
Now they're all cinnamon pretzels
@@niseplank4527it’s table salt
The thing about that : how many pretzels was he intending to make? Because Jamie only used a small portion of that salt, there was kilo's of the stuff left to make pretzels with. Unless Ben wanted pretzels that are 99% salt (which I think the germans would frown upon), he could have fed an orphanage with what he had left. For the next five years.
Barry’s gag reflex when Ben and Jaime were comparing chests hairs was HILARIOUS! The child came out when he said: Stop it, I don’t like it! 😂😂😂😂😂
I love that James is still in the intro of these episodes. He is missed and needs to make another pop in the studio.
Yes
I'm sure they still have that old Soda-Stream somewhere.
@@christophernorton6050 What a mean thing to say.
@@christophernorton6050 someone's as salty as Jamie's cinnamon
@@christophernorton6050 No one in the community wants you here. Insulting one of their best friends, what a sad person you are.
the way jamie and ben immediately started comparing chest hair sent me oml
😂 slightly disturbing.
Same. 🤣🤣
The "sexys" started early on in this vid
Mike always shorts himself on the points, but he brought everything together - including the forgotten plantains - and made everything look presentable and even mildly appetising 😅
Mike always shorts himself
Jamie always overstates himself
Ben always rates himself around average to be humble but then gives himself a boost because he does know he deserves it
Barry always rates himself either 1 or 10 and has no middle ground
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way Jaime threw left overs together for that pizza. This is the kind of cooking real normals want to wing it with but are too scared to try!!! Thank you for being the brave volunteer 🤠
Thanksgiving leftover pizza is one of my favorite things to do with them.
Jamie’s face when Ben told him he had mixed cinnamon with salt😂😂😂 I think the pizza was a good use of the leftovers.
i was literally gagging at the thought of the potentially salt coated dough balls
The idea was fine with Jamie as in left overs on Pizza, but it really needed some control, like just a few seconds thinking about a flavour combo for it, even just spincy mince meat mushroom and cheese would have been fine...
“I don’t even think God could save this dish, so best of luck, Ebbers.” I’m wheezing 😂😂 with desperate times come desperate measures when it comes to leftovers.
This whole episode is just “it’s 4am, everything is closed, I’m drunk and hungry”
They need to bring Kush in one of the Pass It Ons (if he wants to)
It would be hilarious. I would give everything to watch that
They seem to be putting him on camera bit more, I really hope so
This would be 🔥
@@SortedFood yess. Please make it happen
@@andymorgans4115 yeah. He's been on more and more recently. Loving that
@@SortedFood or watching from chef cam and just laughing at the chaos as he decides the order
Imagine the disaster if Ebbers didn't notice that Jamie had picked salt instead of sugar 😂
Am I the only one who, when they mention their "Sidekick app" hears "Psychic app" and thinks how handy it would be to have an app that instinctively knows what you'll want for dinner throughout the week and sends you shopping lists and recipes in advance?
You're not the only one, it's what the person doing the subtitles heard as well.
I still hear psychic every time
This is something I would pay good money for. I could actually plan out meals, then.
Jamie is, I find, very weird in a kitchen. He has great ideas - leftovers pizza, loaded doughballs - but you see him actually in the kitchen and it's Absolute Chaos with bells on and you're left doing going your Tenth Doctor impression: What? What. What?!
At least he was first this time and not last. I was crying with laughter by the end of his time on this.
Jamie did great this time. Aside from the minor salt/sugar mixup
Mixing salt and sugar is so easily done 😂
@Sorted Food I expect Jamie to mix up colors not salt and sugar. Quite unexpected. Lolololol
"Minor"
"Great" he put noodles on a bloody pizza
1:53 Fluffy’s Junior deserves a medal for this idea. I MEAN, it’s brilliant 😂
Hahaha 🤣 I'm just honored they took the suggestion ..never thought they would have seen the comment 😂
You need to do a bake off badge series... 3 challenges each week on a baking theme and star Baker gets an extra badge. It would be hilarious
A bread challenge would be nice as well.
Would Janice be involved as she could be the Mary berry of sorted
Would they do a showstopper dish
"A game of teamwork" I'm sorry, Ben. Have we watched this series differently over the past few years haha xD
The salty cinnamon (while a perfectly on brand disaster for a pass it on) can probably be salvaged as the base of pretzel/popcorn seasoning.
My way of trying to recover the salt would probably be to add water until it is dissolved, filter it through a coffee filter to get rid of the cinnamon and then evaporate the water.
Or just use it to make curry
Cinamon goes with so many things like stew, meat or pan fried vegetable
‘Jamie finds something for his Snacking Collection’. A tick mark for the SortedFood Bingo Card.
I see your comments everywhere man
@@vanshikasansaniwalI hope that’s a good thing lol Jk
I don’t like when Ben says “what the hell is that” - if Ebber’s doesn’t know that makes me uncomfortable 😂😂😂
These are my favourite episodes by a country mile, and the reason I subbed to the channel in the first place!
That’s great to hear 😁
I love these also. When I need a good laugh, I still turn to Pass It On S1EP6. The reveal of the macha cloud eggs make me laugh till I have tears every single time!
Oh god hahahah Barry turned that from a dish into a Stoner franken-meal 😭😭😂😂
Are we not going to talk about the...... fish pie?! 😆 Was waiting for the bloopers for that! 🥹
Quick tip you can easily tell the difference between sugar & fine salt by feel. Sugar feels soft and breaks easily when pinched. Fine salt feels rough with sharp edges, & is difficult to crush. Once you do it enough it's completely muscle memory. You can permanently have bowls of salt & sugar next to each other without having issues;)
Barry: says Jamie would just put the pizza on top
Also Barry: CHIPS!
I love how you've worked one of Berry's horrific "cloud eggs" in the opening to the video. 🤣
It’s an iconic moment that is 😂
@@SortedFood Love how nearly half of the intro is Mike having various meltdowns too.
i was rewatching so many pass it ons the last few days so this is just perfect timing :))
Amazing! Which one is your favourite?
@@SortedFood Food Trend. Im in tears laughing when they reveal the "cloud eggs"
@@fr0sty505 yessss
Also I still hear James saying "Where is the dish????"
Same. My favorite would have to be the Chinese take out. Ben sounded so heartbroken.
Same. Croquembouche might be my favorite. The looks of horror as they realized what they were doing and the mind-boggling level of success at the end. (Failure is fun but I love seeing them succeed hilariously in spite of the challenge of the format. Maybe the Fish & Chips one too, because it was a different take and they freaking nailed it with a really salty Barry)
I’m so so glad you have kept the same opening with James. “Where’s the dish?!” is such a iconic moment from an iconic man. Miss you James ❤
Too bad they didn't want to keep James himself
How has it been this many battles and they STILL don’t bloody TASTE the thing they aren’t sure is sugar or salt?!!!
You think we would learn huh?
I love how each dish is an individual contribution by the first three but with a Huttlestone sprinkle on all of it
Ben: “…upcycling old pies…”
Me: “Please don’t let it be a fish pie.”
The moment Mike notices that Jamie’s realized he’s fucked up is so hilarious.
Like a kid getting a new toy but it’s just something to forever hold over your friend
16:20 for future reference
Me repeatedly shouting "NO!!!" at my phone as Barry contemplates using the pizza as a pie crust! Also, let me just say how much I love Janice - her snarky sarcasm just delights my soul.
I thought Jamie was brilliant this time - quick, decisive and gave the boys a strong start! He's basically recreating the "full meal" pizza (with oreos, chicken and calamari) in the last video but with leftovers...like we need to seriously give him more credit
I loved everyone’s reactions when they found out what the theme was
Chest Hair, A mention of Jamie’s Bum and Leftovers. What a winning combination on a Sunday!
I don't mean this to be creepy or anything but dude I see you everywhere on YT
@@handlecannotbeblankNot creepy at all. Hello!
you need to bring back the pass it on reaction series just for Barry getting away with making a "fish pie"
Ahh missed Janice's attitude.
An James' "Where's the dish?" always makes me smile.💗
I’m not giving up! two new ideas for challenges:
1. no energy/depression cooking (needs a better name!), get the participants to use as few elements/stages as possible AND as little clean up needed as possible (like dishes, trash etc) as little effort as possible but still not like, microwave meals you know! lite sure, use shortcuts, but you're not supposed to notice them in the final dish. cook like you have no energy to cook/depression. when I am in a depressive episode the thought of many different stages or elements in cooking or the cleaning up afterwards makes it almost impossible to start cooking.
2. Use as little electricity as possible! (don't really know how to measure this though, number of times or different points for low/medium/high...?)
This is the episode I didn't know I needed. Something other than peanut butter and jelly.
I think they've done a couple "low effort" recipe concepts in the past, not 100% on that. I know their books cover it some.
As someone who struggles with mental health, I think the term “Low Spoons Challenge” would be nifty ☺️ As the spoons analogy is becoming increasingly common recently (you only have a certain number of spoons in a day, and certain actions like cooking breakfast, taking a shower, etc can cost one or more spoons. Someone who struggles with mental health may have to decide what few things they can do with the few spoons they have that day). Definitely love this idea in general though - I have so many days where cooking in general ends up sent by the wayside because situations at work ends up consuming all of my “spoons”, so ideas on minimal ingredient or minimal cleanup cooking are always beneficial
@@CCHAWC717 I want to see the challenge 😂
If youre that depressed where you dont want to cook... Or clean..... Just order take out XD.... Or snack like i do.
"How heavy has he made the pizza"
panicking while moving it got me good!!
We were watching him making it on the board and I, as the pizza maker of the family, was predicting that moving it would be an issue for him. As it was.
The boys need to react to this pass it on, just to react to Jamie's thought process
I’m usually the one rooting for Jamie all the way, but that was the most “it’s midnight and I’m in college” concoction ever 😂 #istilllovehimtho
Apart from the pasta challenge I think it’s one of Jamie’s strongest 😂
This is one of the most enjoyable Pass It On recently! It's chaotic in a good way, and how they commented on each other's work
It’s starts off with Baz chewing gum (how the heck will you taste things, Baz?!) and rolls into Jamie’s salt & cinnamon mix. Did these guys forget to taste? Well, Jamie did have his snacking pie.
Jamie's 9.5 after mixing salt to sugar and Barry's 8 after mixing chicken to fish.
Just another regular Pass it on 😅
As soon as i saw Barry adding the chips and dough balls on top I thought instantly he is a stoner for sure. He was just so happy in that moment. 😂🤣
Mike to Ben about Jamie's Pizza :"you're ashamed of that!"
Ben: "yes, I was trying not to say that, but yes I am Ashamed of that!!"
I think it's absolutely hysterical how Ben, Mike, and Barry, we're trying so hard to be nice to Jamie and not insult his Horribly, Absolutely DISGUSTING, "pizza". Although I did notice most people just took one bite out of it and then put it down. And how Ben kept trying to move it far away from the other food Hahahahahahaha
Love this series, in tears of laughter here. Just when you are thinking there's no way you can call these guys normals anymore they pull it back by misidentifying salt as sugar and chicken as fish, classic Jamie and Barry with a finale Huttlestorm panic and plonk!!
"Shall we not tell him that that's salt?" might be the most devastating line Janice has ever spoken.
I'm so proud to say that after watching you guys for over 6 years now, all of you have managed to not improve at all in the kitchen. Well done!!
It the season of joy, to scream and to shout and what better way to start it of than pass it on.
Jamie's horrific mix-up reminds me of the time my dad kept adding cornflour to the sauce he was making and couldn't understand why it wasn't thickening, even though he'd put loads more than usual in. Turned out it was icing sugar.
Rosettes made by dipping hot rosette iron into batter then frying. Batter not sweet so it depended on a heavy sprinkle of confectioner's sugar while hot.
Welllll, proudly made it for guests. They choked them down and said "great!"
Except I grabbed cornstarch instead of the sugar. Vile! Very polite guests...
The clip in the intro of James exclaiming “where’s the dish?!” always makes me giggle
”I haven’t done much, but I have been decisive! 8 out of 10!” 😂😂😂
3:40 So... Is Jamie's plan basically to eat all the leftovers?
That’s ALWAYS Jamie’s plan!
The moment where I fully thought baz was going to put the pizza on as a pie lid I felt like I was losing my mind 😂
Yeah, I started with crying with laughter again at that point!
the fact that Barry didn't correct himself about the fish pie filling really gets to me and I dont know why
I have a turn order suggestion for next time. Have the boys sort themselves in the best possible order as well as the worst possible order and then have Barry flip a coin. Heads they go with the best order and tails the worst. In either case, Barry is sure to get the blame or be smug that he got it right and we watching will all be glad.
What'll be the outcome if Barry hits himself in the eye with the coin? Because I'm pretty sure this would happen 😆
Having accidentally made coffee with salt before (albeit from a container labeled sugar) I certainly empathise with them mixing various ingredients up. I think most people have to some degree…
My parents put a pinch of salt into the coffee grounds of their Silex coffee maker for "better coffee" pre high blood pressure diagnosis.
Best food challenge series on youtube is back!
Everyone's talking about the sugar/salt mixup, but my absolute favorite part of the Jamie segment is when he audibly gasped like he just came up with the most amazing, cheffy, brilliant idea ever and grabs the chicken pie, and just when you think he's either going to do something really amazing to the dish or really stupid to the dish, he just takes a huge, Jamie-sized bite and says "snacking pie".
I think I've watched actual horror movies and been in less distress than I was when Barry mentioned putting the pizza on top of Ben's dish
These were definitely the most "clear the fridge" leftovers dishes in a while. It definitely met the spirit of the brief as it felt like it got the spirit of having a lot of stuff in a fridge about to go off and just trying to find something to do with them- kinda chaotic but sometimes it works in the end. Fun video.
i love these, i cant get this stupid dumb smile of my face when i watch pass it on. keep killing it guys and jamie with a 9.5 after mixing salt with cinnamon and not tasting it was just the best XDDDDD much love from germany
While you might not want to taste unidentified white powder in normal settings, in a controlled kitchen, it's probably important to taste what the white powder is. And, to that end:
- If it tastes like salt, it's probably salt.
- If it tastes like sugar, it's probably sugar.
- If it tastes like a powder, maybe it's flour?
- If it kinda tastes like a mixture of salt and weirdness, it might be MSG.
You know you’re excited for the latest episode of ‘Pass It On’ when you’ve tapped on the notification 4 seconds in.
P.S. As for the last video announcing a special occasion: “Oh dear, Oh Dear!”
That’s super fast 💨
Relay Challenges are by far the best content on this channel. Hope for more! Stay safe.
Really baffled that Barry didn't get more abuse for thinking that chicken was fish.
The inverted dirty fries dish looked amazing (even if it wouldn't be to my personal tastes). That probably could've been the lone dish, but then they'd have been criticised for not using enough of the leftovers. In that regard, I think Jamie's pizza actually saved the challenge as it would've been almost impossible to combine sufficient numbers of those leftovers into a single dish.
That's because Barry didn't say anything before they started eating it and then... He knew not to say anything😅
P.S. I always love Janice commenting during the PIO vids! The saucier she is, the better. Her sound effects and comments in this video were completely brilliant!
Yaaay another pass it on! These are so wonderful to watch
And it's a Pass It On! Christmas came early
The fact that Barry just came in and didn’t taste anything 😭😭😭😂😂😂
I love that they're being honest with the order. They could just say that Ben is the most hairy to make the chef go first but they're like "nope, no, Jay first" 😂😂😂
Yessss! My favourite kind of episode!
I found these videos a few weeks ago. I started binge watching! I laugh until I cry and the best part, I do learn a lot! Thanks to you all!!
was anyone else shouting at Barry to taste the "Fish"
I think my mum thinks I have gone crazy lol
Barry you no, please don't pie the pizza.
"Have I gone to far?" Your a mad man.
Good to see this segment back. Hope we see it more often
I think Ben needs to try the salt & cinnamon on his pretzels before he throws it out.
It might work..
I think the boys did pretty good on this one.
Not what I would have made, but I think I would have enjoyed the results, and the boys all thought outside the box really well.
OMG you guys took my suggestion for an order haha thank you so much 👊 it's an honor
Another suggestion I think Barry will love...shortest to longest toe nails muhahaha
