This was exactly my thought. He is so cool when he teaches. I think he really wants people to see how easy these things are to make, and he makes it look SO easy. haha.
Kush Unleashed needs to be a series! He definitely deserves a promotion from SidesMan to MainEvent! I really liked Ben's idea of unleashing Kush to cook whatever he wants from seasonal ingredients. It would be so much fun to see!
If you initially cook the tatties in a flavourful stock (I think Barry even did this in a Chef V Normal battle?) it really adds to the flavour of the final roast potato.
I could watch Kush cook for hours. He makes everything so accessible and not intimidating. He’s a gifted cook, but he may be an even better instructor. Absolutely love every video he’s in! #teamkush
I can't believe you guys been hiding Kush behind the camera all these years. He's hilarious! I'm glad he's in front of the camera being the chaotic gremlin he is
It's so nice to see Father Kushmas doing his job while explaining what he does. Usually he's a little chaos gremlin and his chaos undermines the value of what he's saying. That's why I love videos where Kush is just doing his stuff at a a leisurely pace.
We have been so spoiled this month with all the videos! It will be hard to go back I am going to have Sorted withdrawals haha. Love you guys thanks for all the hard work on and off screen!
Yea, this was fabulous and gave me lots of ideas for Christmas dinner! I'll be roasting half a piglet (we're only 3 people, so even that is too much), but those sides are phenomenal!
Please make Kush Unleashed a series! He definitely deserves a promotion to main event! He's best boy! I really liked Ben's idea of unleashing Kush to cook whatever he wants from seasonal, sounds AMAZING!
Best line goes to Kush: They (lentils) get in all those little nooks and crannies in your stomach where potato can't get. Had to go back and listen to that 3x. It was excellent. As were all those sides and as Mike said, you pick the ones your gathering would like, and it just adds to the festivities. Well done.
I love Kush so much. He brings so much to the channel, genuinely helpful tips and tricks, personality, and accessability in the way he walks you through what he's doing. I would watch insanely long videos of him in the kitchen cooking and explaining his thought process. Like the 10 min burger challenge, but give him the full 10 min and see what he comes up with. No time constraints. Just kush being fully kush.
It’s Mike’s birthday today! Happy birthday and hoping you have a great day and a great year ahead. Keep giving us iconic face journeys and screengrabs.
Could someone at the studio please give Kush a Huge Bear Hug and a kiss on his cheek? And tell him Tracey says Thank you for being such a lovely patient teacher who remembers everyone's favourite and creates Fantastical Food. And if he and his large family visits Cape Town, I would love to be his Foodie Tour Guide.
You know, seeing how much butter Kush used in this video reminded me of a saying I heard a while ago. "A chef is someone who isn't afraid of using more butter than you" 😂
We finally get the best that Kush can offer! I love this feeling of him being an "old wise man" with all his knowledge & tips/tricks, but then he pulls it back by his "goblin" personality. He's truly a bit of an oxymoron!😂
I love Kush in the kitchen because the ingredients just never end. Everything is par for the course and he makes it work because of his culinary sorcery.
I appreciate how much of a proponent Kush is of using store-bought, pre-cooked, and ready-made ingredients where there really isn’t a significant difference in quality as compared to homemade ingredients
Kush is so calm and in control behind the counter. His calmness makes him a fantastic teacher. There's no manick jumping around. I want to see him teach us more!!!
I have never wanted to spend time with anyone at Christmas as much as Kush, you can tell how much food means to him, how happy he was giving the food to the boys was such a genuine moment. Also, that roast potato method is what I've used since finding it, it will genuinely kick any other method away.
Probably will never cook any of these dishes but it’s soo fascinating and interesting how kush explains why he does each step instead of just telling what he is doing…I feel very wise lol..
Something my grandmother taught me when cooking mushrooms is always add some carraway seeds. Not only for the flavour but also to help with digestion. And lentils are part of a traditional eastern German "Neunerlei" or "Neinerlaa" which is traditionally served on christmas eve. Basically nine different dishes, all of which have a different meaning.
It is so nice to follow the stages of how Kush becomes more and more comfortable in the studio. All of these side dishes looked amazing, especially tha mushroooms, I will definitely try them very soon!
Love the questions from Mike and Baz for Kush (though I'm sure they already know the answers) but it helps those of us that might not know the 'hows' and 'whys', the subtleties of cooking, especially something we havent tried yet. Kush is an excellent teacher as well. Thanks, lads!
My respect for Sorted in general and Ben & Kush in particular is up there on par with any professional chef I've ever watched and learned from on tv/RUclips.
This is fantastic. I really enjoyed the format with the questions being asked to explain steps. Kush is so good at imparting his knowledge, I hope we see more like this in future.
Kush is the crazy lovechild of a Delia Smith cookbook & Heston Blumenthal's imagination (with a little Salvador Dali thrown into the mix). Really enjoyed this & would love it to be made a series. Those onions & mushrooms 🧑🍳👌. In season I forage a lot of ceps/penny buns. If there's a mast year & I get a lot, I dry off the glut for usage throughout the year. Some once they're dry I'll turn into a powder, it's great for adding an umami, mushroomy hit to stews, champignon tartes/galettes, sprinkled on eggs or bacon...etc. Brilliant episode.
We went through this with James, and now we're going through it with Kush. It's so incredible to watch how people slowly become more comfortable in front of the camera, and by extension, more comfortable with us. It makes me so happy! 💗💓❤
When Kush said, "Shall we have a taste?"... they both looked soooo mesmerized by Kush, especially Barry... And THAT is pretty much how we all feel as the audience 😍
I LOVED watching the view counter go up in real time, quite a special moment to know there is so many people enjoying Sorted Food at the the same time, like a great big international food hug. And Kush dedicating that cheesy roast potato to Jamie, that's real Bromance🥰
i love watching kush cook!!! i think he’s such a fantastic teacher and the way he explains everything is so easy to understand. i’ve been so happy to see him in videos this year and can’t wait for more in 2024 🥰
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this format! Watch Kush cook 4-6 things at once over a half an hour, and explain as he goes. This is the cooking show I needed in my life. Please make this a regular thing, even if you only do it once every month or two.
Handy hint if you want to save oven space you can combine Yorkshire puddings and kilted sausages (pigs in blankets) and make a well dressed Toad in the hole.
Kush is a fun oddball guy, and damn does he radiate the passion and knowledge - his skillset really shows in how he is explaining things, very efficiently and straight to the point and still easy to understand.
Kush > James, imo. All the talent, superior technique, and absolutely zero ego. I'm sure Jamie is happy too, considering how much James would pick on him. More Kush, please! XD
I would love to see a return of the "Dream Menu" series, but with the boys trying to make the chefs dream menus. Would be awesome to see how far the boys have come and how they can adjust a full meal to the chefs palette!
This was extravagant and I loved it. The chaos of "what do I do with these ingredients??" is a ton of fun, but the chaos of "I have these ingredients, gaze upon what I have planned" is something else. Delicious! 😋
This video is one of the best you’ve guys have done, super informative, some great new ideas for Christmas, perfect for the intermediate home cook! Thanks Kush! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I can’t imagine how amazing it would be being a team member of sorted and getting to eat meals that Kush creates for lunch time! Side note I would like to say thank you for all of the work you have put in to do these daily videos alongside the live show and hopefully getting some time for yourself and families ❤
I love when Kush is part of a video! He has so much knowledge about ingredients and techniques and he’s so sweet, kind and patient while teaching. I just love all of you guys and really enjoy every video.
This has to be one of my favourite episodes ever. It's wholesome, kind, exciting and fun! Learned so much and got so much inspiration - and Mikes and Barrys reactions and interaction with Kush is just the best. Good job gguys - lol (lot's of love)
Should call this series "Kush it to the limit" where you let Kush go at it like a proper chef
Ahahaha what a great title that is!
What did he do here? Indulgent, tasty and pro chef skills food that he explains to steps the viewer thinks "I could do that!"
Limiiiiiiit! 🎶🎶🎶
Some sort of white powder should be involved.
oooooooh! I am soooo down for that! Amazing idea....love it!!
I love how Kush can be an incredibly chaotic figure, and then the second he goes into Teacher Mode he becomes 100% sincere and kind. It's incredible!

This was exactly my thought. He is so cool when he teaches. I think he really wants people to see how easy these things are to make, and he makes it look SO easy. haha.
And then he goes back to being our favourite Kitchen Gremlin/Goblin.
Going to try the roast potatoes for Christmas dinner defo thanks
And the whole time, he's talking directly to the guys.
"The roasted mushrooms will complement a bunch of things that I'm not doing today." ~ Kush, Christmas season, 2023.
YUP! 😆
This is why we need part 2!
@@WallChart And a part 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.
Having Kush on camera has been one of the best parts of 2023. He really is a great teacher and motivator.
Kush saying "Jamie, this is for you my love" was so unexpected but also super cute
My favorite moment of the whole video.
Kush Unleashed needs to be a series! He definitely deserves a promotion from SidesMan to MainEvent!
I really liked Ben's idea of unleashing Kush to cook whatever he wants from seasonal ingredients. It would be so much fun to see!
I second that. Kush is a brilliant chef and great at explaining his method and recipes.
I would love to see this!
I love how pleased and excited Mike looked to have Kush set him up explain the way he makes roasties.
If you initially cook the tatties in a flavourful stock (I think Barry even did this in a Chef V Normal battle?) it really adds to the flavour of the final roast potato.
For those of us in the U.S., what's an American equivalent to the Kind Edward's potato?

Father Kushmas. Brilliant.
Mike and Kush are like leads in a Hallmark Holiday movie in this video where they realise the power of Christmas through bonding over sides.
Hallmark Bromance
i never watch christmas romance movies, but i'd watch this one every christmas
We have been so spoiled this month with all the videos! It will be hard to go back I am going to have Sorted withdrawals haha. Love you guys thanks for all the hard work on and off screen!
So glad you've enjoyed a video a day 😁
Hope you wont use Sidekick to binge eat because of the symptoms. :]
@@SortedFoodplease do this again next year! It’s made Christmas brilliant
@SortedFood my Christmas wish is to have a new episode every day of the year!! 🎄
Indeed!
One of the best videos you’ve made I think. Kush really displayed his knowledge here, without being overbearing or ‘snobby’.
Well done 👏
So glad you enjoyed it!

Anyone notice how happy Kush looked whenever Mike or Baz asked about tips and tricks as a chef?
Kush has become so natural in front of the camera. Hes such a boon to the channel. I'd watch dozens more of these videos
Kush the Unleashed, King of Chaos. Also casually running through that list of astonishingly delicious sounding dishes has my mouth watering like mad
Sooooo good right? Anything kush cooks is always amazing. We're truly spoilt having him here at Sorted.
I love the way Kush explains exactly what he did with each dish in such a simple manner. You can tell how much he cares about the food.
Oh my god this is about to become my favourite series. "Jamie, this is for you my love" absolutely killed me off 🤣 what a fantastic video!
Never let Kush go! He offers such a unique dimension through his humour, presentation skills and his ability as a chef.

I love that you guys are still using that scoop/spatula from kitchen gadgets, it's like a little easter egg
