I've only been watching for a little while (the Tom Scott Extra collab got me onto this lot!) but it seems like Barry's hair is longer than it used to be, no? Maybe that's been good luck for him 🤣

It could even be in the way of surprise visiting the normal's kitchen to see if they work clean in their everyday life xD Maybe also visit Ben's liquor and gin cabinet afterwards

I went to culinary school years ago, and while I've retained a fair bit of knowledge, I can understand the struggle. I don't currently work in the restaurant industry, but that doesn't mean I can't still cook up some wonderful dishes. One of the reasons I love this channel is because I always find new learning opportunities. That said, I've done most of the techniques listed. A simple compound butter is nice, but an herb infused oil cooked down with some shallots and elephant garlic really give you other options. For example, you could use it as part of a jus gras. I might have gone that route for that very purpose. Not only is the oil a wonderful finisher, but I love that you can incorporate it in other things.
Brilliant episode. Great tips on preserving leftovers. Barry definitely deserved both badges but I'm still shocked how Jamie's ended up so good. Credit scene was hilarious.
Great episode boys! I just have to say, this is the first time I have seen all of the food team together in a video and I LOVE the diversity! It’s no wonder you always come up with the most amazing recipes 👍🏻
I love how even in the studio will all kinds of crazy challenges you're still conscious of food waste and using up ingredients! Great that you practice what you preach in you app!
I love this format. Minimal time for the bois to prepare, and encourages improvisation/thinking on the fly. Of course you'll be able to construct a delicious meal within the brief if you have time to prepare a recipie, but the fun for me comes when you're just creating in the kitchen
Can i just take a moment to send my appreciation for you getting your crew involved and reducing for waste? Celebrating the hidden work and using the leftovers all up!
Honestly, this video had everything that I love about y'all's channel: food, camaraderie, laughs, beautiful disasters, Ebbers coming in like "The actual way to do this at home is..." Thank you so much for the joy you brought to me day.
To me, that is what cooking is all about. You can't be afraid to take chances. I do love these vids the most. I also love to go back and watch old ones to see how far each person has come.
Was the food team even watching Jamie make that successful train wreck?!? No doubt it looks absolutely tasty, but the amount of panic it took to get there would make all of them spit their beers out of their noses.
First time in a while I've had a chance to sit down and watch a Sorted video and this was such a pleasant one! Props to the boys, and it's so fun to see how far their skills have come. I'm proud of all of you.
Jamie's theme song, sassy Ebbers, and Barry somehow taking the lead, I kept on smiling through the entire video And this is a really good episode for my family right now, as we've been on a jam making kick recently.
Nice come back, Barry! Everyone did so well. Mike and Ebbers, I will absolutely be making that oil after I go to my farmshare this week. Always looking for ways to use up fresh herbs. Also bravo to Jaime for pulling off that miracle with the dessert.
Loved this, with food prices going up soooo much seeing how you can preserve what would have been wasted is a great move, thanks guys great job as always.
Next time I’m having a rough day, or really messing up in the kitchen, I’m going to rewatch Jamie’s dessert and the absolute hilarity of the side gallery…what a “happy accident” 😂😂😂
This was such a great episode. Useful knowledge and tips, an absolute giggle fest, snarky quick witted comments and then in the end everyone is just happy for each other for getting badges. Really this might be the best squad ever.
I've watched this one several times. It may be my favorite SORTED Food video!! That part where Jamie is trying to work out how to deal with his dessert - with Mike and Baz absolutely losing it - is one of the funniest bits on the channel! Well done!!!
I have been watching this channel for years, and I gotta say out of the normals, Jamie is definitely the one who has improved the most. The guys make fun of him sometimes for his fumbling and panic, but he regularly makes good food, usually stays pretty simple, and knows how to use cheap ingredients to their upmost potential. I would generally eat anything Jamie made. Barry sometimes tries to hard to be fancy and has over-complicated things, and Mike is either amazing or a disaster. XD I love them all, but I would say Jamie is definitely the most consistent. Love the channel still! And will always keep watching!
I discovered this channel this week, and I think I have never had so much fun watching cooking show (and I watched a few). This content is criminally underrated and you guys should have milions of views under each video. With love from Poland!
I work in a kitchen currently and food waste is always something we’re trying to counter so something like this is great. Nice to see some of the key methods for saving leftovers!
Mike seriously deserved the Upcycling Badge!! The only thing "wrong" with his Okonomiyaki (Economiyaki 😉) was that the underside had slightly more dextrinization or was more dextrinized (Ben, you're welcome 😁) than the other. Mike may have mislabeled his dish by calling it an Okonomiyaki, but Jamie did the same thing by calling his dish a Crumble. Ben said Mike's was "not thick enough to be an Okonomiyaki or thin enough to be a pancake". But, according to Ben, the crew still "thought it was really good and were happy to eat it".
Honestly, I'm pretty new to the sorted community, but I could not be more thankful for all the tips and tricks I've learned while watching your guys' videos! You have really helped me fall even deeper in love with food ☺ keep up the good work!
I just realized that I've been subscribed for 5 years and I like _never_ comment 😂 You guys have been making great content for years and improving all the while. Thank you for all your hard work! 💜
The only thing I kept thinking when Mike made his "herbie oil" was TASTE IT. Because I didn't see ANY seasoning go into it. First rule of cooking is always taste taste taste. I mean he tasted raw batter for crimineys sake! LOL little things can turn into big things in a competition. Luv you guys, fun as always! Jamie's a nutball & I live for it 🤣
As a Dutchie it physically hurt me when Jamie said he's never had a stroopwafel before. They're the best cookie, especially when you put 1 up on top of a cup of tea before you eat it.
Barry is also my winner. The Jamie dessert was hilariously entertaining, I'm glad he got that badge. You all did a fantastic job, keep up the greatness.
Loved it! This was so fun to watch! I love the dedication to reducing food waste and the boys seemed to have lots of fun with this one. Please do more like this!
i really like the badges thing, it adds a bit of fun challenge to the channel, while its said in the video that its coming close to the end, i kind of hope they can go for a series 2 or something, its enjoyable to watch
In Jamie's defence I work in a kitchen at a retreat house catering for 30-70 guests each week and one of our dessert recipes that is always popular is 'Scanian apple pie' a Swedish recipe taught to us by a previous team member who grew up in northern Sweden. It is apple slices like the bottom of a crumble but topped with a butter, sugar and oats mixture that behaves very similarly to Jamie's failed crumble topping.
Love the idea of preserving things... you can kick it up a knodge by going 1 by 1 and doing ONE single preserving method and rotating until 2 of them dont know what else to do. And also applauds for Mike that flipping 10/10
I have a toddler, so I usually have fruit left over. I have gotten into the habit of making a bread/cake out of it. Like banana bread, but with different fruit. So far I have done banana, apple and pear loafs. I also bake muffins with the smaller fruit like raspberries and blueberries. It keeps about a week in the fridge, but it's usually eaten up within a few days as a healthier sweet option in the house.
You can also make a coulis with berries, use on pancakes, cakes, with cream/merinque, even to sweeten some sauce for a porkroast. Lasts forever in the ref & esp in the freezer. I keep apple slices cooked in sugar & cinnamon in a sealed jar. More flexible re use. Can put in pies/fillings/bread.or mushed into apple butter/sauce.
I'm now back 2 years later and still loving this entire challenge! I also "upcycled" some boiled eggs today, as we didn't need a dozen for the stuffing, so I turned the rest into Deviled Eggs. If you have a Fuzzy's Taco Shop near you, get their spice blend, Fuzzy Dust. it is spiced not spicy, and WONDERFUL through the deviled mixture and as a garnish.
Oh maybe Mike should have got a brownie point for continuity? He was the only one to link his dishes with the oil he made for the first challenge being used on his up-cycled dish. Some interesting choices made though & good to see more food/money saving tips coming to the fore. Plus they can be delicious treats that really make a dish.. like compound butter.
I make homemade peach cobbler by just eyeballing ingredients everytime and it’s always amazing. I didn’t have lemon extract the last time I made it so I used 1/2 cup of Sunny D orange juice which is half sugar and a strong orange flavor and I also put packets of oatmeal in it and for the “crumble” on top and it was AMAZING!
Great video as always! I'd love to see another leftovers battle, but this time with leftover cooked meals. Like, a little bit of leftover chicken, or pasta dish, or rice dish, turned into a different meal. For those of us who cook too much at a time and get tired of it before it's finished. Also, did you know okonomiyaki literally translated to "cooked how you like it"?
Jamie's fumbling at 17:00 followed immediately by Ebber's attempting to help (only to be ignored for booze) followed by the absolute child like "Yeaaaahhh" from Mike has got to be my new favorite moment from the team.
Is Mike booing or boozing? :-)
Lads lads lads!
This is unfair because Jamie has an angel and TWO devils on his shoulder, and sometimes the angel moonlights as a THIRD DEVIL!
"Put some booze in it ya geezer" is why I've fallen in love with these guys.

Yes to both!!!
Or Barry's previously rescinded spice badge!

Jamie really keeps the show real and fun which has been in short supply lately
I love how Jamie's chaos still managed to result in something really good.
Compound butter is a brilliant idea. Definitely going to hang onto that (esp. the chile and chive combo)
i was nearly sick i laughed that hard at flustered Jamie forgetting how to make a crumble. Made my day 🤣
Barry gets better and better every year. I love that his initial casting as the "screwup" is morphing into something more
Great video as always!
