    The 1792 Full Proof is such an excellent bottle. Agreed on the unique and complex cinnamon note. I find it very reminiscent of EC C923, but with more cinnamon. Not easy to find but a definite buy when I see them. As always, thank you for the great revies. Cheers!

    Man, good question. They are both awesome pours. BIB only drops once a year, and the full proof is a bit more readily available for my area. Therefore, it would be the BIB for me. This past year the BiB SB even beat the Twin Liquors store pick SB by a lot. In fact the TL store pick was the most disappointing bottle of 1792 I've ever tasted. Not sure what went wrong. Possible that TL simply took what they could get. The SPEC'S stores here in San Antonio, TX do a great job in general with their store picks.
      FYI - The BiB SB was only about $40! It beat out many "Me Too" BiB offerings from various distillers that tend to go for $50, including my beloved Rebecca Creek! Also, when the 1792 Full Proof is available here, it is usually around $55-60.

      @@WhiskeyBank I just picked-up a Full Proof SPEC'S store pick today for about $41. The neck poor has a deep and rich flavor profile, yet it does drink spicey-hot like an Old Forester barrel proof. So my initial impression is still that the Single Barrel BiB SPEC'S store pick from last year is still my favorite 1792. The Full Proof is definitely worth buying at the right price. And you are right, in that if you take a sip and then come back for another, more of the flavor opens up as you get used to the cinnamon spiciness.
      I also got a Sweet Wheat 1792 and really enjoy it (just not a secondary market price that came with it! 😆). Oh Well! I consider paying the extra as the "Finder's Fee" for not having to spend a lot of time and energy trying to find it at a better price. I rebought both in the last 30 days. Neither were a store picks . The BIB was $33 and the full proof $45 . The BIB is hard to beat by other bourbons in that price range. The full proof not one of favorite full proofs out there , but is priced right. In a head to head, I like the smoother less spikey BIB. In full disclosure, the full proof was a neck pour and BIB is half gone and 3 weeks opened.

      Hey Chris! I only do a couple videos a month so I try to put time into it to make it as entertaining and informative as I can as people are spending their precious time watching my videos 😆. It still amazes me I have so many subs and views as I'm just a guy who likes to drink (and buy) whiskeys 🤣 like everybody else. It seems you have slowed down on doing videos, keep at it and try to improve one or two things every video and it'll all stack up!
      Thank you so much for your view and comment as you always do on my videos! Greatly appreciate it and cheers~

      @@mr.seanster k&l wines has a store pick for $50 right now. They have other great stuff and shipping is reasonable (especially with gas prices here) if a store isn't close to you.

    1792 Small Batch is all I've seen available in my area. I might do some hunting and see if I can find Bottled In Bond, Single Barrel or Full Proof. Supposedly 1792 Full Proof is a good stand-in for Stagg Jr but it seems people caught on to that and 1792 Full Proof can be difficult to source. I have yet to try any 1792, so I'll find out when I find out. Although I would prefer to try a store pick if I can find one.

    • @WhiskeyBank
      @WhiskeyBank  10 месяцев назад

      I would say the 1792 Full Proof is a good stand in for the Stagg batch 18, but not any other batches as Stagg is so cherry and fruit forward (with the exception of batch 18, which is spice and cinnamon forward). But MSRP is close if I think about it and with my experience tomorrow, I'll always have a Full Proof (hopefully a store pick) on my shelf! Allocation is getting better and better in my area so hopefully it'll show up in yours very soon~ Once you get either a Bottled in Bond or Full Proof, let me know how you like it!

      they did not have the full proof which made me a bit sad but i like bottled in bond just as well. I have enjoyed 1792 sine back when it had the name Ridgemont reserve well before the lawsuit over the reserve in the name ...back then it was not as well known so you paid around 35.00-40 dollars a bottle for the half gallon bottles good times it also helped that a friend of mine owned the store i shopped at so i was getting it close to cost and he would order it special for me Because, he knew, I liked it..
      after it won awards the price went higher of course.
