    I own one in 2023. Nearly 90,000 miles and I still say it's the best car I've ever owned. Zero complaints

      Oh you must be from China? Because 2019 is the last lacrosse made,please give us details, after 2019 Lacrosse is made exclusively in the CCP which is bullshit.

    It was physically painful to have to watch that Buick guy try and convincingly say that he doesn't find the auto start/stop annoying... What a load of shit.

      agreed. it's a nice car but this double-talk really makes me turn my head and look towards another car where you can actually defeat such mechanisms. and that's really sad when they've put so much work into this product to just have one conceptually minor thing kill it.

    RULE # 1: Listen to the consumer.
    When the engineer said "Its my personal opinion" referring to the start/stop system not being annoying proves that the consumer isn't being listened to. Please GM, don't make this mistake again!

    This is one of the best reviews I've seen in a long time. I wish that we got to see in depth discussions with the engineers and designers themselves in the videos more often. I like that he stated what the goals were, what the cheief competitors were and how they achieved besting them. I really think these factual point by point explanations are more convincing than imagery based marketing gimmicks.

      Lol .. There's a module you can buy for $140 to defeat it and it's installed in 5 minutes.

    Wish I'd NEVER bought it.
    Direct injection and gummed valves you can't clean, Auto start stop that ruins batteries in 2 years and then the starter motor Ain't Cheap either.
    What were GM NOT Thinking???

    I like the car but not being able to turn off the start/stop feature is a no go for me. I wont even consider it.

    He keeps using the word "seamless". I have the 2018 Lacrosse, and it is absolutely NOT seamless. I can hear it, and it jerks.

    So if you had a choice between this and a Maxima, which would you choose? Maxima is tuned to be a little "sporty" (as sporty as front wheel drive and CVT can be) and I'm sure the cabin is not as quiet as the Buick but I want to know what people think if given a choice between the two.

    Do they have an electric air conditioner compressor to go with the start stop? Or, does it shut it off when shutting the engine down?

    • @Alviniscute
      @Alviniscute 8 лет назад

      as far as I know from a few years ago, the air-conditioning works when the vehicle is stopped so it is electric

    • @oldtwins
      @oldtwins 8 лет назад

      nope. that's only for hybrid or electric cars that have electrically powered ac systems since the high voltage system is already in place, it doesn't cost any more to put in. In contrast, regular piston engine cars still use a belt drive because the cost differential would be on the hideously high side. the blower fan is electric of course, so you'll get some cooling effect for a little bit after the compressor drops off. I believe most cars have some sort of monitoring of outside temp to ensure the engine does not get turned off on very hot days (95+ perhaps), not sure if this is the case with this car.

    • @MrGreenelight
      @MrGreenelight 2 года назад

      Gasoline / diesel engines still use a belt (serpentine) drive, engine powered system to power the A/C compressor. ( Not electric/battery driven).
      One of differences is that modern air conditioning compressors have a clutch relay that only engages the compressor when compression is needed when the A/C is on. This is unlike the older ones that the compressor stayed active as long as the A/C was on. This means that if there is pressure still in the system, the A/C will still cool for a while without the engine being on.
      However, after a several minutes without engine power, the engine will need to be started ( automatically on most vehicles) to replenish the pressure to the A/C system.

    Yeah... The personal opinion is kinda lame as a excuse. I too would rather have the option since it's MY money! An addition I want a C.D. player. I know all the current rage is the apps for this option, yet again, "I" listen to older L.P.kinds of music that I love. I want to play my extensive collection in my cars! I think Buick is looking at China instead of the U.S. as the main market in their future. To bad, (once again) for the U.S. market.

    Start/stop that you can't turn off? Wow. For the demographic they're going for here that's going to lose them a lot of money. Older people don't want annoying features that they can't turn off. Shit, regular people don't want that. Stop/start is a stupid way to save fuel and I hope it goes away soon.

    • @phlydude
      @phlydude 8 лет назад +1

      VW's issues have the industry scared. They don't want to get caught if someone turns off start/stop and claims that their MPG is 20 combined when the manufacturer claims to be higher. They made it meet numbers with these features, both from mileage and emissions.

    • @vikk5459
      @vikk5459 8 лет назад

      +Dennis G Mattinson I got that, but they really could have found a way around that. Going to a smaller turbo V6 or maybe even a turbo 4. No one wants start stop that they can't turn off. And anyway, my Nissan is supposed to get 23 city and I get 21.8 combined. Should I sue Nissan or just accept the fact that those numbers can fluctuate depending on how/where you drive?

    • @phlydude
      @phlydude 8 лет назад

      While you may not sue, there is someone out there that may. Lawyers suck and companies hedge risk wherever possible.

    Also, they did all that to make sure the interior is perfect yet they put that cheap looking plastic on the steering wheel and blank plastic space be neath the climate controls? Looks incredibly cheap.
