I purchased a fully loaded 2017 Lacrosse with the premium trim level and couldn't be happier. I absolutely love the way it rides and handles, especially with the sport setting on. It has so many options I'm having a blast learning them all. It is by far the quietest, best riding, and best driving car I have ever owned. It handles like a dream on any road I’ve throw at it, has plenty of power, gets excellent gas mileage and is super comfortable on long trips. And I think it is the most stylish car on the market, not gaudy but sophisticated in its looks and styling. I tested a number of competitive models from Lexus, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Acura, BMW and Lincoln and they just didn't compare to this car on features for the price and in many other ways. Anyone wanting a luxurious, quiet, great handling car, with plenty of power may want to take a look at the Lacrosse!
Just curious, what car from Hyundai that is a competitor to the LaCrosse have you tested?? The ONLY competitor Hyundai had to this was the Hyundai Genesis Sedan, which is now called the Genesis G80. I owned that car and I picked up this LaCrosse for my son for college. We picked up the Essence trim which had 17k miles on it. Actually he still has it today. Brand new the Essence was the same price as my Hyundai Genesis. I do agree with you, fantastic driving car for comfort, and would have to say it does handle slightly better than mine because of how much lighter it was to my Genesis. But to be fair, thats about all it is better at slight handling. Doesn't come close to the looks of the Genesis, doesn't offer the power the Genesis offers, you have to pay extra for panoramic roof, for heads-up display and AWD, along with a few other features. Doesn't have close to the sound system that comes in the Genesis, which all comes standard on the top trim- 0 add on features for more money. Plus a 100k warranty. The Genesis EASILY matches the ride quality and cabin noise, which also has rear door shades and a power rear window shade, heated rear seats. Sorry my friend, and I understand you wrote that comment long ago, but the LaCrosse wasn't on the Hyundai Genesis level for the price then, and its nowhere close to Genesis Level today. GM along with Cadillac, Ford, Honda, Toyota and all others are following in Hyundai/Genesis/Kia footsteps. Hyundai has been laying out that blueprint for 7 to 8 years now, first to do just about everything you see new in cars today that aren't Mercedes/BMW/Audi. Hyundai might copy from BMW and Audi a lot, but thats not a bad thing, especially since they obtained Audi's chief designer and BMW's Chief Performance guy, Albert Biermann and Peter Schreyer. But everyone else is being forced to copy Hyundai now. I like Buick a lot, but its not Buick who is changing the motor industry game, its Hyundai whos been doing that. Whats crazy about that. Is Hyundai/Kia are 2 of the newest car manufacturers in America, yet still its companies like Ford, GM and Cadillac who are being forced to step up and offer better quality because of Hyundai. Example, do a test comparison of the Hyundai Palisade that was introduced in 2019 to a Escalde that cost 35k more. You can look at the car reviews and see who they were picking. My wife got the 2020 Palisade Limited in 2019 and my cousin bought a 2019 Escalde. Now the Escalde had a slightly quieter cabin, and was bigger. That what you got for 35k more in price. The Palisade had better seats, full Nappa leather, had far superior technology and safety features. 10.25 inch infotainment screen compared to a 8 inch, fully customizable digital dash compared to analog, heads up display for the Palisade, his Escalde didn't have one, rear window shades Escalde no, Atomius highway driving Autonomous highway driving, his Escalde didn't have that, Harmon Kardon sound system sounded slightly better than the Bose in the Escalde, definitely much louder. Because of that comparison that all the review people were doing Cadillac FINALLY is offering a Escalde that is somewhat worthy of its price. That is just one of many example of Hyundai forcing other brands to step up there offerings
My son has an Essence he picked up used. The car had slightly over 17,000 miles on it and he picked it up for 19k. I took that car to Florida on a trip I made, and I have to say that this car is EASILY one of the most comfortable vehicles I've ever driven.

Great Review Sofyan...I saw your pic on IG showing the Envision. I cannot wait to see what your thoughts will be on that new Buick's design and dynamics.
The biggest market for this car is China. The southern regions of China love GM cars because they're made there. I feel like the exterior and interior already look dated, not sure what Buick was thinking.
It has an old school look I agree but that's the best if both worlds though. I've seen this 3 times on the road so far and it looked awesome everytime.
I agree on the Buick in China. In the years I lived in Beijing I saw hundreds of them every day. The Chinese do not have the 'past history' getting in the way of their view of this vehicle. I never found out what they cost there but being around $50 in the USA puts them over into Lexus - Lincoln - Genesis territory. I'm not sure who Buick thinks their competition is these days.
Just bought a 2017 LaCrosse Premium. It's a bit rough on the outside, I estimate at least $8000 in exterior repair, most of the time on the driver side rocker panel. Probably from a lube monkey not jacking the car up using the jack points. The paint is White Frost Tricoat, or G1W, and it is peeling bad on the fenders, the hood, the roof, and the deck lid. Someone painted the gloss black pillar trims with some cheap black nail polish. Pretty rough exterior to say the least and a questionable lack of reporting on CarFax. However, this is probably the best of the Buicks in recent years from what I've worked on. I like that the one I bought has the 3.6 V6, no sunroof, and vented seats. And no Hi-Per Struts, that's too It is very quiet and the ride quality is what I expect from a boat that weighs similar to an older Sienna. Remote start and keyless entry is great, as it gets hot down in south MS during the summer. With the WeatherTech shades I ordered for it, it cools down very quick and when I take the shades down, it's like I just pulled it out of the garage. This will be a treasured car for years to come. With my experience as a 3rd gen bodyman and experience as a GM technician, I can have the LaCrosse looking and driving the way it came from the factory.
Hi Sofyan - I'm an ardent viewer of your videos, by far my favorite auto review channel. Well done!Any ideas as to when the new Audi A6 and Q5 will be out? Will love to have your reviews on these. Thanks!
Audi hasn't shown a new A6 yet, its supposed to be redesigned for the 2018 model year though. And the new Q5 was just shown, we'll be looking into trying to get our hands on one once it enters the press fleet for our area.
It’s a Cadillac XTS , looks real nice, Buick needs to bring back the grand national gnx to compete with the hellcat!!! Imagine that! A muscle could design, with a modern day V8 turbo instead of the V6 turbo back then, Atleast 500hp to compete against the scatpack, and a 725hp gnx national to compete against the hellcat!! Would be amazing!
You sir have a serious bias against Buick. Your comment earlier in the comment section referring to your use of chosen opening music in this video as an attempt to make this car more "hip" with an emote implying sarcasm, further illustrates this bias. Whether you like it or not, yes the LaCrosse is an entry-level ES competitor, its the direct competition, actually. You may not have seen it cross-shopped, but it has. The LaCrosse is also widely cross-shopped with the likes of the CT6 also. (anyone wanting big American luxury will look at both, as well as a few others). I've seen it several times, I purchased a CT6 and the dealer pointed this fact to me. Anyhow, this is a beautiful Buick. If you want to include yourself as a "professional" car reviewer, and not some RUclipsr who is an amateur hobbyist, please stop with the bias. One more point, the Lexus ES is now days arguably the defacto entry level luxury or "old man's" luxury car. However, you rarely see bias again't Lexus over that fact. Calling the LaCrosse a "family car" perpetuates your bias further and is immature. The LaCrosse is not in the "family car" segment - that is for the likes of the Ford Taurus, Accord, Optima, etc. I'd trust the marketing teams over your opinion. These multi-national billion dollar corporations are not stupid, they no exactly who their competitors are.
Furthermore, if you want to see how great reviews are done, check out surbaruwrxfan's channel. He's 10/10 reviewer and you could take a few points from him.
Yoshiaki K. you lost me at the idea we should trust marketing. lol marketing's sole job is to sell you something you wouldn't otherwise buy, otherwise why spend the money to market it?
I appreciate the review, but I wish you could review lower trims as well. It's hard to really compare vehicles realistically when they're all showing off all the bells and whistles, you know?
First time I heard this. The center and rear mounted brake lights are LED according to the product info and the images in the video certainly seem to back that up. Are the rear turn signals traditional bulbs? Can't tell that.
what about the lesabre? wasn't this also a replacement for that or would that have been the Lucerne? and platform for a new impala? the impala is already awesome it doesn't need a redesign
Subscribed! Also when are you guys going to review more Subarus? I'm currently leasing one and I really love it. Would be nice to see more videos of Subaru.
The Lexus ES is on the same platform now as the Toyota Avalon, so why at the end did you price compare it to an S-Class because they're both large sedans when the Lexus ES is the natural competitor as mentioned several times earlier in regards to snobb appeal? Overall, you really did seem like you were in a bad mood that day. Your choice to not edit the beginning out where you are using the paper map while test driving the top-line $48,000 Buick LaCrosse screams how much you were really interested in checking this car out and testing it. You wouldn't even use the car's navigation GPS system.
I am very surprised that being top trim no 3rd climate level for rear seat or even heated rear seats? What are they going to put in the Impala? Hyundai and KIA offer more in the Compacts.
I always watch your reviews and notice you floor the pedal every time you pull from a stop. Can you pull off less aggressively at least once to show the engine sound and quietness? The average person doesn't peel off at every stop sign. LOL. Thanks.
He's Asian. For a good driving video he's not the one. LoL for tech features or math to figure out fuel mileage he is the one. That's why we had techno music at the begging of a BUICK car video. Horrible. He's nice and has good videos though so I'll give him a pass on this one.
A lot of us are actually interested in how it accelerates from a stop. He usually only takes off aggressively two or three times at the most. All cars can take off slowly or moderately, but not all cars have the ability to break the tires loose and move out aggressively. So as for me, I'm glad he lets us see what the car can do when it's called on to haul ass.
Is it just me, or is that whack new shifter probably gonna hurt some old people? You KNOW there's gonna be some senior citizens who're gonna immediately forget how to use that thing, and wreck their brand new Buick. Lol
It's not really as complicated as it seems. In actual use, it uses logic technology where it intuitively knows your next move. When parked, you have to push the side button to engage drive. But if you are backing out of a driveway in reverse, you don't have to push the button to engage drive, you simply pull the lever back as you would with any other car.
2014 Buick lacrosse premium 2 also year 15 and 16 similar best Buick lacrosse so far in my opinion beautiful car front to back, I'm not a fan of the rear lights on the new generation ..
.....AS I LOOK AT THIS BODY STYLE.......IT REMINDS ME OF MY 1995 IMPALA SS.......THEY (CHEVY/GM) SHOULD USE THIS BODY TO BRING BACK THE IMPALA SS ( 95-96)!!!!
That start stop feature is not going to age well, and probably is going to effect residuals. Imagine after several years when you try to sell it and the engine is much choppier, what it will be like to constantly be starting and stopping, on top of going through celluloids quickly. In G-d I trust.
We did a Redline First Drive back in Sept where we only had the car for a couple hours, this is the full review after getting the car for a week to test.
He does point out an interesting cost cutting step - not having automatic windows on all the windows. Even my much more low level Saab 9-3 has that built back in 2006. The engine sounds when he floors it sounds exactly like the Enclave which is an older version of the same engine. Question not answered that I am curious about - the new suspension with the new HiPer Strut system - does it prevent torque steer? He appears to have that but does not mention it.
It's been said the Chinese aren't impressed with cars like Acura, Lexus and Infinity because they see them as fancier versions of Honda, Toyota and Nissans. They're interested more in a smooth stable ride and a quiet cabin with decent arm and legroom.. The majority that buy the Buicks will ride in the back seat and have a driver.
@@joedidit3233 True. And that is a standard, outward sign of status in many Asian societies ... successful people don't have to drive themselves, they have drivers. Wealthy dudes have another driver for their children as well. Hiring a driver is much cheaper in that part of the world, however, than it would be in the US.

I still want a roadmaster
I'm thinking of buy used 17' Buick Lacrosse.
I'm a Buick man for life. A most reliable brand, rated higher than Cadillac by Consumer Reports
Beautiful. this could be new Opel Omega. Unfortunately it won't be.
Excellent video!
bought this model- great luxurious car.
The rear design looks better than the front.
Does the 2017 Lacrosse have automatic stop/start of the engine? I'm trying to avoid that by buying used
Did anyone else notice the striking resemblance between the exterior of this car and the Volvo S90
HollisterLoBoiz that's a good comparison in my book.
HollisterLoBoiz I just commented that
The Volvo is a better looking car but also has an ugly rear end.
Looks nothing like a volvo. Volvos are boxy. This is swooping and flowy
The Volvo S90 is much better looking. Coming from a GM fan.
What a sick car
I am a successful 23 year old software developer and I really dig buicks these days!
Nobody cares about your age or your successful endeavors snow flake.
@@marathon5605 Well I'm happy for him get off youtube 4 year old
I appreciate the review, but I wish you could review lower trims as well. It's hard to really compare vehicles realistically when they're all showing off all the bells and whistles, you know?
Will you being doing a review of the Volvo S90 soon?
Hopefully soon! We've asked Volvo for one, they'll send it over when they get one in our local press fleet :)
I love the back💀. Doesn’t need to be overdone
taillights are Led which is pretty apparent in the video
The brake lights are not LED, that's what we were referring too.
Luke Hoisington last gen lacrosse replaced Lucerne. regal became midsize entry
Luke Hoisington Chevrolet needs to bring back the impala fog lights for me to enjoy it lol them LED daytime running lights need to go
Didn't even know Buick came out with a new lacross marketing team fail
Subscribed! Also when are you guys going to review more Subarus? I'm currently leasing one and I really love it. Would be nice to see more videos of Subaru.
Subaru has loaned us vehicles in the past, but their press fleet is very small in our area. We hope to get our hands on the new Impreza soon!
Redline Reviews Fair enough. I hope for the best. Keep up the good work.
Car looks great except that back end
THEY RUIN THE LACROSSE!!! Shit look like the old models for Grannys again
Hate the back end but it is a great car
I love the back yall young niggas wack im 31 n thats a og car put it on 22 n damn nigga that bih b fire i might buy one myself 🤷🏿♂️
Sofyan, please review 2017 Hyundai Azera.
We have a Cadenza scheduled next month. The Azera is not in the DC press fleet at this time.
Wow...just bought a 2013 Buick LaCrosse and my LaCrosse is much nicer. This is just a great, beautiful car. NOT an old person's car.
R Stan people who are slaves to the opinions of others can't understand that
I always watch your reviews and notice you floor the pedal every time you pull from a stop.
Horrible. He's nice and has good videos though so I'll give him a pass on this one.
beebop shopbop Lmao 😂
I don't always stop, but when I do, I peel out every time.
Lol
CrazyIvan1337 old people are doing fine in bmw models with similar shifters
It's not really as complicated as it seems. In actual use, it uses logic technology where it intuitively knows your next move. When parked, you have to push the side button to engage drive. But if you are backing out of a driveway in reverse, you don't have to push the button to engage drive, you simply pull the lever back as you would with any other car.
For this car's audience it didn't need a technological shifter just one that was pleasing to use.
When can you review a 2008 Acura TL Type - S
Thats weird. I have a 2017 essence model and the one touch all the way down (and up) power windows work on all four windows.
2014 Buick lacrosse premium 2
also year 15 and 16 similar best Buick lacrosse so far in my opinion beautiful car front to back, I'm not a fan of the rear lights on the new generation ..
love the new lacrosse now they need to do something about the regal.
Mike Harris next year. look up the 2018 open insignia
redline reviews do you like the lacrosse better then the impala
yes when I think of a true full size buick sedan I do think of Buick . The 1968 Buick Le Sabre that is. Nothing today comes close-sad..
2012 buick lacrosse review?
No, the look of the back matches well with the front to me.
I’m buying one for my wife but thanks for the review. I need my down payment, I’m a little nervous. I need help!?!
.....AS I LOOK AT THIS BODY STYLE.......IT REMINDS ME OF MY 1995 IMPALA SS.......THEY (CHEVY/GM) SHOULD USE THIS BODY TO BRING BACK THE IMPALA SS ( 95-96)!!!!
That start stop feature is not going to age well, and probably is going to effect residuals.
Imagine after several years when you try to sell it and the engine is much choppier, what it will be like to constantly be starting and stopping, on top of going through celluloids quickly. In G-d I trust.
This car it’s very similar to Opel Insignia. Right?
Didnt you review this car already?
We did a Redline First Drive back in Sept where we only had the car for a couple hours, this is the full review after getting the car for a week to test.
We need a BMW X6 or X6M review
Kyron Baxter I doubt u could afford it.
Can you review the 2019 LaCrosse or Enclave?
ooh a sunroof...viewing the rest of the vid now
Hey Sofyan, can you review the new Chevy Cruze hatch? and the accord, elantra, golf, stang and maro
We get the Cruze hatch next week and next month we get an Accord V6 Touring sedan.
Thanks Sofyan I'm looking forward to it
Won't be watching the over rated accord
Center console armrest is so high. Seems much higher than the door armrests
Reminds me of a Volvo S 90 an I love it
Rear end and tail lights... NOT convincing....
Am from Nassau Bahamas how come I don't see know CD player in this Buick Lacrosse..
This is a gussied up Chevy Impala, no? Looks like the exact same body besides the grill and taillights.
Another review actually mentions getting the Impala with the same options for $5,000 less.
Actually, the Impala is based off the previous generation Lacrosse, due to be built on this platform it`s next generation.
Buick should upgrade the LaCrosse screen from the 8" to the 12"! 8" is sort of small for 2017!
Alwaaaaaaaays comments on the door thud!
Zac Jumah Hey! I come here for that thud. Lol
Zac Jumah the sound of the door shutting is very important.
It's a new car. I mean what the hell did expect a flimsy creak?
Steering feel and weight?
That sounds good when you floor in.
Get the battery eAssist that gets almost 40 mpg at 75 mph in Car & Driver testing.
Why the Chinese are so obsessed with Buick ?
Buick needs to be slapped for this lol the 2016 looks way better
please change your cameras... the quality is not that good!! your reviews are grate, your presentation is perfect but the video quality is not ok and it's not on par with everything else on this channel. pleaseeeeeee change them
Grate...
RMA 1902 you have bug eyes
Did he just compare a Buick Lacrosse with an MB S class?
I adore how here one talks about how Buick designed this car ...... It's nothing less than than a Opel Insignia which has under hone slight cosmetic surgery and been rebadged as a Buick .... don't get me wrong it's a good car, only Buick had very little to do with its development other than being a part of the GM group!
