Appreciate the Amazon link! Turns out the wife's Cruze has the same battery, so I know where I'll be buying a new battery from!! It appears to be retained the same way as your LAX, but is just under the main trunk liner so I won't have to remove any clips. It resides in the way back, so I sure hope to hell I can easily retrieve it through the back seat!!

Yes no problem! I hope your job is easy, but honestly your battery might be easier to get to like you said just by going through the trunk. Does your battery have a vent tube as well?

@@oneanddonediy Indeed it does have a vent tube.

I really appreciate you sharing this bro, but it was nothing was wrong with that old battery, mine has been like that since new, its not supposed to stay at 14 at all times, the power alternates from alternator to battery, if there is no major load, it's not going to be that high.. just so you know

After doing further tests, I'm starting to believe that now. But the problem was that my voltage doing battery charging, which I monitored with a scan tool, never got above 13 for more than 2 weeks with the old battery. I know that the charging system of the car does not keep the battery at 14 volts 100% of the time. It charges then stops charging and begins charging again, but it makes it to 14.4 volts most of the time, however, the new battery does get up to 14.4 volts like it should from time to time. Pretty much 60 to 70% of the time while driving. And the rationale was that being in the car was a 2017 and it was the original battery. It's unheard of a battery to last that long nowadays. Additionally, it appears that the cold cranking amps dropped dramatically and the resistance increased with the old battery. However, the new battery now has the same cranking amps and the resistance as the old battery ( when out of the box the SOH was 100%). I am totally baffled by this. So in other words, I am in the process of compiling all their data and to make a follow-up video on why I think that this charging system in this car just does this to the battery and my battery was never faulty in the first place. It's just that the charging and the start and stop system on this car is incredibly complex and you'll see that in my follow-up video. But for sure I do agree, I'm beginning to believe that my original battery is still all good. But in any case, I showed people how to change the battery and it's not that hard 😂

But I'm still trying to figure out why they cold cranking amps went down 300 and something and a resistance went up to 7 ohms. Baffling.

I got a 17 lacrosse and it died on me at the red light the other day. Not sure what’s going on but it will start with a jump but then dies. I’m gonna try and replace the battery anything else I should check

Nope, if you do everything I did in the video you'll be just fine. If you have a way to maintain your computer memory, you can do that, but you don't really need to to do it. If you have any questions just let me know and I'll see if I can help you out. If not, maybe somebody else reading will help out as well.

Well first you need to actually check your battery to make sure it is actually dead and will not have a state of charge. That's high enough to allow enough voltage to come out of the battery to start a car. Maybe if you have have the alternator checked with a good battery checker as well and you can do a charging and a cranking test.
