In sintesi, sembra che in 57 minuti R Soloveitchik ha detto tre cose:
1. Gli non-ebrei possono distruggere al livello fisico, ma non sono capaci di fare danni a livelli più profondi.
2. Gli ebrei, invece, sono capaci di fare danni molto più profondi, rendendo impuri tutto l'ebraismo.
Questa differenza si evince facendo confronto fra i danni fatti al Beth haMikdash dagli "Greci" (codice di Chazal per ebrei ellenizzati) che non hanno distrutto la struttura bensì טמאו כל השמנים e la destruziine completa del omonimo struttura effettuata dai Romani.
Allora la terza cosa che sottolinea R Soloveitchik e' che:
3. Il meccanismo letterario che usa R Soloveitchik per fare il confronto è la spada di Tito, ricordato in Masechet Gittin, che ha strappato il parochet di Kodesh haKodahim. Dentro di essi sono conservati i resti delle tavole della legge, oggi rappresentati dal sefer Torah. I Romani riescono a tagliare il pergameno ma le lettere, rappresentando lo spirito di ebraismo, volano via, e trovano nuova dimora su altri sefer Torah scritti dopo. Solo gli ebrei stessi riescono a portare טמאה in modo che le lettere scompaiono.
Perciò il miracolo di בימים ההם riferisce alla nostra sopravvivenza nonostante gli atti distruttivi dagli non-ebrei durante la storia, la cui esempio emblematico è la distruzione del secondo Beth haMikdash, opera dagli Romani.
