(Early 70's) I would sometimes join my Boneh Torah dad to wintertime Motzei Shabbos drashot by Rav Soloveitchik at Maimonides in Brookline, a delegation from Providence PHDS/NEAT would often attend.
The Rav i met in person at his home and when he gave me sage advice.
Also interesting the Chabad connection of Rav Joseph B. Soloveitchik, Rav Avigdor Miller and Rav Nachman Cohen PhD, and Chabad mentors of mine: Rav Moshe Draizin, Rav Yitzchak Dubovick, Rav Peretz Gold, Rav Yehoushua Laufer, Reb Yaacov Hanoka PhD, Reb Arnie Gotfryd PhD, .., Reb Chaim Shimon Marks, Rav Shmuley Schlanger, and of course The Rebbe
