    My mom took me to see Predator when I was 10 years old in 1987. To this day it still remains in my top 5. Greatest movie monster of all time.

      Stan Winston School hell, I saw both "Predator" films in the theaters when I was a child (same goes for "Aliens" and "Terminator 2"), and I had hoped you guys had worked on the first "AVP" movie. still, you guys rock!!!!!

    The Predator is one of the greatest characters that was ever created and we all thank Stan Winston's team for creating an iconic character

  • @NewfieParamedic

    As great as these guys are, I give 50% credit to Kevin Peter Hall for bringing this Predator to life. They created the creature but Kevin made it real.

    • @StanWinstonSchool

      We all agree. Kevin gave it life. - David

      But if it wasn't for Stan who came in like a blessing from the heavens we most likely would not have this creature we all know and love. One of if not the best Alien creature ever created for film imo.
      Yes KPH did a terrific job with his body motions to bring this awesome Alien alive.

    • @georget10i
      @georget10i 6 лет назад +3

      He really did a fantastic job and made the character what it is. He gave Predator its unique character of an alien hunter, who is curious, interested in the world it is exploring while on a hunt, rather than a mindless destroyer.
      We also have to give credit to Jean-Claude Van Damme for hating the original costume and quitting, lol.

      NewfieParamedic , Stan made the suit & Kevin made the monster

      They try to make all these new predator films when the fact of the matter is .... Predator died , sadly along with Kevin Peter Hall . There will never be a correct recreation of the character. EVER!

    Since I was a kid (I'm 43 now) and having watched Predator and other iconic films, I was fascinated by the artistry that was involved in making these wonderful characters. And even though I studied art and graphic design and am a designer/illustrator, one of my biggest regrets is not attempting to work in this field. Listening to these guys and watching innumerable documentaries has me in awe and sadness in equal parts. Thanks for posting this video.

    Thanks to this reunion, meeting Jamie Hall (nephew of Kevin Peter Hall) here we went on to make a suit for him and he wore it at Monsterpalooza 2013... a few months later he wore and acted in the same suit for a short film- Predator vs Wolverine by Bat in the Sun. It was his dream to someday wear a Predator suit like his uncle, what a natural!!

    What an amazing panel I've been fascinated with the predator costume since I was a kid. Matt does an awesome job of asking questions too and getting out the good stories, keeps it fresh. I'd love to see a 4-Hour full-on documentary about the Predator movie one day. This is a great listen though. It pisses me off that we're so deep into CGI, these costumes created such a real scare back in the day, to see them go away is really sad. I have no emotion watching a computerized creature.

    I would have loved to hear a little about the masai warrior aesthetic and the wolverine sort of thing with the wristblade being talked about, i love the masai physique though on the original pred. Thank you some much for this. I'm a big fan of predator ever since I first saw the movie as a little kid. Its amazing to see how you all talk about it. I wish I was there because, I have a question and I would love to know the answer. After all those year, how does it feel when the character you work so hard on, becomes almost as real life creature? Because Predator now is not only a movie character but is a race with culture and everything.

      I thought it was very cool of Robert Rodriguez to show us the Rogue Predators side of things. The Preds that were outcast from the tribe because they didn't follow rules..so these Preds started their own tribe hunting and killing everything in their path, including "regular" Preds. Thats really the short of it.

    I am THE number one fan as like other number one fans of the Predator franchise. 1st Predator is a classic and the 1st AVP was pretty decent. Bcuz I'm a fan I appreciate the other films as well even though it could have used a better story by the writers. I really hope the original writers along with new writers can/will make another Predator movie and still have a link to the others. Especially "Predators" and the 1st AVP... That can open the door to a great story

    '*******Don't read this if you want any part of this video spoiled*************
    I believe, it was in Stan Winston's book, that he did eventually find out that the crew had pranked him, but it was years and years afterwards, I think it was during the DVD recording or something. He told the story, and was blaming Arnold, when the crew revealed they were responsible.
    I may have to reread the Winston effect, as it was either there or somewhere else where it was revealed.

    Predator was responsible for my worst nightmare of all time about ten years ago. Never before have I ever woke up covered in sweat. Never since do I eat spicy before bed. I was being chased through the jungle by a Predator and it was personal. Maybe I killed its sister or something but this Predator wanted me dead!

    I haven't watched the recent predator movies... mainly cuz they suck balls.. but is Predator still real?? And not a cgi videogame monster??

    • @Optimegatrongodzilla
      @Optimegatrongodzilla 9 лет назад +1

      It's still real. Actually, none of them are bad. Not even "Aliens VS Predator: Requiem". Could it have been better? Yes! But, it is still an entertaining movie when it comes to the Predator, the Aliens, and the Predalien.
