    An interview with the self-taught artist, designer, key artist, and effects supervisor for both Stan Winston Studio and Legacy Effects.
    Christopher began working for Stan Winston at legendary character creation workshop Stan Winston Studio on TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY where he became a Key Artist and character designer for many years, all the way through Stan's passing and the establishment of Legacy Effects by Stan's core team, where Christopher works to this day.

    Hi Chris remember me . It's mark from Las Vegas. I taught you how to sculpt using a block of cheese in the back room of taco bell . Remember when we went to see Stan Lee at UNLV . And u learned to draw. Awsum video to inspire people .

    Chris swift is the world's greatest special effects artist. I used to work with him at taco bell. back then he used to carve monsters n sculptures out of blocks of cheese. congrats. mark tirabassi

    that last bit, about motivation, I identify with what Chris said very much, the SWS crew members were very lucky to have Stan, to be that approachable, is almost non-existent now.
    after 20 years I still ask myself that very thing, mostly trying to find direction in an industry that feels Lacking on the practical, creative outlet, that which i live for, I hope to find my path on this ever changing industry, maybe the Renaissance will come.

    Loved this intimate chat. You can glean from it that the magic of creating fx for the world audience and being an artist in that field, isn't lost on even the most accomplished artist. I have to wonder if there is room in that world for new blood, with the industry employing digital teams and the skills of experienced fx gurus available. I imagine that you have to have an extensive portfolio and some credits in film to even get an interview. How steep is the trail to the fx wizard land?
