- In designing the look of the Fugitive Predator, director Shane Black wanted a character closer to that of the original 1987 Stan Winston design. Based on Bryan Wynia concept art, Wayne Anderson sculpted the head, joined by sculptors Mike O'Brien, Adam Dougherty, Mike Rotella rounding out the team.

It's always amazing to me all the fine detail work that goes into this stuff that the audience will never notice BUT if it wasn't there they would because it's that detail that ties it all together.

I didnt care for any of the actors in that movie. I only watched it for the awesome design and look of the Predator. Such a great design. Hats off to the creative team.
Is a shame the camera doesn't do justice to the amazing amount of details put into this scultps, i love this work!! I would kill to have one ofthose mask used in the film!!!

This...THIS is the reason why i have mad respect for sculptors, and I can't sculpt to save my freaking life. I like how people say the movie sucked and made no sense when in reality it made PERFECT sense.

Thanks for showing different stages of sculpting! Often videos like this feature the work nearly completed so it's hard to get a sense of what went into it.

I have been look for this for so long. Thank you Im currently sculpting a 3d Model of this to print. I have been only using photo references this turn around images gives me for insight on creating the rest of the head details. The mouth of this character is a Pain to deal with. So I'

Predator's visible electromagnetic ray band is very narrow. Only "infrared" ray vision is
their world image without helmet filter. Predator's big fang, dreadlocks, imprint body pattern,
most of their body design is meaningless as their sex appeal. Still it's very mysterious.

As a fan of the predator movies, I hated this one, but the designs and kills were awesome.

Mild critisism of the head from a hardcore Pred fan:
1. Upper mandible tusks are one and a half times longer than needed;
2. Throat sits too low in relation to jaws;
3. Throat looks like anus, traditionally it always looked like vagina. I know we all have our preferences, but... =D

P.S. was Scar's head there just for size reference? Speaking of, the on-screen head felt pretty oversized but here it looks good... something went wrong during casting or was it actor related issue?
I am hard core fan too (also an artist) think it's a little bit of a neatpicking, because all peaople have different proportions of the skull, therefore it doesn't need to be exact copy of the original.
This video had infinitely more entertainment value than the awful movie that all of this hard work featured in. Thank you for sharing.

Still prefer Stan Winston's and Trouble Makers studio work on the predator. Not the super predator but the classic stuff.
I don't think the point of doing it is to be "better" than someone else's work.
