    OMG I am obsessed with this episode! Marci Klein has to be in the Top 10 Fly interviews! Please bring her back for more at some point, she was delightful. She painted such a vivid portrayal of the behind the scenes action, arguably more than every guest...except Lorne.

    "Lorne telling ghost stories" is a hilarious premise. I so so want an episode of everyone they know who does a good Lorne impression doing impressions together. Lorne-Off!

    .
    It would have been REALLY nice if they had given some background on Ms. Klein prior to launching into her memories of her time on the show (as with other less famous people appearing on this podcast who were mainly behind the cameras on SNL)........where she grew up, went to school, how she got her start in show biz, and how she came to be Lorne Michael's "right hand man" for so many years.
    As much as I LOVE this podcast, it would be nice if Dana and David would remember to at least touch on some of the particulars of their guest's formative years prior to getting on SNL, especially those guests whose histories we might not know too much about, like Ms. Klein.....

    Needing more in depth interviews! I really value these. Y'all gonna invite Bill Maher on here? Or Do an episode dedicated to Phil Hartman because honestly he's one of my favourites he was such a staple from my childhood even tho I was born in 95, I watched it All. No filters! Anyway, I love these & watch on Spotify but would like Some video footage

    I’m interested in how Marci doesn’t pour over Lorne like allot of former SNL staff, makes you wonder if it’s because she did 99% of the work and got none of the credit.

    This was so hard to listen to. Dana can’t stop interrupting. On a good note, at least Dana didn’t tell us how famous and popular he was 17 times… just 7.

    • @fogpeople
      @fogpeople Год назад +5

      I think both of them don't realize that their audience has heard these stories dozens of times. I understand wanting to commiserate with the guest but how many times have you heard Dana talk about how he singlehandedly turned Johnny Carson against SNL? Or that David wasn't told how things work when he started? I get the cutting up and riffing with the guest, but they're the GUEST. Do your riff and pass the ball. Dana has a terrible habit of doing an impression and then spending five times as long apologizing for doing an impression. I've turned them off multiple times and had to skip or come back to eps later because they're trying to compete with the guest about something. Bedwetting, mean siblings, depression, bombing.... they don't need to prove anything! They've got a great rapport and they're quick on their feet and ask great questions. They just need to ask the question and let the person answer it.

    Way, way, way too many "Remember whens?" without the actual stories, or even half-stories. Lots of first-name-dropping, too. This episode is unfortunately almost incoherent.
