The kitten has been the BEST addition to the shop EVER ! We all get to see a real soft side to a "rough" group of builders. LOL
They need a mouser in he shop
You can easily train a cat to come when you call em just like a dog: treats=success
@@carenclemmons5002 Cats are eminently train-able. There are two factors that help that are kind of specific to cats: 1) they inherently love routines, and 2) they also love games. Make something a "game", and make it consistent and repeatable, and your cat will happily do it. Treats help, but often just positive attention will do the trick.
Also, be aware that cats watch/smell/listen to *everything* , and understand _way_ more than most people give them credit for...
Time for that cat to use nature's litter box. I good cat is a pleasure, a bad cat is a pest. That's a good cat.
Where is the border collie? I miss him.
Edit: Oh, wait. I spotted him starting around 19:49. He’s still there!
Landon’s going to be the brightest one in that automotive class, thanks to his dad
Whoooo....
Whoooo.....
Whoooo. There horse rider
It'll be because of his uncle's and cousins 😂
Lol, that's the truth. So no bad grade's Lan. 🇺🇸
@@doug9418 let's get realistic,
We always have one bad grade,
I always did, and I would rotate it between classes so everyone knew I was human, not some nerd with herd
lmfao you must be watching different videos than what i'm seeing, i doubt there's much that paul can do for that kid.
Landon is teaching it!
😂😂
Landon’s always at the shop working and shows genuine interest in what’s going on, as a parent you’d have to be happy one of your boys shows interest and has a good work ethic.
This is hands down one of the best family oriented channel. So much values and love and laughs. 🎉🎉🎉 hope to many more years of success
Matt's channel is becoming to commercialized. I don't really enjoy it anymore. Fab rats is where its at. Never boring here
Matt's channel is becoming to commercialized. I don't really enjoy it anymore. Fab rats is where its at. Never boring here
Good to see papa Dar. We haven't seen him at the shop in a long time. You guys knocked this job outta the park. Crazy how easy you make this look. Was good to see Michelle also.
That is one adorable cat!!! Best investment I've made with cat husbandry lol are the arm and hammer sifter litter pans. It's two solid pans and one sifter pan in the middle. Everyday you clean it is like panning for gold. Well turd colored gold haha
We got one of those recently and it is way easier than the scoop.
That transfer case is almost too pretty to get dirty. It does look like it's well built and ready to do the job for whatever it gets handed to it. God bless you all.
Paul with a cat poop scoop was not content I ever expected on this channel. But it's as wholesome as heck and I'm here for it!
Pro tip: don't ever stand over the box, flick from the side and make sure you're down wind!
Am pretty sure you want to be upwind, not downwind.
Everyone there should be very grateful for Paul's dedication to helping out. When I was 16, my father would have never done what Paul has done for Jace. He would have made me figure out how to do it all myself, or it would not get done.
My dad was a used car dealer. I got a car that belonged to get company when I was a teenager but I had to 1) accept the fact that it was for sale and could be sold at any time and 2) I gave it back when I graduated high school. I used to joke those other kids got cars for graduation, I had to give mine back!
I'll be honest with you I guarantee you that chas is paying for a lot of the parts, plus dads labor is not cheap, do you remember the time that they broke the window and they had to pay for it, I'm telling you right now they are not getting this labor for free.
@@chrisjohnson5888 Big difference between breaking his window because they were having an immature fight and one lost their temper, so he had to teach them both a lesson the hard way, and using your experience and knowledge to help build your own sons car. I highly doubt Paul would make either son physically pay him with money to help them. He just doesn't strike me as a money hungry, materialistic kind of guy. If they break something, then that's different. There's consequences for breaking shit. There aren't consequences for wanting or needing help. You're nuts if you think Paul's making money by charging his son to work on his car. If that were the case, they wouldn't be able to afford it and we wouldn't be seeing their cars on the channel. He makes money working on their cars as a direct result of people watching and purchasing from their store. I don't think money is that important to him. Some people would love to make money off of their family. Paul's not one of them.
there is value in that too. Each kid has a different personality.... and dads are at different points in life with each kid as well thus each kid.. get's raised little differen. If he did it intentional... or out of not having the father skills yet.... not sure...... but either way... sounds like you learned great lessons by "getting-er-done" instead of playing victim. So hold your head high... ohh and Listen closely again to Johny Cash's "A Boy Name Sue" esp. the end. Might make look at dad little higher too?
At least you had a dad.
Seeing that kitten sleeping that chair makes me think you should name it Sherm
Nice kitty. Every shop needs a good shop cat.😎
Coffee and Fab Rats 🐀. It's a good day
Bleepin' Colt's got your steering box. They did one for their S10 and didn't use it. It's already set up for hydro assist.
That's a cat that feels absolutely safe.
I knew a Dakota a long time ago,
She was sensational. ❤
Good morning FabCats!😸
Great to see the progress on the ol Dakota - looks like it’s gonna be a great ride 👍🏻
"FabCats" I was just about to make the same joke.Haha.
Finally something that I (might) know more about than Paul! High quality cat food makes the litter pan less stinky and "deposits" firmer (easier to scoop) My vet recommended Science Diet or Iams. And you can get it delivered to the middle of nowhere by your favorite big online retailer! It does cost more but the air quality in the shop will be worth it!
Good morning everybody and thumbs UP to Fab Rats! 👍 Good morning Janelle! 🐿
YAYYYYY!!!!! You did it!!!!! FIRST!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
gotta go walk neighbors doggie, say hi to MORR for me?
@@JanelleVocate-Ames I need to leave in a few minutes too. I hope that you have an awesome day Janelle!
You too sweetie!@@richardthomas1743
Poly is worse for NVH over rubber, Poly is firm to hold things in place, rubber is better for your application, as an example race cars use poly to be stiff and no squish, they remove the OE rubber mounts/bushings, hope this helps.
That cat is a great addition to the shop! Does it have a name?
yeah its socks
Another amazing custom build, Jace is one lucky dude to have the FABRATS TEAM Build this Beast of a Dakota !!!
Fantastic job Paul! For you to just picture something in your head then make it and it works makes me smile! 👍😇👏
Hey! I hate grinding too. I put a shed roof out back of my shop and got me one of them HarberFrate sand blasters. That thing really works. Also I used two old mobile home frame beams, laid them on their side and made me a long ramp that's eight feet tall on one end. I don't need another lift that way. It's cool because I just stop driving up at whatever height I want to be under my work. Oh yea, epoxy paint with sand on it in the tracks !
I hope your boys know how lucky they are to have a Dad like you. Lost mine at 19 years old. Blessings to you and your family! Thanks for the awesome videos and knowledge!
Don't worry dad will not let you down, he has alot of dedication to you boy's. 🇺🇸 Be Blessed.
my Friday just got better now i can watch some fab rats, Matt and Robby so glad they all drop a video on the same day just a pity Rory don't drop a video on the same day as you guys do
Maybe you should have put a pipe with holes to catch all the water in the concrete and directed it to somewhere else. Have it right in front of the doors so any water will go into the holes in the pipe and drain away from the shop. I think that would stop the flooding
French drain
Channels like these are 1000000x more enjoyable than reality TV. Powerblock was cool and all but this is where it's at
Good to see brothers helping each other. Hope all goes well with this build. Family need to Stick together more than ever before. Take care and God bless you all 🎉❤
Garage doors look nice those windows allow more light for us to see under the trucks better
In regards to your comment regarding ton the little cat My Mom always said...Dogs have owners....Cats have staff. pretty much sums it up. Love the channel, and the family especially what Paul does to teach and encourage his children. You all are doing a wonderful job raising your family. If you ever want to adopt a mechanically inclined senior citizen with some welding skills...i am available. lol Keep up the good work!
11:16 Should have put a gutter between the old and new concrete. Your flooding is going to be worse now. The problem would have solved with a gutter. I’m surprised the concrete guys didn’t suggest one.
Good seeing Dar showing up. That is one sweet build. Lots of nice machines and knowing how to do it. I hope the boys appreciate it.
Pull a prank by putting a fake human sized turd in the cat box and sit back and watch.🤣
I pulled that prank on my wife many many years ago and it was hilarious to watch her reaction.
I only wish I would have recorded it.
Funny how Paul doing the cat box brought back great memories for me.
Thank you 👍✌️🇺🇸
Real human turds are easier to get! 😁
@@jasonbecker4997
Believe me, that idea did cross my mind, but I know my wife.
Actually Dar, you’re the one who’s sitting in the Cat’s Chair. You’re just a comfortable cushion that has been displaced 😂
11:00 now if only Fabrats knew somewhere that does concrete, they could put a threshold hehind the doors to prevent all of that extra rainwater catchment on the yard from coming into the shop. 🤪
Great seeing the progress with this build.
That cat is a real kindred spirit with Papa Darr, just passed right out in that chair, dead to the world!
Paul that was amazing to watch you walk thru the process of figuring it out. Really cool & thanks for sharing it with us.
Happy to see Landon will be getting some real learning as well as his home training. Wish him the best.
Lando going to tech school can learn the newest technology of today, which will be a great asset to Fab Rats in the near future! Jace's truck is coming along nicely! We missed Ben's smiling face this week! I'm looking forward to what comes next! So until then, we'll see you on the next...
4:43 ..Is GREAT stuff! ... when I worked at the machine shop we had TONS of poly Urethane, in 5 deferent grades (by how much give it has) and it turns on the lathe perfectly ... I used to make bushings for everything :)
A few year's ago I poured 20 yards of cement in front of my shop early in the morning then went to lake powell as soon as it was smooth. Came home a week later to find deer tracks and a dog tracks and a cat track thru it
Hi Paul this is fascinating to watch you building the front end of Jason's truck how you have all of this in your head is fantastic and to watch how up come up with these idea's just blows me away wish I had the confidence to do what your doing, thanks for another fantastic video.
Every shop needs a kitty! Give it time, it’ll be your best bud.
Paul, thanks for sharing your content. I have never been a mechanic type person. But I truly enjoy watching you and your team. Nicely dune
Paul, looking at your water problem in the shop, While the one side isn't poured and the guys are there cutting concrete, have a 4" trough set in right at the existing floor and new drive concrete. Have a piece of grating cut to place on top. Run the trough at an angle for the water to run off one side. Problem solved !!
Nice job happening here with the whole truck, will be awesome, strong and very servicable when it's done. Thanks guys.
You guys are the best. I love every video and always leave inspired to continue my builds!
Paul’s use of Barnes parts reminds me of some wisdom I’ve heard a few times - A master will expend resources to save time, while a novice will spend time to save resources. Mark Novak was the first person I heard say that and I felt it in my soul. Good work Fab Rats!
It's always great to see a Fab Rats video no matter how long it may be. Always enjoy them. Beautiful truck. My grandpa had one. Miss him and that truck. Yours is coming along pretty well so far Rats. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friends. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
I’m thinking if you have a shop cat it probably roams outside sometimes. We used to train our indoor/ outdoor cats to go to the bathroom outside. We would pick a place outside to dump the litter box and the cat would start going out there; and then it just eventually starts going to the bathroom anywhere outside.
This is my favorite channel that I’m subscribed to…keep up the good work!
I like that "Just Like I Meant It” phase. I am going to use that with my boss this weekend. He will laugh!
That pretty cool, it's almost there. Have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Excelente! Dig watching the fab, and seeing tools like the ArcDroid being used. Always looking forward to the next installment...
Landon has a head start compared to the other kid in his class, he’s already has knowledge from his dad, Paul. Jas truck is coming together nicely. Who has a dad thst can work on, modify and has a shop with everything you’ll need to do it! Great video 🤙😎
This is just good ole Americana, small town wholesome family fun. Thank you for giving a snippet of your family interaction and collaboration on Chase's Dakota.
Your channel is very informative and entertaining. I have a little information to pass along to help when bending tube on the bender. My cousin who owns a muffler shop near Joshua Tree, Ca uses welding rod to bend a template and then uses that template at the bender to match up whatever tube he is bending. Works very well. Keep the videos coming guys !!!
So good to hear that Landen is going to trade/tech school instead of college. My granddaughter is going to welding school. At least they will be able to get a job when they are finished.
So Landon will learn the right way to do things :)
Awesome! Can’t wait to get back to my projects!! Love what you guys do!!
Dig a french drain in front of your 2 old shop doors and out beyond the building. That water will stop coming in the old shop side of the shop when it rains. Have a blessed day!
Hey fab rsts keep doing that family thing it sure impresses everyone that sees it the children are benefitting tremendously God bless you always Mel
I remember your first attempt at link suspension! Disaster!!
Man new trucks new trailers new camper new boat new shop.... but still makes us listen to that 20 year old swap cooler 😂
Looks like the new plasma cutter is a nice complimentary tool with the EyeCrometer!
I used Barned for all my radius arm build materials too..BUT...I did their enduro joints at frame and axle. It flexes so nice and with no binding with the enduro joints on each end. Just enough give no to bind.
Dakota is looking good . 10 years from now someone will be driving through Glendale and will see this , for sale slightly modified Dodge Dakota $$$ OBO :-) Thanks for sharing
Good job Landon soon you'll be teaching the old man a thing or two and he will love every minute of it you will make him proud.👍👍🇺🇲🙏🙏
I haven’t seen the way the bottom of your roll up doors set on the ground but if they sit flat on concrete level with the floor you can cut a little drop so the door is lower than the floor to try to keep water out. That’s what they did on my shop and it worked great.
Agreed on the cosmetic stuff! Functional or forget it.. more stuff waiting to be done! Another great vid!
Another great build, I learn something new every video. I'm driving through your area on Labor Day, I was thinking about stopping in the shack but I'm guessing you have better things to do on a holiday than hang out at the shop. I'll try to get back b y again sometime soon.
Excellent video! Great content, videography and editing!
Iam glad they still doing classes like that for high schools
Grandma Lolly is one of my favorite Feb rats team members. Her personality is just like my moms.
More Shop Cat! Now I can watch Fab Rats on the big tv with my wife.
Hunter's face at 1:44 LOL
I sure like what you build & fabricate ! Thanks for sharing !
that rear end table works pretty good
Awesome video! All most done. Thank you for sharing!
Dogs are pack members. They respond to commands from a pack leader. Cats are solitary hunters, they are wary of interaction until the trust a person
Fab Rats is such a cool channel! All the guys work well together and even smile sometimes😂 even the shop cat is chill🤙🏻
You guys are so awesome I watch every single one of your shows some of them over and over fantastic Paul I don't know what you pay your guys but they are well worth every penny keep the good work up
That cutting machine is awesome
I needed this series to reinvigorate my drive to finish my 96 Dakota. Was gonna 4 link it, but the radius arm is a good idea. Have to do the SAS not because I want to, but because I can't get the 4BT in her otherwise.
You are awesome Paul Cox
That was a lot of work well done guy's thank you for sharing great video
I have found using those flexible wire ties is a good way to mock stuff up before I build it. Instead of bending my tape measure all around, I get a wire tire, shape and fit it like I want, then measure and build off of it.
That's some fine looking fab work and custom design on the fly. Not an easy thing to do.
I'm sure those boys know the value of all that work, and those parts going into that rig.
It'll be an awesome rig most folks will drool over! Good Luck!
Not being from the USA I really appreciate what the USA has done with trade schools, it´s really amazing kids can go receive professional training other than just jumping on to the academic world.
Every time he says “ya doubted me Hunter” is just a projection of how he doubted himself and is now proud he actually did it and cracks me up.
24:30 Nice to see the ArcDroid back in use! Jace's truck is looking good! Learn a lot from watching these videos. I'm thinking about fabbing up a pan hard bar for my Honda Accord now. I can't seem to find where the solid front axle is on it. Oh well. 😁
Hopefully you can get to your projects Paul , I have been trying that for ten years now my health is a problem. Get er done son.
Central California watching.
Congrats on going to a trade school Landon! Very needed right now for sure.
I had a 2000 Dakota that I loved, I’m in the NE and worth the winters the body feel apart. Fenders, rad support, spring shackles, gas tank feel out in the driveway, and other rust problems. The som of a gun ran like a top. Good luck Jace, your SW weather looks better, keep the shinny side up. It’s looking bad ass with the straight axle.
I'm just here for the kitten. The rest is bonus.
Any cat that can chill in the loud ambience of a fabshop is an awesome cat.
Yet Another Excellent Video Y'all! Absolutely Love All of your videos ❤
Dakota is looking great😮
Great job to all who has built that truck. I know he is going to love it. I do
