Hunter, even mig welding takes practice and experience. It is almost foolproof, but not 100%. No one starts out perfect. I am glad to see you are learning some stuff beyond swinging a camera.
This video is perfect. No rushing, just doing everything calmly. Landon and Hunter make the videos more fun. I bet grandma knows a lot about repairing vehicles. She’s an awesome mom and grandma. We love her. Happy Mothers Day Grandma and Michelle. ❤️🙏🙏👍👍❤️
i REALLY enjoyed the helping Hunter. Both the welding tutorial and the supporting his family. He's a good person to have around and I'd do anything within reason for him.
Paul is showing the boys for bases for almost all the trades….no matter what trade they go into or even if they get someone else to do some work they will know what’s going on….
@@John13Edge that was the best gift my dad ever gave me. Most are jealous of my knowledge in the trades and how I can do most myself some I just don't like to do

Today's video was pretty cool. I felt like I was right there hanging out with you guys in the shop. Hunter should get more camera time, he's a natural. I enjoy the shenanigans and how its just unscripted. Also, Paul you are a good teacher, showing all of us how to get stuff done! I've been watching since day one Great stuff
Wow, 1st Paul teaches him up on welding thin stuff, and later actually compliments him. Hunter must be in shock. I like these little bit of everything vids.
Hunter's idea is because he pays attention to the Fab Rats, Paul and Ben so he keeps the wheels of his brain turning. Also glad Paul is willing to help Hunter learn how to MIG, but he did say he could do stick pretty good. Thanks to everyone at Fab Rats for these cool vids.
Just some ordinary every day jobs to do, and it is good to see how you guys can even make some 'slow' days still fun and enjoyable! We need an update on the new shop addition too!
Grandma Lolly know what transmission fluid is NOT supposed to smell like LOL Great to see Paul and the gang graduating Hunter into more skills that he can use for the rest of his life!
For a camera guy your a pretty good welder, that’s a nice compliment from Paul,I really envy you guys, nobody I grew up around did this kind of stuff! You are truly blessed!
Paul it's really great seeing you takin the time to show the young ones how to do things[the important lil things ] & then lettin them do & show what they learn! It shows what he sees every day that's for sure.. y'all Cox boys are awesome in my books! Anyway have a great day and as paul would say " don't hit the pink things" lol till next time.. 👋 🐌☕🐢
Heartfelt moments like this are to be cherished by all. I certainly have. Moreover, that ratchet extension is so long that Paul can unbolt a header from Idaho while eating a basket of fries!!!! 😂
Thank you for the welding lesson. A young man learning from Paul would be something to tell the grandkids. Hey Ben, stay awesome. Like snoopy, you don’t have a lot to bark about, just getting the work done. And, hi grandma. Take care of yourself and watch after the kids.
Nice video on a fixing a bunch of thinks. Good job Hunter on welding the exhaust. You have to start somewhere. You saved your brother some money! Great job teaching/ Showing Hunter how to weld, Paul. HI ya Ben😎
Great to catch up on all the little outstanding jobs around the place. My only problem is by the time I fix all the busted stuff, there's no time left for the project, lol.
Ben, I would say use anti-sieze when you have two different metals, like stainless and regular steel and on any alloy like aluminium or magnesium. Oil and grease work great on a steel to steel connection.
Got some helpful stuff stuff done for yourself, for Hunter with some thin metal MIG training 6:04, and and for Wyatt who gets his exhaust tidied up at the family discount rate. Wyatt also learns his Nissan can do a burnout! All-in-all, it was a good day in the shop!
Paul you are a good teacher in my opinion I will be honest getting an opportunity to learn welding from you would be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this video getting all the small projects done and out of the way.
10:00 Hunter, welding (like many things) is about setting aside your ego and just practicing and learning from your practice. You're lucky my guy, you have people there who want you to get better and are willing to show you how. keep on rockin in the free world.
Paul, Sir you should have been a shop teacher. Your knowledge and abilities to explain are truly one in a million. I still want to sit next to Grandpa and watch someday., maybe nap too! 🤣 Your whole demeanor is contagious, love it! ❤️🙏😎🤙🛻💨
That's awesome to see Paul teaching Hunter how to weld, its very cool to see uncles (Ben too) that take the time with their nephews to teach them a valuable shop skills like that.
I've welding for years and still have troubles without burning a hole into thin metal great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and stay safe
Good job hunter. Trying is what counts. Just this past winter, boss asked me if I could weld some new rockers on one of the old work trucks. My response was I don't know but we're going to find out! And I'll be darned she turned out mint!
Man I grew up in a tire store. My father taught me the same set of skills, however my dad yelled a lot more than Paul. Hunters dry delivery is absolutely hilarious and someday I hope he and Lizzy arm wrestle for a charity or something. All the little comments on being allergic to silicone are hilarious as well- again I grew up hearing that stuff everyday. That extension paul used is for people who don’t like getting too close to their work! Much fun and I can’t wait until the next one. Be safe and thank you for sharing your family with us 😊
That smile on Ben's face when Paul missed with hammer was priceless. This means that it isn't the first time that's happened, and he knew not to stand so close. I smacked my big brother in the leg, swinging a hammer on a hammer wrench. Oh boy, was he mad at me, LOL I never hit him again after that.
Finally a Nissan in the shop. I love these vehicles. All the parts from the Titan to all of them are interchangeable. Putting the Titan suspension on the other platforms give you long travel. Even special Titan swap shocks you can get.
in little towns like Glendale where everyone is connected to everyone else either thru blood, friendship, or church it is remarkable you ever get time to work on your own projects
You guys hit the ball out of the park with the boat salvage videos, that game warden was on a power trip and thank you for taking him on. All the guys in your views are cool , Ben (new mechanic), Hunter, your mom, kids, Papa Dar, cousin Merlin, Michel not so much.
I know, more than anyone, that the small jobs need to get done, but if your out of projects (haha), there seems to be a Jeepster laying around there with Michelle's name on it. Getting it started for Mother's Day might be nice, just sayin'.
Love this kind of stuff! Really need a “build breakdown” video on the wood truck!!! Love any/all of what we have been shown of that beast and it definitely deserves its own video! It definitely seems like a realistic version of something that most of us are capable of cobbling together to have an awesome square body!!!
Liking Hunter more and more as he gains more skills. Not afraid to have himself filmed as a beginner getting more lessons. Good attitude, funny and more comfortable all the time. Great kid.
Thank you for everything you do , much better than regular TV. lol I wish I could be there, I'd work /learn for free just feed me once or twice a day and I'd be good. lol
Back in the late 1970’s I worked for a major auto testing fleet. We had a fleet of 18 wheelers that would break wheel lug studs all the time. They were running 150% of legal loads. We started using anti-seize and ended the failures overnight. The anti-seize helps on the threads but it’s really for the face between the nut bevel and the wheel rim. This prevents metal galling and allows the nut to fully tighten up without jamming into the wheel before it reaches full torque. If used correctly it will be much better than oil that can encourage the nut to work loose.
I really enjoyed this video. Really took me back to when I was a young man hanging out in the barn doing all kinds of little tasks with my father. It’s how I learned to weld and use all kinds of tools. It’s funny how all those small jobs add up to an entire day or two of work .
Videos like this are why this channel is so amazing the variety of content and the willingness to pass on knowledge and skills great job all the Fabrats Crew . Also I was interested in what brand of inspection light you use ?
Been welding and fixing for real close to 50 years now. It's a great life but I can cuss some words that would keep your editors busy. Actually you might only get 5 minutes a day that aren't bleeped. Part of the job!
I actually love welding! I'm just now, after 10 yrs, relearning everything I forgot. I mainly use my Mig welder to remove broken exhaust bolts/studs. I did repair an exhaust pipe the other day. God it looked awful, but at least it didnt look like chicken scratch.
Paul did such a great job on the welding critique that it even helped me improve my couch welding . And your right , it doesn’t matter what you put new tires on its going to look good .
Nice to see Ben adding a little oil to the studs. It makes a big difference several years down the road when the next person needs to pull the nuts! I use Silglyde on mine. It's very easy to apply, I think it stays in place better than oil, and I can pull nuts a decade or more later without any fuss from either the wheel or the stud.
You should never lubricate wheel studs if you torque the nuts, as you should,, because it fools the torque wrench and you can break the studs. Ask me how I know...
When it comes to teaching, Paul is a natural instructor. Another great video.
Hunter, even mig welding takes practice and experience. It is almost foolproof, but not 100%. No one starts out perfect. I am glad to see you are learning some stuff beyond swinging a camera.
I love that they both tease the heck out of Hunter and also jump in and teach him welding techniques!
This video is perfect. No rushing, just doing everything calmly. Landon and Hunter make the videos more fun. I bet grandma knows
a lot about repairing vehicles.
I like how Paul shows the young guys a trade that the can take through their lifetime.
Paul is showing the boys for bases for almost all the trades….no matter what trade they go into or even if they get someone else to do some work they will know what’s going on….
Always good to see or hear someone asking questions and then listening to the advice and answers given. Well done to both Paul and Hunter.
Paul has a great student. Makes teaching hunter worth it for him for him because he is actually listening and picking it up.

Don’t tell Robbie, but when your video drops, I hop on over to watch your video first, even if I’m in the middle of his. (Just happened)
😆
Same thing for me but for matt's offroad
Me too lol
@Adventures Of The Times Tiffany not a gud speler..😆

Hunter is lucky to have someone with as much experience as Paul has showing him something that took years to perfect.
Grandma Lolly know what transmission fluid is NOT supposed to smell like LOL Great to see Paul and the gang graduating Hunter into more skills that he can use for the rest of his life!

So cool to see Paul teaching hunter how to weld.wish I knew someone like Paul or Ben when I was growing up.
Right? Too many skills are not taught to the youth…
Teaching the youth. One of my favorite episodes right here 👍. Great job Paul letting him take lead on that weld job.
Matt and Ben are great teachers breaking Hunter into welding is awesome and showing him the correct way of doing it is professional.
More videos of Paul teaching. Hes very good at explaing how to do things with his blunt approach. Keep up the good work everyone. Great job.
Heartfelt moments like this are to be cherished by all. I certainly have.
Moreover, that ratchet extension is so long that Paul can unbolt a header from Idaho while eating a basket of fries!!!!
😂
I love how Paul is still chewing on his derby performance. Not hard on himself or anything lol 😂
Good video!!! I love doing a whole bunch of little projects in a day. Always makes me feel like I really kicked butt getting things done! LOL!!
I’ve switched to copper anti seize, because it stays put and doesn’t wash away. It’s a bear to get off the skin, but it works.
Right on, I believe watching fab rats fix a variety of different things in one video was beneficial and enjoyable. 😎
I love Paul as a teacher! Good job!!
Paul, watching you teach Hunter, but letting him DO it, was awesome. Well done sir.
Paul reminds me of my Mentor that I had 50 years ago. Calm and patient, made the learning easy.
Thank you for the welding lesson. A young man learning from Paul would be something to tell the grandkids. Hey Ben, stay awesome. Like snoopy, you don’t have a lot to bark about, just getting the work done. And, hi grandma. Take care of yourself and watch after the kids.
Solid video, more laid back and loose, nice casual video. Great to see hunter learning!
Nice video on a fixing a bunch of thinks. Good job Hunter on welding the exhaust. You have to start somewhere. You saved your brother some money! Great job teaching/ Showing Hunter how to weld, Paul. HI ya Ben😎
Thanks for the welding lessons. We need more edutainment like that!
It's great how you all work together and positively support all your efforts when doing any job, Great Teamwork FABRATS!!!😊
That is some great instruction by Paul on welding the thin stuff!
Great to catch up on all the little outstanding jobs around the place. My only problem is by the time I fix all the busted stuff, there's no time left for the project, lol.
Yes, you fixing all the stuff on the to do list for that day!
Ben, I would say use anti-sieze when you have two different metals, like stainless and regular steel and on any alloy like aluminium or magnesium. Oil and grease work great on a steel to steel connection.
Thank you, weather is getting nicer, pretty nice picture of your spot over there in God's country, keep on making videos and bringing us along
Jeepster next to the shop
Pretty sure I spend more time planning to do a project than it take Paul to just DO the project.
--- Thanks for the fun upload. ---
Awesome seeing Hunter learning to weld while helping his brother out. Sick work
Love the humor and teaching on this channel
Got some helpful stuff stuff done for yourself, for Hunter with some thin metal MIG training 6:04, and and for Wyatt who gets his exhaust tidied up at the family discount rate. Wyatt also learns his Nissan can do a burnout! All-in-all, it was a good day in the shop!

Paul you are a good teacher in my opinion I will be honest getting an opportunity to learn welding from you would be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this video getting all the small projects done and out of the way.
That’s a productive day guys 👍 love those TCI transmission pans 👍 Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏽🌴😎

Hunter is not related to Paul and Ben at all, evnen though they share the same last name: Cox.
I've welding for years and still have troubles without burning a hole into thin metal great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and stay safe
Every so often you need a day like that just to get things back on track.
It's great how you guys are teaching Hunter as well as showing him the skills he needs....
I wonder if the transmission failed within the seven minute warranty period?
😆
Good job hunter. Trying is what counts. Just this past winter, boss asked me if I could weld some new rockers on one of the old work trucks. My response was I don't know but we're going to find out! And I'll be darned she turned out mint!
one of the best vids! You make me feel guilty sitting here watching RUclips instead of out there working on my own vehicles! lol
Congratulations guys you got all the past projects taken care of!

Hunter vs Lizzy? That's not a fair fight man. Can't believe you'd want to set Hunter up to lose like that. 🤪
"No problem " the mantra you all live by...you are the most amazing people
I wish we could see how the progress is going on the new shop. Please!
Paul is so smart showing patience with the kids because he knows that everything he allows them to do will make him look that much better😂
I LOVE HOW GRAMMIE COMES RUNNING TO SEE WHATS GOING ON EVERYTIME THERE IS SOMETHING SOUL RATTLING LOUD! ROOTS RUN DEEP!!😂
Hunter is like one of Pauls boys, give no slack, but teach them in the process.
On the farm, we used 6011 rod. We used other rods for special occasions. But 6011 was our 'go to" rod

Mentoring is how true skills get developed! Classes teach you only so much.. reality teaches what you need to know!
So glad you had the safety prop in place while you were welding the tongue.

Another great fun day in the shop. YOU guys are so talented and awesome.
I love it. Not once, not twice, but three times in one video with the 5 foot extension. I might need one now.
You need to catch up on the little things every once in a while! Good welding practice Hunter.
Hunter you are a lucky man! Paul is teaching you skills that you can use all your life.
Paul being a great and patient teacher... Hunter is very lucky...
Hello . I have used teflon grease for many years and it has worked well. keep up the good work
Paul is a great teacher.
we need more like him.😊

Dump trailer tip...Put a block inside the hinge and push the door back against it bends the door right back into place!
Hunter welding his brothers hooptie. True love!

When your ME-MAW knows what cooked ATF smells like PRICELESS.
The ultimate thing to do is take your gang, Matt's off-road, trail mater and Robby Layton and build the coolest off-road vehicle love the vids 👍🏼
By teaching Hunter ,you also teach us. Thanks Paul!
I like how Paul shows them how to weld without criticizing them
I truly like how Paul & Ben Help everyone and teach the young men how to do things. ❤
Love it when Paul teaches the youngins. Also when Ben does as well. Showing them the force 🙏
Paul “Fab Rats”💛 always keeps you on toes with interesting content 💛 Thank you ✌️

Love Ben backing up and grinning at the camera when Paul is swinging the sledge. That there was an older brother that "trusted" one too many times...

If you watch the beginning of the video, it sounds like Paul says "Beef". No clue why it made me laugh so much 😂. Thx for sharing.
