scouts too steady on height they didnt see the heart. mans been killing it forever!
Well back in the early 2000's they would respect guys who stayed 3-4 years like they do in football but that changed around 2010ish
Not the heart, but the talent. Scouts gave more favor on the height.
Imagine him not getting drafted in the NBA, and then playing a vital role on a championship team!!🔥🔥this man works hard.
I don’t think you need to imagine that

He went from undrafted to now making 21.5 million dollars on a championship contender team
eh we arent anymore cuz we lost players and pascal kinda fked it up in playoffs but its ok raps happy they won 1 who would have thought?
@@samjirbhuiyan3030 we r still most definitely title contenders . Just watch I think we will be a 3 seed or so I think Baynes is the perfect fit
@@samjirbhuiyan3030 What fan are you lol raps are definitely contenders if siakam can play better
@@curto201 wdym Im grateful for the one championship that we won that we could have never imagined idc if raps never win and also even if siakam plays well, we cant be contenders because raps revolves around a superstar. Unless siakam turns into hakeem for a season, we aint winning cuz next year theres a ton of strong combo teams which include lakers, nets, suns, celtics, heat, gsw with injured klay, luka mavs, denv young nuggets, and slept on pelican youngin team.
@@samjirbhuiyan3030 You cant blame pascal AS MUCH not saying he didnt flop. It was his first year as the STAR of the team. Give him a break coming from a toronto fan thats kinda weird
This guy's good I hope he wins an NBA championship one day
Sarcasm?

He already has.

I went to a rival HS in Fred's conference. Everybody knew he was incredibly talented but didn't expect him to make to the NBA because of his height. It's crazy to visualize how much better he has gotten through hard work. Well-deserved, so happy for him. 815
When I think of the perfect backup pg/solid NBA starter, Fred VanVleet is the first that comes to mind. His greatest assets in my opinion is his IQ and patience, he is incredibly intelligent, knows his spot and can elevate any second unit or contribute in a starting lineup, one of my favorite players of the last two years.
Been an alltime fan of Fred Since day one, it was fate that my fav nba team picked him up and turned him into a rising star. I’m relieved that he has re-signed. I Look forewords to his future with the raps.

No cap in his second season with the raptors my dad hated him and i really liked him i remember him coming through during a pacers game basically saving us and it was awesome also the pistons game
@@prospects5954 oh cmon, gimme something harder.
from undrafted player to super star NBA player. Legend.
Nba teams really watched fred play and didnt think he would make it in the league, thats insane. They should be embarrased. Teams value potential, athleticism and talent too much. He is a flat out winner and warrior. Ok maybe they didnt think he would become as good as he has but you can't watch his college tape without thinking he'd at least be a solid backup and good locker room guy. The fact that he went undrafted is ridiculous lol.
I get what you're saying and you're not wrong but height is also a major factor. I'm taller than then Fred. If he was 5 inches taller he would probably be a lottery pick. The same way that if Lamelo ball was 5 inches shorter he would likely go undrafted lol.
Both fair points, but that video “WOW”. I’m glad he got that contract. Beating the odds. I’m glad he he stayed. Younger then Ibaka .
Highest paid undrafted NBA player of all time btw.
Good for him🏆. He deserves it💰. They should make a movie 🎥
Him Bake and Early were different in this tourney
Always bet on yourself, Freddy!
As a wichita state fan all I gotta say is the years we had him, early, cotton and baker were some of the most entertaining basketball I’ve ever watched
crazy hearing the same guy commentate this that was commentating during fred's game 5 against the bucks
4:34 VlanFeet LOL
How did this talent go undrafted
he's continued to improve. him and ron baker were dogs and work hard
Bro that #1 seed Wichita team was LETHAL. If only they weren’t matched up against that 9 seed Kentucky so early... they could’ve gone deep in that tournament.
This dude crazy good, imagine once he makes the NBA. I think he’ll be good
man shout out the Toronto scout that vetted Fred at the time which im guessing was dan tolzman
raps put a premium on character first. they dont even look at talent. It's purely mental and how players are willing to work hard to improve - a formula that has clearly worked out for them
Become Undrafted to one of the best gaurds in the NBA vanvleet built different 💯💯
Hearing Kevin Harlan call this game and then realizing years later he’ll call a playoff game with Fred in it makes me smile
Don't know that Fred can euro-step in his moves, but amazes me is that, he is not afraid to drive against much much taller players than him, just awesome
Now he’s an nba champion🔥🔥
In Masai/Bobby We Trust!
I feel like he’s been in the league for so much longer 😳
Games preCovid hit diff. Respect to Van Leezy too. Straight killer
Man him and Ron Baker were a deadly guard combo
Man, from undrafted to a all-star, man
he is the avatar of hard work
Earned that contract. Proud of that man 💪
He’s not 6’4 with no jump shot and poor work ethic and crazy athleticism how will he ever make the nba 🥴
Uh.....Neither was AI, Derrick Rose, Or Damien lillard, don't know how they got in either then.
ッImpulse nah theyre crazy athletic tho
His game is exactly the same.
Right, just a way better ball handler now
@@bullettomy7thheart & passer, & he’s a better shooter also
Blessing to go to the tournament 4 years in a row
Marv Albert gave him a "yessssss and it counts" even in college. Wow.
The Raptors Organization have become a good scouting team. One of the best. Kinda like the Spurs. Minus the other chips but one Superstar away from improving our Chances.Go Raptors 🦖🏀🏆 🌶 Can’t wait for the season to start.😎

FREDDIE ALL STAR!
Steady Freddy
Just by the eye test you can tell, he is much quicker and technically skilled than most of the other players. Nobody can stay in front of him. Unfortunately nba scouts take height too much into account sometimes
My favourite player he’s a killer
8:28 sent his ankles out of bounds
Been a stud since day 1
Love Freddy!
“Oh that was niftyyyy”
I can picture Payton Pritchard following in the foot steps of FVV
Love the WuShock, ever since college in Kansas. VV was a dog and wow has his work PAID off, got a lot better and then some lol
I’m still trying figure out how he ain’t get drafted
i didnt know the shot clock time was 35s lol
Anyone else remember how Cleanthony Early was the one projected to be a big time player from Wichita but in the end Van Vleet so much better 😤
I went to school with both of them and both were humble always positive attitude. Not taking anything from Fred dude is a beast but Early didn’t have time to showcase his talent he got shot remember 🤷♂️
My favourite player
People thought Cleanthony Early would be the best player from this squad lol. The highlights against Ohio State hurt. He killt us that game
We (WSU) NEED more PG's like that.
Vanvleet flaw for that😂 8:30
Look at the difference in interior . His layup package is still lacking if he could get that like Lowry. He’s getting 25-26 easy a game
i dont know how a guy gets overlooked after lifting a small college team up and carrying them to a final 4. i assume its his height. but how can scouts miss smart players like that, especially ones that play hard. i predict another ring for him in the future.
height and a lot of guys have done the same in college. cant predict another ring if he isn't on another great team lol.
@@freddycalipari4242 you are right about the team part 2 stars and fringe players are not enough. hustle is the difference. with a few timely 3s.
Wow this guy is talented but i think he is underrated to the point that he is gonna get undrafted but eventually win a championship and earn 20mil per year
Freddy Steady #GoRapsGo
i hate the people counting the shotclock
40 plus change million a year now.steady freddy getting the bag
recommended since the new contract? 👀☝🏼
#Bet onYourself 🎲 Congrats Fred 💰💯
FLYNN!!!! OH WAIT THAT FREDDY!
Seeing him get his bag from Toronto is good. But i still wish my man Scottie Reynolds got a shot lol. Same with Jon scheyer.
It is just me or does it seem like that Baker guy was on their team for like 6 years?
Fearless what more could u ask for from lightskin mj
Man, he looked like Flynn but stockier. Same cut alright.
