3:52 as a UofL fan this brings me immeasurable joy but the Monk shot is one of the most iconic shots to not matter, especially with the call by Nantz, goodness lol
I was at the 2016 championship game in Houston when Jenkins hit the game winner for Nova. An unreal moment in an unreal environment. The arena had final four seat cushions in every seat and when Marcus Paige hit the insane double pump 3 for UNC to tie it up, people in every section were throwing the cushions in celebration! Cushions were flying everywhere! It happened all over again when Jenkins hit the game winner. I’ll never forget that game and shot to win it! Special stuff
And what made that Jenkins shot even crazier is that Marcus Paige had just a crazy three on the play before. Watching that game live as a UNC fan was wild
Not to be a downer, but a somewhat sad part of these videos is that these buzzer beaters are also the end of some kids' college careers. Such a heartbreaking way to end it
There is an argument to be made that Mario Chalmers three to send the 2008 National Championship into overtime in 2008 is the most important/clutch shot in NCAA history. First of all, it happened in the Championship game, which automatically makes it more important than the other clutch shots in the past that happened in earlier rounds. The other two clutch shots that happened in Championship games are Lorenzo Charles and his dunk to put NC State over Houston, and Kris Jenkins three pointer to win over UNC. What makes Chalmers' shot more clutch though is that NC State was tied with Houston and Nova was tied with UNC. Had either of those guys missed their shots the game goes into overtime where they still could've won. If Chalmers doesn't make that shot the game is over and Kansas doesn't win. Third, it was found out later that Memphis had an ineligible player in the 2007-2008 season. They had to vacate all of their wins from that year. Had they won that night they would've had to vacate the title. So, Chalmers hitting that three-pointer prevented there being no champion for 2008 as the title would not be awarded to Kansas. There would just be no champion. This is just an opinion however and people are free to disagree. This is a great list, and all of these moments are classic moments. I hope there are more classic Madness moments this year.
WTF was that dude on Virginia doing?! That may very well be the most boneheaded play in NCAA history..did he think the ball would stay in the air for 8 seconds?
Honestly it's not nearly as cool when they're tied before the shot. It's basically just a free shot at the basket. The one shot to win it or lose it is much more dramatic.
That shot by Jenkins it is forever one of the most iconic moments of all time.
never made the nba though
@@yeon723 who cares? Still had a greater moment than 99.99% of basketball players
Every kids dream is to hit a buzzer beater for the championship and Jenkins did just that
Fr he will remember that for the rest of his life
I truly believe Jenkins felt the best feeling known to man.
@@TeganSummers indeed
They did a sports science on that shot and it was a lot closer to being blocked then it looked by about 2 inches from being tipped crazy...

Everyone's dream is to catch shocking upsets, or game winners from sports like that.
It’s that time of year but while Ian Eagle is awesome, the Jim Nantz magic will be severely missed.
The Jim Nantz Magic Will Always Be Remembered, And The Legacy Will Live Forever ❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾
They should have bought out Gus Johnson's contract from Fox and brought him back. That would have been the only way to top Jim's presence.
@@ryansmith1044Gus Johnson I miss him

The 3 pointer made by the player to win the game was by far my all time favorite!!!!!!!!
Jordan Poole’s shot celebration is so funny to me. Dude literally starts running around dodging his teammates 😂
His name will live forever.
He was dodging Draymond he was there lookin for him
Boy that 2016 tournament was something wasn't it?
3:05 number 35 looked like he was planning an assassination against all of Michigan.😂
Haha I see that
You posted this perfectly for the algorithm
Who else is ready for the 2024 tournament to begin?
That sdsu one was insane
Toughest shots were 3-pointer shots when team was down 2 points with less than 3 seconds on the clock 💪
This video is the best. Wow. How bout them onions!!
The Jenkins game winner always hurts to watch because I am a unc fan but hell of a shot
Every game is like this
chalmers shot is more clutch than jenkins but jenkins shot is the most iconic so I understand it being #1
Chalmer's shot also isn't a buzzer beater.
@@josephgedgaudas2892 neither were a handful of them
Jenkins was way more clutch than chalmers’ shot. And it’s not even close
@@AnthonyEdwards4LifeA jenkins didn't need to make that shot, chalmers did. it definitely was more clutch?
@@cmikks Jenkins most definitely needed to take the shot in order to attempt to win the championship. Come on now, lemme see what ur smoking.
I miss that Gonzaga team 😥
God I hate that San Diego shot against FAU man, it’s gonna be a long time before we’re in that position again
4:19 “They won it….on the dunk.”
Doing Kihei Clark dirty by putting the Furman game but not the Purdue assist
So annoying how shots are obviously good but refs have to make it all about them and keep blowing their whistles afterwards.

True, it is sad for seniors Careers to end like it 😢
4:42 bro did a split💀
My first buzzer beater was Christain Leattner my second was Brice Drew but my favorite of all time was Rip Hamilton in '99, awsome!!!!
I wonder why they didnt add that shot from morgan williams to beat the uconn huskies
The shot by Jenkins may get topped one day, but I have a feeling it's going to be a long, long, long time before it does.
Where's Mamadi Diakite's game-tying bucket in the UVA-Purdue 2019 Elite Eight? It's still the best game I've ever seen

Why do the refs blow the whistle when the ball beats the buzzer.
I still would like to know what Brice Johnson was doing defending nothing but open space on the Jenkins shot.

Butler shoulda won - duke is very insufferable - butler curbstomped them tbh
Has a buzzer beater in the championship only happened once?
1983 with NC State
Any shot that’s banked in shouldn’t count as clutch in my book
Why not?
@@thatreddude7700a lot of people think bank shots are heavily luck based so I would assume that’s why
@Daboss-er3qk They are mostly luck. Very few people are actually aiming for the bank shot from a distance.
Ah yes. A line only someone who doesn’t play ball says.
No wonder your username is depressed chargers fan.
Can we please get Gus Johnson back in the booth instead of the idiot who screams “Onions!”
