I used to use OBS and Adobe premier to edit my videos. its not that hard to make a speed paint unless there are errors happening during recording. Riot games doesnt publish speed paints anymore, they just let the artists publish them on their own channels. I remember they had a large pack full of speed paints that had the riot logo at every beginning and using the in game music.

Yeah, it’s literally unbelievable how much time is spent on these. From what some splash artists say on Twitter (I follow a few of them) pieces like this can take upwards of 60 hours split over several weeks. I can barely focus on a piece for longer than 20 hours. It’s breathtaking, and also a very sobering reminder of how many more years of practice I still need to break into this industry… I’m 21, and I’ve been studying art essentially since I was 6.

post processing parts rm to pause vid and use < > to see frame by frame as it goes by too fast can use the mute/unmute button to make video to main screen again when you go do something else and dont want to press play/pause to return to video because 1 sec = alot of steps 48:26 no fx yet 48:30 adding fx Colordodge, field blur 48:45 outer glow layer style 48:48 overlay push lights & multiply to push envinoroment elements to be more dramatic contrast wise 48:55 noise for film grain & color balance to harmonize overall colors 48:57 making mask for blur, when drawing black will bring back the original paintings sharpness for areas he/she wants to bring back into focus after this is just small back and forths = liquify, overlay ot change eye color slightly more blue, eyebrow slight paint over, etc 50:29 color pick nearby env where the body part he/she wants to push back is, and add atmosphere with low opacity soft round 50:30 color dodge get a glow effect had to use hue sat to adj the color to feel like it fit with the curretn glow around her hard to tell what color it is when its so subtle towards the finished stage 50:33 adding rim light affecting outer hair strands to give purpose to the rim glows he added just before 50:38 gaussian blur the newly painted hairs to make it fit because already did post processing on the iamge before 50:40 turn of Red in RGB channel in layer style options to get that chromatic aberattion effect when slightly moving the image 50:40-56 is noodle heaven, very easy to just noodle at this point, everything looks great but sitting there for hours makes one very very sensitive to everything 50:56 adding noise to that outer glow from 50:30, it also in turn brings downthe opacity of the glow 50:59 overlay adding some more glow effects 51:02 outer glow layer style again but this time to add sparkles honestly the most annoying part about painting after doing post is that everything you paint again you gotta go and apply post to it afterwards noise>blur> and maybe chromatic abb 51:36 chrom aberration to the top of the flowing scarf by using layer style again 51:45 color dodge on certain parts of dragon to push it a little more but at this point its too small a change 99% of viewers will not notice, but such is the plight of art when sitting there for hours on end
the farest i've gone with my art was ~50 layers ☠️✋ but oh my god for you to be working with more than 300 layers makes me realize how amazing people can be! Incredible art!!!
Number of layers has nothing to do with how good an artist is, it’s just them working in a way that makes them feel comfortable. There are some extremely talented artists who use one layer, and there are some who use 300. Using 50 doesn’t make you bad!

No, this is an illustration! Concept art is designing. Riot does commission a lot of other people outside their studios for skins, and the going rate depends on the individual artist (usually 1-5k) and it’ll be done over a couple weeks with a thumbnail stage, etc. source: I’m a studying artist!

Not to downplay their work. Not at all, but when you have around the same talent and experience these people have it's actually pretty easy, and since this is a drawing it doesn't take a lot of time so one person is guaranteed to do it, animating is when things get complicated.
There is a process to this where a bunch of artists look at each others work and give critique, sometimes even painting swaps if someone is better at painting something specific than others, if you are interested Atey Ghailan is a former riot artist who also shows these time lapses with explanations of the process and how they operate on RUclips. He now owns a art studio and still has riot as a client, basically a outsourcing studio for game art.
this is one of my favourite splash arts. there are 100s of champions, and loads of skins, imagine how much effort artists put into making the splash art of such high quality.

I've watched a few other splashskins now and in the first 30 minutes of the videos, a lot of other artists are often playing with the perspective and anatomy. I know it's not cheating to trace and use 3D models but you look like such a master (I mean because you are)

I'm pretty sure the artists work at league, they aren't commissioned to do the work. Their salary (according to google) is an average of 95k
With similar level of expertise and details, I believe it would costs 2-3k

真的太厉害了,视频的前30分钟其实完成度已经很高了,中间一看进度还剩下不少,即便看过了原画依然想象不到下一步应该画在哪,但作者还是在不停的推敲打磨他脑海里的光影,把作品细化到了新的高度。这个MOBA游戏的光影和建模已经真的要配不上这些原画了,真心对这个行业的前辈感到敬佩,拳头他们后来出的皮肤的定价现在看来非常合理。

honestly I adore the amount of care you put into this piece, so many details barely noticeable and yet they fill the piece with life. I aim to be as good as you in the future and hopefully work with Riot at some point as well
