- A new American classic? Check out this extended play thru video of the new Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50 Head. Sorry for the super sloppy playing! Check out specs online and please subscribe and share if you dig the amp reviews on this channel.
Some of the pedals used in this demo - Styrmon El Cap , Strymon Deco, Mooer Devin Townshend Ocean Machine, Echopark Chronic Fuzz.
If you run that amp through an open back cab with C90's, you'll thank me and possibly name your first born, or at least a small pet, after me for suggesting it. The amp was designed for flatter response speakers - C90s, not V30s. C90s suit the bottom end better and your tone will cut trough better. You won't get the full goodness out of it until you try it. The cab dimensions of the Fillmore cabs also help because the resonance isn''t as boomy on the low end. I didn't fully appreciate the difference until playing in a band mix. Really cuts through better with the right speaker & cab.
this sounds correct.
@@donofly Ever get one? Thoughts if so?
Holy crap that 1st strum blew me away! I've never looked into mesa boogie before... I was suggested this by a sales guy so of course I look to RUclips for reviews! Sounds amazing! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
No better feeling than playin ur fav axe straight In to a brand new amp....and become inspired....I do love boogies
I played one at Sweetwater last week when I bought my new guitar and it is BUTTER smooth I have to have one soon.
Great demo. It's nice to hear the Fillmore with V30s vs the C90 in the combos. Great playing too. Thx for posting this demo.
The amp sounds amazing and the playing was superb. Mesa Boogie should keep an eye on you to demo their products!
not when they have Andy Timmons and Petrucci, real players with bonafides that have no question. Im just a jammer.
Always outstanding videos. Best recording quality I've heard on RUclips. 🤘🏼
Shazbot thank you so very much!
Absolutely phenomenal playing and great demonstration of what it can do!
Amazing demo for tone. Maybe a little less delay, but still you can hear the actual tone of the amp..
Best channel ever. Thx once again for making my day. Greetings from Greece
thanks for always being a positive subscriber!
Great demo! Most of the demos don't showcase high quality crunch tones that you can get from the amp.
Finally an amp that has the sound I am looking for!
Man, I thought the Vox MVX150 head sounded killer. This blew me away with it's clarity and openness. It's so expensive, but it would definitely last a long time. Is there any substitute for good tone? I want the Vox head, but maybe I should hold out and get the MB head. I have heard nothing but good things about their build quality, too. This demo gave me a lot to think about.
FANTASTIC playing! The tone is incredible. I'm hoping you list your pedals and if you use the effects loop or not, etc. But I have to say... I've never heard such a range of excellent tones from "just" any one amplifier; I was shocked when you said that you would now be using your pedals around the 10:22 mark! That alone sold me on this bad boy!
I'm probably going to buy the combo version of this incredible amplifier. Though that stack sounds fantastic, too... Liked and subbed!
delay is in the FX loop. Mooer Ocean Machine. Dirt pedals were the Echopark Chronic Fuzz and the Strymon Deco (saturation switch)
7:28 that next minute or so, brilliant tone and playing
I have fleeting moments of being decent! thanks for watching!
Great sounding demo as always!
thank you for watching!
Great stuff at the end with the delay
Didn't have a ton of interest in this amp with some of the demos I had heard. This one was amazing and it really showcased how sweet and smooth this amp is! Great playing and killer demo of this thing! Now....I want it.
The most open sounding amp I've heard from Mesa
very nice sounding amp and excellent playing. you say sloppy, wish I played as sloppy as that.
Looks like this amp is the Express 5/50 with two channel 1 strips? That is what I wanted from my Express, channel 2 was cold and rigid. Awesome demo! Thanks!
Great sounding. Where are you Tonemasters now?
Always wanted a Mesa.
Nice. 8) And I wonder what it's sound like through a set of Fanes.
Great demo, thanks so much! God bless!
Not doing audio/production stuff for film anymore, Rez? The amp sounds great! Nice playing
www.audioninjainc.com if you know anyone thats hiring!
This amp head sounds so good. i wonder how it will sound using my 1990s hot rod Deville as cabinet as it is 60-watt amp ?
This Amp. sounds great, you play sick, too.
Tone never lies
Sounds great! What cab/speakers are you using?
Its mentioned in the opening. V30's in a mesa traditional.
Your a really good player. Can you roll a demo with humbuckers? Thanks.
it sounds like in between Boogie and Marshall.
Uses a tweed tone stack and architecture.
great sounding amp great playing also:-)
OK I just ordered this head, thanks!
Lots of people complains about the sooner break up of the 50 w telling that are not good for gigs. I love the sound of this amp. I play in a loud band with 2 guitars, would you raccomend the 100 w better?
if its a loud band yea.
How loud do you have to have this thing to actually get distortion? Can you have it at low volumes say for bedroom use and get it to break up and have good distortion or do you have to crank the master volume? Is this a stupid amp to buy if you were playing at home and that's it?
It has a master volume .... they make a 25w version as well ... so yeah, it works in the bedroom
I think it sounds incredible at any volume.
Owned a Mark 2c back in the day, and that thing was a beast! Great amp, too loud! Sold it and have gone for more Vintage amps over the years. Initially thought this amp was just a dumbed down circuit, in a vintage “looking” amp, but with a traditional modern Boogie voice? Really nice to see Boogie offer a more vintage voiced amp. Seems really versatile and focused? You can get those looser in between low/mid gain sounds, as well as the hot rod classic rock high gain stuff...without getting too tight? You still get all the Boogie control over the tone shaping. Ultimately, this amps sound great! If I were playing out still, I would have to give it some serious thought 🤔 Fun the check it out on RUclips!
Very expressive playing, and the amp sounds killer!
at 11:49 was that the amp distortion, I liked that sound
AhlStar88 yes
Hoo boy this sounds good! Easily the best sounding demo of this amp I've heard. This sounds much "sharper" and "crisper" than the combo I've played. Do you think it has anything to do with the cab you're using?
maybe? this is mic'd with an SM57 and I used a single coil equipped CS stratocaster...
Is the combo open back?
this is the HEAD.
Damn. Now I'm torn. Initially I wanted the combo, but this makes me second guess that, haha.
I never want to be married to a single speaker combo amp.
Its a nice amp but I could actually use half the amp and foot switchable modes for half the price?
I just wished they'd put numbers on the knobs
Dabluze Dabluze exactly
How does this compare to Lonestar or express 5:50. Seems like clean and crunch channels from Express which would be rad!
no I dea, I have never played either of them!
Thanks
I have an express 5:50... I think the Fillmore is much more vintage voiced. Considering getting it
I have the Express 5:50 + Plus Head With the EQ Running it through a 4X12 Mesa cabinet with vintage 30's. You Nailed One of my settings exactly excellent playing. I can noodle for hours I've been using Mesa products for over 20 Years I still own several Mesa Boogie heads Not on the road as much anymore still writing and recording Thanks for sharing
@@jeffhunter9311 i bought a 5:50 when they first came out. The clean channel 1 is one of my favorite clean tones ever. Channel 2 I never liked the gain sound.
That was killer....THE END.
Damn, GREAT PLAYING!!!!!
no clue on that one....probably not like how they did do before and undersize the OPT intentionally and that sound. Do not worry about the valves running to some extent as long as compatible...same thing I thought wanted to try a zillion output xformers.
Is there spring reverb in the head or is that digital verb?
Spring, long tank
Love it
Hey Reza. For a thrash metal rhythm tone, what's the best sounding amp (i.e. your favourite) you've ever played?
I live and die thrash metal tones. So many great versions of that to go for. Check out my ENGL Powerball video, that was a great thrash tone, The ENGL Savage is WAY better , a vintage Marshall JCM800 Vertical input and a friedman Buxom Boost will take you there! it just depends which era of thrash. Im more from the old school and like the meaner tones personally. Im not one of those guys that likes to play Rectifiers for thrash, UNLESS its a Revision F 2 channel model with EL34's loaded in it.
So many great choices, if you can find an ENGL Savage you will be RIGHT THERE, there is a Powerball 1 on guitar center used right now for CHEAP too. 45 day return policy there! try it!

@@RezaMatix awesome dude! Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the Engl Savage. I've never played one. I'm more of an old school thrash guy myself. My favourite guitar tones are those used by Metallica on master of puppets and ...and Justice for all. I'd love to get a boogie Mark 2C+ at some point in my life but I just can't really afford one ATM. What I like is crunch, and tight chugging. That's what I look for. Anyways. Your channel rocks! Your demo of the boogie Mark 2C++ is SAVAGE. I would die to be able to play that amp for 1 riff of "Battery" lol.
SKULL KRUSHER if you want an original mark 2C++ let me know. I’m open to selling mine.
@@RezaMatix are you serious????? I mean, I'd love to have one more than anything. But what's your price? I don't think I could afford it ATM.
Reminds me of the Fender custom shop 90's Tone master.
Sounds like a good amp for STP. I played one the other day. Dug the harmonic content and feel.
great pedal amp. you can do magic with this as your foundation.
I have many vintage Fenders and want something new to replace them, is this the ticket? And, is the 25 watt mode a manageable volume?
Reza, I thought you were gunna upload all your videos to your other channel from now on?
That channel is really for gear Im paid to demo. I was gonna put this there but I don't have any deal with Mesa...
There's another channel I can watch these???
ruclips.net/channel/UCG2cqWMCnVfm3YhgVCDBA5A
Hate the knobs!! put numbers on them!! Oh no that's another $200, sounds great though
flobeeone kinobee dumbass kid
get it while you can before they stop making it!
This is a great amp they discontinue so many tho .hmmm I wonder
Although they generally roll many of the ideas into the next model. They also like experimenting and sometimes those ventures fail in the market. However, they are not afraid of that.
They still make these...just bought one..I'll demo it soon...keep any eye out..I promise it will be killer !
you remind me of Johnny Winter
TheBhannah wow, high compliment. Thank you so very much.
So as for the head, how are we hearing just the head? I see the combo is miced but you say its just the head? Are we hearing a direct out? Did you changed the speaker inside? Or are we hearing the entire combo as it is stock? Sorry, I'm just confused because you say it's just the HEAD when it looks clear in the video that you are micing the "head" with the "cabinet" all in one amp, thus a Combo. Thanks.
Chad Bierman go to :57.
RezaMatix thank you. I am confused at myself now why I asked this question 😂.? It sounds really good 👌👍🏼🎸. God bless!
I would pay per hour just to be able to play one or two of your amp collections.
Not the ticket for me.. I was hopin mesa got away from those glassy highs.. Rectos are great in the hands of a skilled amp tuner.. I imagine this is too.
Jimmi tone!😀
Stevie Ray Tone.
Robert rogers, definitely not SR tone.
Is the amp to loud?
amps are never loud enough.
:)
It's very loud.
sounds very tweedy.
Single coils 😩
Dude, you need to crank the mids a bit more.
I was kind of going for that mid scooped sound...the V30's have ALOT of mids, so in the room it felt just right
you either own a guitar store ....or you have a great job
Im unemployed!
how do you afford all the expensive amps?
trading mostly. buy low sell high, slowly work your way up to better gear.
that is the way to do it
@@RezaMatix damn. I really hope to be able to do that one day. I just don't have the time right now unfortunately.
Great playing. That amp tone is hot garbage.
Noooo loafy Opamp man...noooooooo lol. It does sound a lot better getting it up a little idk 14-15v lol......see some cool fucking shit lol
Is this a review ... or where you practicing your Guitar Center show off chops?
TJ Bernick is this a comment or where you show you're a douche? It's a "Play Thru" video , I play thru it, you listen and hear what kind of sounds it makes. Of course, you knew that but you couldn't help yourself with the stupid attitude.
Another dumbass. If you explain more,he will say you talk too much..😆😆😆
You honestly think this amp sounds good? Really? 🤭
yes really
😆😆you wish you had one dont you?
