Austin and Amberly have a video out on YT that goes over all of the questions people had about his departure from HF. Basically, the man has never spent a Christmas at home in decades. That and prioritizing family first .
Home Free will flourish, they always have. Major changes and evolutions have occurred since Chris and Adam Rupp started the group in 2000-2001. Adam is the only HF member who has not been "replaced". The last change was Chance stepping into the gap left by Chris in 2016. Austin joined in 2012-13, a replacement himself. Austin will also thrive, because talent like his won't be denied. Meanwhile, this song IS a master work of tight harmony and timing -- so crisp and pure. Great reaction.
Home Free tours a lot and Austin said in a video with Amberly that he wants to spend more time at home and raise a family and he is really looking forward to being home on Christmas for the first time in years 😊
This is one of my most favorite of HF's. Thanks for reacting. As a long time Home Fry, I was sad but not surprised at Austin's decision. The video on YT really tells the story. It 's all good. Home Free will find a new treasured vocalist. Austin will still collaborate with Home Free.
HF went through a change when Chris left and Chance started..I am sure HF will be fine...but I am curious what type of voice/personality then can get to fill that void....I know Austin will be missed, but his family is very important to him, his new life with Amberly, new career ideas and I thought I had read they wanted to start a nature reserve as Amberly does that work. Also, did you notice Adam singing, no percussion... The group was founded by Chris Rupp and Adam Rupp in the Early 2000's. I believe then Rob joined, then Tim and finally Austin. in 2016 Chris left and Chance joined.
I wonder if they're going to scout another member from an a cappella group like they did with Chance. I have my eyes on Peter Hollens and a few others. He isn't currently in an a cappella group though, but he was, and he was in the second season of The Sing-Off along with Chance.
Great reaction ladies, this is an extremely great version of this song! The beginning with Adam Chance and Rob is very precise. You rarely listen to 2 people singing the same words and tune and it completely sounds like 1 person! Precision on note, tone, vowel shape, and especially timing! It’s the best cover vocally I think they do! Adam Rupp and his brother Chris Rupp started the group! They do another masterpiece in How Great Thou Art! In the middle of it you get to hear a small solo by Adam Rupp the beatboxer. Great job! Low bass Kenneth
One of my favorites. Home Free killed it. This was Chance’s baby. He directed it and chose the black and white. It’s stunning! Lots of talent in this group. We’ll miss Austin but Home Free will go on. Good one ladies!🥰😄
_"Helplessly hoping, her Harlequin hovers nearby, awaiting a word."_ (In the Italian _Commedia dell'arte_ theater tradition, Harlequin was a servant/clown who was also the young male romantic lead.) Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills & Nash, who wrote the song as an allegory of their relationship, portrayed himself as the clown, in love with Folk music star Judy Collins. This song was released in 1969, and the year before, prior to his own success becoming a superstar, Stephen was working as a lowly session musician trying to make ends meet after his previous band, Buffalo Springfield, had broken up. He got the chance one day to work with Judy Collins, and the session musician fell in love with the star singer. He was her Harlequin, hovering "nearby, awaiting a word." They did have a relationship, and she already had a son whom Stephen adored _("They are 3 together")._ But, as it happened, she eventually left, falling for actor Stacey Keach instead. The romance with Stephen, and its aftermath with him trying to win her back, did spawn another CSN hit, _Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,_ where he extols her, also worth a listen! (Spoiler, she liked the song, but still told him 'no'....)
This song was originally a folk song that became a classic and sung by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. ( I thought that Neal Young was with them but apparently not) Anyway, HF has maximized so many different songs through their tightly trained and reproduced voices and outstanding productions. The very high background notes are Adam, who is singing in a traditional manner (not a beat boxer) for this song, more inclusive than when he sang in How Great Thou Art.
I was looking thru your videos on home free they have a new video called Skull and Bones. It was written by Chance and it features Chance and Tim singing balls deep. Also check out Tim’s solo song Will you still love me tomorrow/ Stay. Every sound you hear is Tim. It shows his full range of his voice.
If you want a full breakdown of the lyrics, look up David K Reacts. To be honest, I have known this song since CSN did it SOOO many years ago and I never did figure it out. I just accepted that it was a lovely piece of harmony with a whole lot of alliteration.
The precision of breathing in sync, the lockstep of going from unison, to harmony, back to unison, to harmony, the arrangement where several points the baseline hangs on to notes for extended time while the other parts are coming in stages is so incredible, it just like having the most exquisite high end sweets you can buy. The ear candy this presentation provides is so remarkable that I can not think of another to compare it to. ❣
AMAZING PRECISION!! An exquisite 5-part harmony masterpiece!!! Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree #AdamRuppSinging
You Ladies are far to young to remember but I first heard this in a Woodstock Documentary. The then Crosby, Stills and Nash (before Young) performed it. It was written by Graham Nash I believe.
Chris and Adam Rupp started Home Free in 2000. There have been many changes in singers over the past 24 years. Chris himself left in the mid teens - that's when Chance joined. We'll miss Austin for sure - but change is part of life and creates opportunity. I'm excited for Austin to move forward with his life as he chooses, and for the rest of them to grow through this change. All of their futures are bright! Thank you for this reaction - it's incredible music, always!
Don't worry, I don't want to breath during this song either. There is another that is amazing to watch..."Winter Song" in that one they left in the breaths between lines and the guys even breath in unison. In an interview once, Austin said that even before he was in Home Free, he was on the road a lot with other musical ventures. He worked at Disneyworld at one point and he also did shows on cruise ships. At one point, he was on the road so much, he decided it didn't make sense to have an apartment if he was never there. When he had time off, he couch surfed. He essentially has been on the road since college. That is a LONG time. He saved his money from paying rent so that he could buy a house. Then when they were made to stay home during lockdowns, he got to spend time at his own home. And he seemed to thrive on being able to mow the lawn, build a deck, do landscaping...he absolutely loved it. Something that surprised him as he didn't even realize he missed it. So after so many years of honing his talent and bringing so much joy to everyone, he wants more of what he got a taste of at that time. That is his main reason...he wants to put down roots. And more power to him. As for Home Free, if you look at the line up of members since they started in 2000...it is quite the list! And every time they had to find a "replacement" they have done a great job, using each change as a chance to expand and grow.
This is a master class in acapella. Chance directed it (as well as their video of "I Can't Outrun You"). The harmony is spectacular - no beatboxing in this song. I'm happy for Austin & Amberly and wish all the best in the world for them. He's going to be a tough act to follow. When you listen to "I'll Go First" (on Austin's channel) have tissues handy.
The group was started by Adam (beatboxer) and his brother Chris when they were in college, Chris left Home Free around the same time that Avi left PTX both doing their solo careers. Austin has been with the group for 12 years now. He got married a few months ago and really just wants to be home more and start a family. He said he's always been on tour and hasn't been home for a Christmas in years, and He'd like to experience home life more and do more of his writing and solo work at home now. He's not leaving the group until the end of the year though, so he'll be touring with them until the Christmas tour this year.
Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) originally performed this song on their first album released in 1969 and it was written by Stephen Stills about his relationship with folk singer Judy Collins and it is also the first time that Neil Young played on a CSN track before joining the band for their Deja Vu album. CSN has some solid harmony vocals in their own right and would be a great group to react to. Adam and Chance Rupp founded HF and, even with Austin's departure after their 2024 tour, Home Free will be just fine. This is one of a few Home Free songs where Adam Rupp is singing instead of beat boxing. A fun(ny) song by Home Free to check out is their cover of Workin' For A Livin', the video is a takeoff on Ron Burgundy and the Anchorman movie. Great reaction ladies. Puff puff pass 🙌🙏✌️
This is one of my favorites! Austin is already missed! Please check out Mayday(some big vocal surprises you may not be aware of), also InThe Blood, Bless The Broken Road, and Misty Mountains with Tim Foust and Peter Hollens. Thank you for reacting to one of my favorites!
A master class in 5-part harmony. So gorgeous. You should definitely do some reactions to Austin's solo work, if you haven't already. His cover of Tears in Heaven will make you weep.
5 voices+close harmonies=shivers up the spine. They do remind me of a pipe organ. Adam and Chris Rupp, along with Matt Atwood founded the group. I think HF will continue as long as Adam is there.
They've survived changes before. Austin is a generational talent, so it will be difficult, but I would guarantee that they have a line of applicants to choose from. Who wouldn't want to work with talent like this?
I forgot to mention, please watch Tara Simon's reaction to Austin Brown singing Bring Him Home from Les Miserable because she is an amazing vocal coach, but Les Miserable is her favorite musical so she knows and understands the song, the musical, and her insights are beautiful being a mother and the relationship she has with her son! Beautiful song, arrangement, and the passion with which Austin is singing! Thank you!
I think they need to take another cruise, that's was where they found Austin. Home Free was founded by the Rupp brothers in 2000. They have gone through alot of members
I'm sure you've heard this before but this masterpiece is best savored through a set of quality headphones. Crosby, Stills, and Nash, who wrote this, did an excellent version but I'm sure they tipped their collective hat to HF when they heard this
Beautiful song and wonderfully sung, but I encourage you to react to them singing How Great Thou Art! The singing and scenery is beautiful, however try not to get wrapped up in that, but understand to whom and why this wonderful Hymn of the church was written. It'll be easy to want to chime in, but please resist until it's over, thank you. I'm also saddened that Austin is leaving Home Free, but there is a video of him and Amberly explaining why and what they plan to do. My favorite song that Austin has done is Bring Him Home a song from the musical Les Miserable, my favorite! I hope you react to this, thank you. Please pray for Austin's replacement and Home Free as they choose their new family member to continue this beautiful God-given ability to reach people with acapella music! Hope you're well.
Originally, a "masterpiece" was the work submitted by a journeyman to demonstrate fitness to become a full member of a guild, or a master of the craft. This song is HF's masterpiece. The technical skill required is simply astounding.
Austin is quitting because he wants to stay home. He's had his life fill of touring and concerting, he's been in the business all his life. (The others found him and hired him off a traveling show on a cruise ship. He jumped ship and went with Home Free like a bullet.) Now he wants a home. He wants to stay there and raise babies and have cookouts on his deck and have people come to him instead of him always leaving. He says he's never had a home and now he desperately wants one.
This is a cover of a Crosby, Stills, and Nash song they did in the late 60's. Austin's decision to leave HF is he simply wants to be home everyday and raise a family with his new bride Amberly, and not be on the road touring. He will continue to write and do music videos from his home as he has been doing, and will occasionally guest with HF when they are in the Nashville area, where he lives. This decision was spurred during Covid and he had the opportunity to actually be home and put up a Christmas tree and lights for the very first time at home, since he was always on the road during the holiday season.
Austin didn't start the band. Home Free was started by Matt Atwood and brothers Adam and Chris Rupp in 2000. Rob joined in 2008, Tim and Austin joined in 2012 and Adam Chance replaced Chris Rupp in 2016. As of now Adam Rupp is the only founding member in the band. We are all used to Austin and hate to see him go, but that's the beauty of a band like Home Free, the sum is greater than the individual members.
Very rare for Crosby, Stills, and Nash to be upstaged with one of their own songs. This was my favorite of theirs. Home Free did it better, although I tried NOT to admit it. So much for denial... they won me over. Nice reaction, ladies!
I would love to see Peter Hollens step in for Austin! He’s amazing and collaborated with HF before. (Still haven’t found what I’m lookin for ( U2)) check that out! It’s awesome!
Love your gnomes and St. Paddy's Day decor !!!!!! I also love this cover by HF, even though it is way too short. It seeeems simple, but I imagine this is a bitch of a song to sing. It's bare and raw, and if anyone makes a mistake, you'll know it. And so will everybody else. They absolutely have to be perfect to pull it off. It's gorgeous. They do an unplugged (no mikes) live version of this, and it's posted up there somewhere in the RUclips universe. By the way, don't worry too much about Austin leaving. He's living his life. Home Free will go on. It's all going to be just fine!
Adam rupp and his brother Chris were the two founding members and Chris left to pursue a solo career and Adam Chance stepped. You should react to country fried pop medley
I bet you a 100 that when you put this into a pitch processing software it will prove to you that it is digitally pitch corrected (relative to 440Hz most likely). I already hear it by ear. My ear&brain can detect pitches at a 3 - 4 cent range. So if you hear this "performance" sounds digital like a synthesizer, that is because it essentially is. So your praise of "precision" is humorous, because that level of precision _is humanly impossible_ , it literally is. You have been had folks. From this day on, do not be naïve anymore. People and companies do this all the time these days, because it's so easy, even though it is unnecessary.
Popping in here to say there people who want more BTS. A good recommendation would "Standing Next to You" by Jung Kook of BTS. As it’s one of the recent songs that came out. You have watched SUGA/ Agust D of BTS. However BTS offers a lot more sound and style, if you'd be interested.
Home Free will be fine without Austin. As good as he is, he isn't irreplaceable. Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Voctave have all had turnover. They are as strong after as before. Home Free is better than any single voice.
Austin and Amberly have a video out on YT that goes over all of the questions people had about his departure from HF. Basically, the man has never spent a Christmas at home in decades. That and prioritizing family first .

Two words: precision harmony.
Such precision that Chance and Rob sound like one person until you see that they’re both singing at the beginning!

I can't swear to it, but I think that Chance arranged and directed this cover.
Tim arranged it
Incredible harmonies AND togetherness!

Quin - Quin ... not Quar, but Quin tet!!! LOL Be Safe
They’re usually a quartet plus beatboxing, but this one is a quintet.

Austin and Amberly did do a livestream this past sunday if you haven't check it out you should its in 2 parts.
This is so very beautiful! Home Free are the best! Love your reactions! ♥
Graham Nash wrote this just for them it seems.
Stephen Stills wrote it.= - maybe you were thinking of "Just Before I Go"
Crosby, Stills and Young performed this to music, and it was good. The Home Free, acapella version, adds a much different (more ethereal) feeling.
Less than 7 weeks before I see them again live. ❤
Austin can't be replaced!
Love this song so much. Thank y’all for doing it. #Homefree.
This is a great song by Crosby, Stills and Nash and you might want to check it out. As to the lyrics, the alliteration is masterful!
Sincere reaction.

GREAT suggestion Puff Puff!!! 😊 Only thing I can say is Perfect 5 part Harmony!!!
You mean Adam and Chris Rupp. NOT Adam and Chance Rupp, are the founders. You sure you're a Home Frie??????
@@scottrogers7242 Home Fry?
@@scottrogers7242 I must have had Chance on the brain since he started the song and, yeah, I am a Home Fry, you don't need to be a wise ass. ✌️
Great reaction, ladies! A fantastic cover of a Crosby, Stills and Nash song.
Austin was actually the last one to be added to the group before Adam Chance replaced Chris Rupp.
❤🤠#HomeFree. Amazing 😍, perfection. Sad that Austin is leaving but Home Free will be fine. They support each other. Great reaction.🏠🍟
#HOMEFREE...fantastic!
Austin’s solo songs has made radio airplay ❤
The original of this song is enlightening.
They've survived changes before. Austin is a generational talent, so it will be difficult, but I would guarantee that they have a line of applicants to choose from. Who wouldn't want to work with talent like this?
Austin wants to be a stay at home dad. He wants a family and the road has worn him out. Good for him!

Austin said he wanted to start a family; and he also said he wasn't through, hinting he might appear with them in the future .
Originally, a "masterpiece" was the work submitted by a journeyman to demonstrate fitness to become a full member of a guild, or a master of the craft. This song is HF's masterpiece. The technical skill required is simply astounding.
It is about love and loss
Original. Crosby, Stills and Nash!

Not even close. The Rupp brothers started the group. They discovered Austin on a cruise ship and reconnected with him later when they had an opening.
Adam rupp and his brother Chris were the two founding members and Chris left to pursue a solo career and Adam Chance stepped. You should react to country fried pop medley
#AustinBrown 😢❤ #HomeFree ❤❤❤❤❤
Can you guys react to home free bless the broken Road
Not Celtic, Crosby, Stills and Nash.
You know...sometimes you don't have to say anything. Actually, it's probably better if you don't.
You really should wear earphones, you’re missing out on a lot.
Why are you commenting here and no I don't want more BTS unless it's the original Blood Sweat and Tears!
@@roybarbara4756 unless?
Love your reactions ladies but you missed on this one. There was no beatboxing and both Adams were singing
Home Free will be fine without Austin. As good as he is, he isn't irreplaceable. Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Voctave have all had turnover. They are as strong after as before. Home Free is better than any single voice.
You all are on the weird side!!! 😜 less talk and less weirdness people!!!
