You were not kidding when you said it an an absolute pain in the butt to replace. Also, I ordered a replacement online and it was the wrong one...the contact pins did not match. I went to AutoZone and found the exact match. $58 vs. $18 for the eBay part. Hyundai parts dept. wants $180 for the same part. Car dealer parts are such a rip-off. Thanks for the post.
I just replaced the Purge Valve for a 2010 Elantra. The location of components are a tad bit different. I vlogged about the simplicity of the removal and installation as well. It was difficult to start the car after filling the tank. Replacing the purge valve fixed it. Thanks Man Meets Garage!
My Santa Fe had the same problem. The new valve fixed the problem and the check engine light also went off. (disconnect the battery and reconnect to reset the the check light.)
I just replaced the same Purge Valve for 2008 Hyundai Santa FE: Additional tips: Pinch with your thumb the electric connector to remove Purge Valve. Use long nose plier to pinch clamps and slide to right. Slide old Purge Valve to left from metal bracket. The left tubing is difficult to remove. I had to cut. Buy new Purge Valve with left rubber attached outlet. Use proper light. Installing is the easy part. Total Time: 1 hour . DIY saves you $100-200 from mechanic. $9-15 Part on Ebay. Tools used: 10mm socket, Phillips screwdriver, Long nose plier (small).
Have 2014 hyundai accent that had same issue and replaced as soon as i bought it and fixed, but had to replace it the other week after only year and a half?? It worked again, but after market one didnt last long and replaced with another after market one so we will see how long it lasts this time. Still got 40 plus mpg with issue so it doesnt effect mileage.
@man meets garage. I've a 2007 Hyundai entourage and it will not fill up gas properly. It only fills little bit at a time. Like the vent valve is blocked. Could this be the issue? What you showed in the video i mean.
I have a 2007 Santa fe that makes a clicking noise (but not all the time, on and off) from the same area of the engine. Could that value be the click maker?
FYI, on my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, the purge valve is mounted on the passenger side of the intake manifold, easy to reach. Square unit with both vacuum tubes on top. Doesn't seem to be an after market replacement though.
Excellent video, I have a question... does that valve helps (Break Power Booster) in hyundai santa fe? I have change the master cylinder and the power booster. When I press pedal very hard, that gets discharged.
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE IS THE LOCATION OF (THE ON AND OFF DEVICE) TO PROGRAM MY REMOTE CONTROL ON MY 2006 HYUNDAI STA FE?..ONLY THIS YEAR!! THANK YOU.!!
I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. Purchased it 4 months ago with approximately 127k miles. Had same code P0441. Replaced it 2 1/2 months ago. Used a part from Autozone Now the code is back. .. should I have used only a dealer part? Any advice would help.
hey so i replaced my purge valve as well on my veloster and erased the code after that as well. but my tester reads the po441 in permanent codes. is it normal ?, no engine light tho
Well your suppose to unhook the battery while doing this and that alone will take care of the code. This is q bad example I'm only here cause I had to fix my mom's and she asked why I didn't do certain steps he did well its because this is a easy fix maybe because I do this for my job but hey he got it done so
great vid I have the same code but it does not say valve it says large evap leak what can it be the gas cap is new from hyundai my car is a 04 santa fe 2.7
No if you get a misfire it has do with something else. ICauses include worn, fouled or damaged spark plugs, bad plug wires or even a cracked distributor cap. A weak coil or excessive rotor gas inside a distributor would affect all cylinders, not just a single cylinder. ... If two adjacent cylinders are misfiring, it's likely the head gasket between them has failed. You get different engine light code Diagnose and investigate: Ignition Choose your plan of attack - cheap to expensive, easy to difficult - and stick to it. It’s cheap and easy to start with ignition items, so we went to the spark plugs. Because the P0304 had repeated, the #4 plug came out first. It read lean (a gray-brown, not bad but trending hot and fuel-starved), predictive of a fuel problem rather than a spark problem. The repair and replacement (R and R) of fuel injectors is a bigger project than the plugs, so we stuck to the plan and stored the knowledge in case ignition repairs failed to fix things. The other plugs had been replaced about 20,000 miles earlier and looked almost ideal. Every one was in good shape, short of the lean read on #4. We cleaned them up and swapped the plug on Hole #4 with #2. If the problem were the spark plug, the misfire would move to #2. It didn’t. P0304 came back.
2006hyundi elantra auto zone say O2senor it runs good then start it wants to lose power mash gas it go but when I'm at a relight it barely go then it pick up it start to sputter like it can't get any gas
Dude you're giving Miss information to the world. 10 psi? That is a vacuum pump it reads in inches not pounds per square inch. Common Mistake by a rookie. If vehicles were easy to work on anybody could do it.

your excellent video was a "what to do" w/o a clear "how to do"
Thanks for the video I changed my 15 min save money
Maybe check for a faulty gas cap, and electrical connections first and it could save you $70 possibly. Thanks for the informative Vid!
Thank you for posting this video. you saved me so much trouble
dude it would have been nice to see what tools you needed to remove it instead of fast motion video
Great video and Merry Christmas. Very easy to follow.

I have a 2007 Santa fe that makes a clicking noise (but not all the time, on and off) from the same area of the engine. Could that value be the click maker?
Does this purge value also cause the car to have trouble turning on after I pump gas?
Very clear, thanks a lot.
Thank you

How do you determine if the canister purge valve, or the valve in y engine is bad?
Would these instructions work for a 2008 Accent?

hi Larry im a hyundai tech they have a lot of issues in general there all junk the most recalls of any car on the road today
I have Hyundai Sonata 2011 it has small lack in the evap em . So what’s the problem that is causing that . Plz help
So why are mechanics saying P0441 could be [list]? Is that because they don't really have an accurate ODB reader?
hey so i replaced my purge valve as well on my veloster and erased the code after that as well. but my tester reads the po441 in permanent codes. is it normal ?, no engine light tho
Drive the car about 30+ miles with starting and turning off, Sometimes it needs a reset.

Good job pro
Do you have to reset the check engine light? or will it go off on its own?
Mine went off after about 30 miles of driving
Well your suppose to unhook the battery while doing this and that alone will take care of the code. This is q bad example I'm only here cause I had to fix my mom's and she asked why I didn't do certain steps he did well its because this is a easy fix maybe because I do this for my job but hey he got it done so
Just replaced my Purge Valve but check engine light is still on and the code P2189 pops up, along with p0441, p2187, p0456. What should I do?
How did you take it off that bracket man? I’m having a lot of trouble
If you kind of peel it apart, the rubber bracket will stretch and come off.
#bitcoin #crypto #DIY what engine is this 1.6 , 2.0 ?
great vid I have the same code but it does not say valve it says large evap leak what can it be the gas cap is new from hyundai my car is a 04 santa fe 2.7
Start your engine and open your hood. Look and listen for a steady hissing sound. Let me know if you hear anything.
Can you get a miss fire for not replacing it soon?

Help! How do you get the hose from valve to intake manifold off. Neither side of it will move at all
They dry out and get hard as a rock.
